He's a prince with a problem, she's a commoner with a getaway plan.

Modern-day Prince Adrian of Monaforte has a most old-fashioned problem: his demanding mother wants him wed to her best friend's daughter, the hard-partying Serena. When his refusal falls on deaf ears, Adrian decides it's time for him to slip away from his gilded cage and figure out his life, all on his own. As luck would have it, event photographer Emma Davison, weary of a revolving door of lost-cause men and tired of her outsider-looking-in career, is in need of her own escape clause, just in time to help a wayward prince in need. And she soon discovers that sometimes a girl's gotta sweep a prince off his feet.

For any girl that's ever held out hope that some day her prince would come…or better yet, hoped that some day she'd come to him.

Review

"SOMETHING IN THE HEIR by Jenny Gardiner is a wonderful tale of love and self discovery, as two people who should have nothing in common, somehow are perfect for each other. The story flows at an enjoyable and natural pace, with plenty of funny moments, alongside the romantic scenes. I love the secondary storyline of Caro and Darcy, and I look forward to the next instalment, to see their relationship develop. SOMETHING IN THE THE HEIR by Jenny Gardiner is a fabulous short, modern day fairy tale, with interesting characters, and I highly recommend it."

Horrible. I read a lot, and this is in my top ten for worst books ever. Lame unrealistic and just plain out terrible. I couldn't even finish it. Don't waste your time. The character had rude, trashy behavior and showing a prince who ran off to find himself "The American way". It was boring. So if you like boring then read it. Find something else!

TexasMan39

Something in the Heir. This was my first time reading a book by this author but it will not be the last! It was very witty, great story line, and not overly sexed up! Kept me interested throughout the book even though I thought I knew how it was going to end. Just a little different than the way I thought it would but it was still good. I heartily encourage you to pick up and read this book. Now for my next one.

Cleosan

Definitely fun. This was a fun book, and if you have troubles, you’ll soon forget them as you take the silly turns to get to happily ever after.

Mvwpd

Princely romance. This was a delightful romance of a Prince who hides away with a young lady who has sworn off men.

SnuzzieJuzzie

THIS IS NOT FOR KIDS!🙇🙅🏻. This book is not for kids even though the cover might look like it... IT IS NOT FOR KIDS!!! It has cursing, making out , and drinking. I am all ready on the first chapter and realized it is not for kids! I read one of the reviews and it said something bout making out in the book. Not. for. kids. I mean, unless the parent said yes. ( btws I am Ten 😆. Umma continue reading it 😆😆😐 )

Great book. This is a great romantic story. It's relatable, and funny. I can't wait to read the next book.

TrishaAnne38

It's okay. While I love a snarky leading lady, the snark got in the way. There was just too much dialogue, which I never thought I would complain about. You never see the couple fall in love because neither gives the other a reason to fall. I felt like I was left out of the minds of those who were falling in love. All we get to see is snarky banter and no action. Boring.

Casey57*

Amazing love story. Great characters & beautiful story. True love finds you. Couldn’t put this book down.

AStarbuck

Cute, quick read; needs a bit of editing. The story was a cute and quick read. Could use a good editor - some instances of when "Caroline" was speaking, that would switch to "Emma said" when Emma was not present. Slightly confusing. Also some minor typos. Overall, cute story and the mistakes were fairly easy to overlook.

JuneBry

Didn't finish. I though both main characters were unlikable and I stopped reading halfway through. As a couple I couldn't even tell they were attracted to each other until they suddenly started making out.

R K Steining

Real good. I liked when Johnathan told her the truth.... Could be better, could be worse, what can I say.

Lattelicks

Not funny for chick lit. Not even mildly funny

Cindy Wittmann Jones

Something in the Heir. I don't normally read contemporary romance novels, actually, I NEVER read contemporary anything. I prefer historical romance, but this story sounded like something I might enjoy. Boy-howdy! I loved this story! Cute, great characters, a mild 1 on the heat scale (1 being mild - 5 being red-hot, raunchy). The perfect little love story. I can't wait to read the rest in this series. Thank you!

Bored Reader # 999999

Lame. I don't normally write reviews, but this one is so bad, I'm trying to save you from it. Really. The characters are weak and shallow, the plot pathetic, and the dialog was so forced and unnatural I couldn't stop rolling my eyes. I kept waiting for it to get better, and then it was suddenly (thankfully) over, as awkwardly as it began. The main character was so obnoxious I wanted to slap her. Save yourself from this book and go find another free one. This one isn't even worth the free price tag.

Manders_lb

Immature. Really wanted to like this book, but the main character was annoying & immature. A mid 20 something sticking out their tongue, just no.

MiaQueenz

😊. I haven’t read it but it looks good

Skiplayer1

Cute story. The story flows and keeps the reader interested. The characters are entertaining and funny.

Equitut

A fun romp. So enjoyed this uncomplicated but fun romantic comedy.

Needs a good edit.. Very cute and an easy read, however; this book does need a serious edit.

Something in the heir. Very interesting

Imxln

Hohum. Struggled to finish it.

ICF1026

Cute Cinderella-style story. Suitable for a light reading when looking for entertainment. More YA story than matured readers.

SLACKER888

Great Fun. This was a laugh riot. I seriously enjoyed reading it. I recommend giving it a chance.

BekahBek90

Not Worth My Time. Really tried to get into this book, but just couldn't connect with the characters. The pace of the book was so slow and too many details that weren't relevant. Found the heroine to be really fake, like she was trying to hard to be down to earth but just came off as really low class.

OnlyStreams

Ridiculous!. I love a good fantasy, but this was just silly. I struggled to finish, but was ever hopeful things would improve - sadly to no avail. Poorly written and unbelievable.

TORZ9185

Struggle to read !. I have given up at chapter 5! The female character carries on way to much and it's just boring!

ΔШΣSΩMΣ

Loved the book so so so so so much!!. Great book 5/5 stars absolutely loved it!! Definitely would recommend!!

JennaGray

Something in the Heir. An enjoyable light read

Powerboys mum

So so bad, it is embarrassing. This book is just cringeworthy. It is so bad it is hard to describe. I couldn't even read it all as I felt like I was wasting my life and only got as far as I did as I was sick in bed. I don't know anything about the author but it felt like an American writing about what they imagine British royalty to be like, in the way that American films always stereotype Brits to be ridiculously posh and all 'jolly good old chap' type rubbish or 'cockney sparrows'. All of the characters and just awful and the females are just the worst. You can't relate to them and the whole book is rubbish. Don't waste your time.

Mad romantic

Amazingggggg. This is actually the first book I've read and I sure do not regret it. It's an absolute romantic story with meaning. I couldn't even place my iPad down for a minute with haven't to take it everywhere with me to read. I'd recommend this to everyone who loves a little romance and Royal story.👸🏼
