From New York Times bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand, comes a novel about the many ways family can fill our lives with love...if they don't kill us first.
*New York Times bestseller*
It's Nantucket wedding season, also known as summer-the sight of a bride racing down Main Street is as common as the sun setting at Madaket Beach. The Otis-Winbury wedding promises to be an event to remember: the groom's wealthy parents have spared no expense to host a lavish ceremony at their oceanfront estate.
But it's going to be memorable for all the wrong reasons after tragedy strikes: a body is discovered in Nantucket Harbor just hours before the ceremony-and everyone in the wedding party is suddenly a suspect. As Chief of Police Ed Kapenash interviews the bride, the groom, the groom's famous mystery-novelist mother, and even a member of his own family, he discovers that every wedding is a minefield-and no couple is perfect. Featuring beloved characters from The Castaways, Beautiful Day, and A Summer Affair, The Perfect Couple proves once again that Elin Hilderbrand is the queen of the summer beach read.

Too many plotlines and too much rehashing.
Ignore literally ever other review rn and lemme tell u that this book is so good and the ending is spectacular and there is no need to add chapters or more info or anything it was just so good.
Loved this book!
Elin is my favorite author, but the ending of this one actually made me mad! I thought what?! This is it? I needed at least another chapter in this one.
Enjoyed the book, but the ending was lackluster and felt unfinished. There was little to no resolution for most of the characters.
Such an incredible read! My first time reading Elinâs work and Iâm now a huge fan. Fantastic read!! I couldnât put it down.

Intriguing, until you didnât know how to end it. Very disappointing ending
Was a very good read. Certainly had some good twists in it.
Love this book. Actually I love any book from Elin Hilderbrand
Good read
I look forward to Elin's books every summer, but this one didn't hold my attention like usual. I didn't love any of the characters and found myself bored and just wanting to finish the book. The ending seemed rushed like there were some chapters missing.
Well written.
Loved how the story went back-and-forth between the time after the wedding and the events leading up prior to the wedding. Very cleverly written. Oh, and a surprise ending we didn't see coming. Enjoy!
Great book until the ending. Very anticlimactic.
I love this author and most of her books. I did not love this book. End was unfulfilling, wish more was answered. Maybe a sequel? Fast read though!
I have read almost all of Elin Hilderbrandâs books but this one is my favorite. It is a classic âwho done itâ book and the ending was a real surprise. I loved all the interesting characters and couldnât put it down.
Great read, one of my all time favorites.
I found the audiobook painfully difficult to listen to. I found the heroine to be a complete simpleton who strings along a loving fiancé. I felt like I had to dumb-down to get through it.
The story, plot was good and well thought out. However I felt there were too many characters implanted that had no bearing on the story and in fact superfluous. In other words the book could have been more captivating without the authors need to add more pages and characters irrelevant to the story or plot
Terrifically engaging!
Every story developed has loose ends and the final mystery solved was so stupid. Sooo disappointed in this. Was a good read until the ending made it feel like a waste of time
Fantastic

I was hoping for a clever resolution to the mystery but it turned out to be a nothing burger.

Characters well developed and portrayed. I started this book thinking it was a beach story and was surprised that it was a âmurder mystery.â The reader really has no idea as to the culprit as many characters have motive or are harboring huge secrets. Though the story really is contained within two days, you are taken back to earlier years a few times (often that can be confusing, but not in this story). I wish there was more as I was left with several âwhat happens nextsâ and I wanted to follow a couple of characters. Thoroughly enjoyed the read, one of my favorites by this author.
I think it was an enjoyable book. Though I did not almost did not read. Your reference to the young man who died after jumping and breaking his neck. There was no need to put that in the book. It hits home- He grew up in Hingham MA. and many readers in Hingham and Scituate will recognize. I have read all your books but this maybe my last.
Trite and disappointing!
A very disappointing ending. Lifetime movie material
I couldnât put it down but the ending was terrible. Itâs almost like she ran out of time and left the last chapter out.
Loved the book! Couldnât but it down and now i am bummed I finished it too soon. Great twists and turns, Elin has branched out into the murder mystery realm. Thanks again for a âPerfect Readâ
Really good, could not put it down!

