Loved it!!. Such an amazing read!!!

Not worth the time. I seen the movie preview and thought it looked so good. The book was not at all all through the book was just boring. The story didn't even seem like it was about Amanda and Dawson. It was focused on a lot of other people. I hope the movie has a different ending and is more about the couple. I love all other Nicholas Sparks books but this one disappointed me.

The hype only leads to disappointment. This is no Last Song. So how could you make the correlation between The Best of Me & The Last Song? Simple, the movie rights were sold before the actual book was written. Although, I enjoyed The Last Song as a book and movie, I did not like the sloppiness of The Best of Me. Too many subplots that I could connect early on, and the ending was very flat. I really could not relate to Amanda and her miserable indesciveness. I more or less finished the book for Dawson's character. I have read several of Sparks's books, and this is the book I was the most disappointed with. He is now writing with movies in mind, and has lost his magic that was in Dead John and The Notebook.

Pulls the heartstrings.. Nicholas Sparks is known to pull on your heart strings with his stories. The Best of Me is no exception. Do you ever really get over your first true love? We tend to always remember and relive events of that relationship in your minds and hearts. Dawson and Amanda are no different. They are the typical star cross lovers with Dawson being the typical boy from the wrong side of the tracks. They grow up and lead their own separate lives until the passing of a mutual friend. Suddenly they are back where it all started. Will they rekindle their romance? Is it too late for these two? I loved reading about Dawson and Amanda. I found myself rooting for them time and time again. This was an easy read and got lost in the story.

Meh. I starts reading this book mainly because I wanted to read it before I saw the movie...well now I'm wishing I hadn't of wasted my time and just watched the movie instead like I had done with Gone Girl. This read was really hard it swallow since it was just going everywhere. I mean everywhere! There were a lot of things that could have been kept out and just the way it ended was so predictable...I just wish I never read it in the first place. Come on, Sparks, come up with something better. I know you're better than that.

An Well Defined Love Story. When I first read the Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks, everything changed. Suddenly I felt sympathy for Amanda and Dawson. 25 years ago, Amanda and Dawson were in love, but then Dawson committed some murder and was sent to prison. When he finally got out, he decided to leave. 25 years later, Dawson is summoned back to Oriental for a funeral. At Tuck’s house, Dawson meets Amanda for the first time in 25 years, and through that meeting, Dawson rekindles the love he had for Amanda. However, Amanda is married to Frank and has three children, Jared, Lynn, and Annette. But in the course of that weekend, Amanda spends time with Dawson, and begin to fall in love all over again, this time as adults. I believe in love at first sight with elusive second chances, because that is what The Best of Me is about: loving someone at first sight, and then reuniting with the one you love. The Best of Me was no different. It was a really fascinating love story to read and I just can’t wait to see the movie.

Boring and repetitive. Honestly I knew what the end would be after 30 pages, very repetitive And very boring I'm not going to watch the movie is the book is this bad the movie must be worst!

Amazing book!. It had me hooked from the beginning to end. Although once you get close to the end you can predict the ending but from the beginning to the middle I never thought it would end the way it did. One of the best books I've read by Sparks! Definitely a 5 star and I can't wait to see the movie.

Amazing. I really enjoyed this book I know some people didn’t like the ending or the outcome. But I enjoyed the ending and this story. This book is about two teenagers Amanda and Dawnson who loved each other. But couldn’t be together because of Amanda’s family didn’t like Dawnson or his family. Then old friend of theirs passes away. And some surprises come into the story. I recommend this book it’s lovely story.

Best of Me, worst of Sparks. His most unsatisfying novel yet. Unoriginal and as Sparks admits on the foreword that this was a difficult one to complete it is quite evident he had trouble coming up with anything of any depth. Ending feels just thrown together. I think I'm done with Sparks.

I wanted to read the book before watching the movie because in the past I noticed they never made the books written by Nicholas Sparks any justice but I can bother watching the movie not anytime soon. It broke my heart to read the book and I know they are just going to mess up the movie too,so I rather wait and watch the movie when I forget the details of the book. It was a great but too complicated book.

