The Lucky One. I have never been a book reader - only when I HAD to in school. I had been urged by many people to start pleasure reading. So, I finally did it. This was my first book and I have to say, it was great!! Nicholas Sparks is a great author. I will continue to read his books, as I have been told they are all good. I owe him a big "thank you" for making my first experience so enjoyable!!

Surprising. I'd read about a dozen other books before I finally finishing this one. Stopped and started it many times over a couple of months. Obviously, I didn't find it to be a page turner, but the ending still surprised me I guess it was worth it.

The lucky one. Waited the whole book for the story to get good but it never did. Three pages about making tacos and one paragraph about their first encounter. Predictable and boring- could have been such a better story.

Another True Sparks Novel. This novel has everything you would expect from a Nicholas Sparks novel. It's another tragic love story with pretty predictable outcomes. But we all know that going into one of these novels, and we read them anyway. We like the simple love story. We like the couple that overcomes adversity. This wasn't my favorite Sparks novel, but I enjoyed the military backstory of it all and who couldn't fall in love with Logan's dog?

Loved it. The movie is so good bd the book is as well.

Spectacular. Im not much of a reader but I read this book cover to cover and ironically a few days after I finished I saw the trailer. The movie was just terrible compared to the book. The book is a tad boring at first but it's one of my favorites. I really connected with it. Tear jerker for sure. Shows true passion and romance. Sparks did it again.

Sparks does it again. I love Spark's books. He shows amazing depth to his characters that pulls you in. His talent in writing a love story is amazing. I have read many of his books and each time I get totally wrapped up in his story. I read this book in a couple of days, stealing as much time as I could until I hit the height of the literal storm and the tumult of the characters. I couldn't put it down. Especially the end. Slightly disappointed. I'm typically a Nicholas Sparks fan but this book was disappointing. The book was made for a movie. They have even chosen to use the characters for the movie over what the characters are described to look like in the book as the iBook cover. That being said I still read the entire book. I think Nicholas Sparks could have done more with it.

Slow read. Not the best Nicholas Sparks novel, very slow pace - you could skim over many a page and not miss anything. Drawn out details that were not important didn't help either. The concept of Beth and Logan's love was unique but still lacked a certain something. Ended with a twist as Spark's novels often do.

Not very good. My wife an I both read this book. We found it to be poorly written and cheesy. The plot was transparent. Read like a cheesy romance novel.

Slow and predictable. I was really looking forward to this book after seeing the previews to the movie. However, I found it to be a very slow-moving and unimaginative story. I actually skipped parts just to try to get through it faster. This is definitely not a worthwhile read. Very disappointing!

Love it. I love this book. I couldn't put the book down, last night I read about 11 chapters. I can't wait until the movie comes out. I can tell that they changed some stuff from the book for the movie, but it still looks great. P.S. I just saw the movie and it was a good movie but the book was way better. I love the book a lot more. Some of the things that they changed in the movie are some of the things that I like the most of the book.

Good but not great. I found the book to be a good love story with Logan a very deep character. Elizabeth seemed silly at times and too naive. I have seen the movie and honestly it was better than the book. It contained great emotionally complicated scenes between characters. The book was missing some of that. All in all a quick, easy, enjoyable love story.

Especially meaningful to those with military family.. Amazing book. I read it in two days and absolutely loved it. It's nice to finally get to see someone portray a Marine who as good, and deals with PTSD constructively. Minimal war scenes, none of which are gory. They simply state what happened, so don't be afraid of that. From someone who works with the Marines, and loves them madly- you'll LOVE this book!