Boring predictable book. The stuttering is a clumsy device.....very distracting to the dialogue. Disappointing
I loved this novel! One of her best stories yet!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. An easy read, but a great story with loveable, very human characters..... This is the first novel I've read by this author, but I can easily say that it won't be my last!
Disappointing, repetitive plot points. Written for a junior reader except for some sex scenes. Listening in Audible, the poor writing was obvious with line after line of dialogue ending in âhe said and she saidâ. The beginning of the book was better written than the rest of the novel. The main character Celesteâs magical thinking made me think of a five year olds belief in Santa Clausâ.
I read it, but canât say I enjoyed it much. The characters were shallow and I couldnât care for any of them. The law enforcementâs dialogue was silly, at best. Especially the final conversation between the Chief and the detective. Iike the author character whoâs 21st book was rejected, Iâm rejecting this one.
Good mystery, but the ending is lackingâa real let-down. Misspelled words throughout. However, a good, quick read.
I loved every minute of this well written book. The characters were so well developed I thought I knew them personally. I fell in love with Nantucket all over again.
Fun read, I fell in love with Nantucket though I have never been there. The story kept my interest, couldnât quit reading.

This was a really different book than my usual summer reads by Elin that I look forward to every summer, but i really enjoyed it. Still had the Nantucket charm I enjoy, and I certainly didnât have the plot twists figured out until the end. This book was supposed to last me for the week on vacation, but I found myself wanting to see what happened next and finished it by the 3rd beach day.
Err rerun :;:d
Great read!! I have read every book from this author and Iâm never disappointed. Elin really knows how to draw you in and keep you hooked until the last page.

I loved it! Iâm just getting back to reading and I ended up picking a great book that got me wanting to read so much more..
One of the best stories yet!! Such big plot twists and cliff hangers in the book! Solid 5 stars!!!!!!
After reading every one of her previously wonderful books, I found Elin Hilderbrandâs âThe Perfect Coupleâ to be a disappointment. The plot is basically a murder mystery, and although the time line switchs back and forth, my biggest concern was the large number of main characters. I felt, as a result, few of them were fully developed; therefore I was not completely invested in them. The mystery itself continually held my interest, although I personally found the resolution somewhat flat and disappointing. I highly anticipate Ms. Hilderbrandâs next release this fall, as Iâm sure all of her avid readers are.

This could have been an interesting read. However, the writing is abysmal. I will never be duped into buying one of her books again.
An easy read that kept us in suspense! Canât wait for the next one. Hope to find out what happened with Celeste and her family! Hopefully they will be back.
I loved this book! It was like binge watching your favorite tv show....I couldnât wait to put the kids to bed so I could finish reading it!
I consider myself a sleuth, and enjoy when I solve the murder. This time, no ideas. Completely, confused, and wanted everything to work out differently. It was a quick and suspenseful story!
One of Elinâs best books! I couldnât put it down!
The Perfect Couple is a superbly crafted, captivating, mystery. The most expensive event of the summer on Nantucket was to be the marriage celebration between Benjamin Winbury and Celeste Otis. It was being held at the Winburyâs Nantucket beachfront home. Greer spared no cost in planning Benji and Celesteâs happy day. The only wrinkle, Greer could see, affecting her sonâs wedding, was the report of a missing person, and the dead body that was floating in front of their home, the morning of the wedding. Everyone at the Winbury home was being questioned; nerves were on edge, hearts were shattered, fear was everywhere as the intricate web of sordid, dark secrets were unearthed, one by one. The Perfect Couple is an incredible whodunit mystery, crafted with an intriguing plot, flowing dialog and colorful characters. There wasnât a dull page in the entire book. The characters are beautifully developed, realistic and flawed. I donât want to give anything away, but I will say that I never figured out who the true villain was. Brilliantly crafted. I loved it! Thank you, Little, Brown & Co. Publishing and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy.