Predictable and boring. I will admit that I generally find Nicholas Sparks hit or miss; this book was a miss for me. The plot line was flimsy, predictable, and anticlimactic. I found myself less interested in Dawson and Amanda and wanting to know more about Tuck and his wife's story. Perhaps the movie will be better? His movies usually are better than his books.

Don't expect any less. Typical Nicholas Sparks book, I have read 16/18 books and I have to say this book was NOT a disappointment. Yes it's true, it's the same story line about love and loss, but that's exactly what I love about his books. Nicholas Sparks makes me feel every word he writes. He's descriptive and he's consistent and In the end I was very pleased with the ups and downs of the emotions he provoked. I was excited, happy, sad, angry, hopeful, disappointed, and I was all of those over and over again while reading this book! Great read but be prepared for the waterworks!

absolutely amazing!!!!! must read!!!!. i love sparks's books and all romance novels for that matter. but when i read the hunger games, i couldn't think of another book that would ever pull me in again. then i tried this book and i couldn't bear to part with it. nicholas sparks is truly an amazing author who will make you wish you found "the one". this book is truly fantastic, it is one of my favourite's by him. you will love it. filled with page turners and great detail, amazingly written. it will keep you up at night, thinking about whatever this book has meant to you.

True love really exists. Loved this boo! It's a story about soul mates and makes u believe the true love really does exist. I'm a big believer that people are destined to be with their soulmates....and even though sometimes life doesn't allow that to be, the love the two people share never dies. Awesome read!

Page-Turner!. As always Nicholas Sparks writes a fantastic story that you can't put down and hate for it to end...a real page-turner!

Same old, same old.. Just like every single other book that he's written, Mr. Sparks has two people fall in love only to have one of the characters die. Normally, I would put a 'spoiler' before saying that, but let's be honest - it happens in EVERY SINGLE book he writes! Nothing new here! And honestly, I find the writing just dull and boring. The only good book I've ever read by him is 'A Walk to Remember' and 'The Last Song' was readable... kind of.

When I finished I was broken hearted, crying and left trying to figure out why I had just spent several days reading a book that made me feel worse after. Awesome!. Couldn't put it down! Sparks is such a great author who fills your imaginations with the beautiful imagery and I loved the different diction he would use for each point of view. Very disappointed about the ending! I was so looking forward to them running away together or something! But it still had a sweet ending and was still a great book. But if they ever make it into a movie (hope they do!) I actually kind of wish the ending would be different. Ha ha. But I can't hold the ending against the book itself because quite frankly, I LOVED it!! I guess I will have to change the ending around in my imagination. Ha!

Great book!. Wowww... And I thought a walk to remember was sad! This is such a beautiful book! I was crying really hard I have to admit, towards the end. I mean it was really sad I thought I knew what was gonna happen but I didn't cuz I thought it was too big of a kill but... Nicholas sparks is always surprising me! The ending was really good but I didn't like the fact that he killed such an important character off! But the way he did was touching. I LOVED this book, a walk to remember was my first but now this one totally is! I normally don't like books about older people, I like my characters young but this was really good! And I guess it's the way you imagine too. This is definitely a great read but too sad for someone who doesn't like sad stories though still, I'd give it a definite shot. My rate, one on my list!

Great read!. Even though I thought I could predict what was going to happen, I was thrown for a few loops. Sometimes I was right, especially at the end, but it still shocked me that it actually ended that way! You can't go wrong with Nicholas sparks! I wish there were actually more books by him!!

LOVED IT!!. This book was AMAZING. I've read many of Nicholas sparks book and this was one of my favorites. It made me laugh and cry. I loved the characters and everything about this book. The ending was a little sad but it was still an amazing book. I would recommend it to all my friends.

I just wish this one ended happy for a change because you really rooted for them. I would have given this 5 stars if the ending was different. It is a definite read but make sure you have a fresh box of tissues.

Typical of this author but still a good read. I've read all of Sparks books and enjoyed them all, but this one was difficult to get through. Not one of his best. Pretty predictable story line, easy read. Around chapter 17, I found myself pushing to continue on. Lots of characters to keep track of at one point, but in the end I understand how they all came together. If you like his work and are an avid fan, go for it. Just don't have too high expectations.
