Love love love. Love! One of my favorite books! Only parts I wasn’t really particularly okay with was him telling her to be quiet during spicy moments I was like what- lol but otherwise I loved it.

So smart and swoon worthy. Read this so fast, because I couldn’t stop. Maybe it was my own, personal graduate studies in Biology that brought this whole story to life. Picturing the university/lab setting, even visualizing the conference was wonderfully perfect. Love how smart and sexy this was written!

Team No Sleep. Previewed this book and then couldn’t put it down. The relationships in the story line are relatable. They all reminded me of my friendships and their relationships. It was great reading Olive’s story and how she managed to get through so much. Love it and recommend to anyone who likes romantic comedies!

Captivating. I fell so hard into the reality of this book the first time I read it and couldn’t put it down. I hit a slump for months not able to read anything else. I am back to read it for the second time and I’m so captivated. This is just what I needed to get back into reading but I wish she also had a book on Adams POV. I would have loved to read his thoughts when they first met each other in the labs bathroom.

Absolutely incredible. I was skeptical when I bought the book because I normally don’t like books set in academia, but my friends who’ve read it said to give it a shot. From the first chapter I was already in love with the book and by chapter 6 it quickly reached into one of my top five favorite books of all time.

Nice romance in the science scene. I liked the setting and characters of the story. A pretend relationship turned to a real one was the reason why I read this novel. But one thing I didn’t like was their first love making felt awkward and complicated with talk. Definitely not like other romance novel scenes.

First book. the first book I finished this year!! Whoo! And this is the first time I read about something STEM Academia setting type category. I’d say it is a breath of fresh air. I think I will be reading more from miss Ali’s books. They are light and fun to read.

The tropes. While this book was a lovely read with great chemistry between the heroine and the hero, the clichéd tropes were hard to overlook.

I get it. I was putting off reading this book because it was so popular and in my experience sometime the most popular books are not worth your time but… I totally get it. This is a good book! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Olive is the cutest- she’s smart and funny with just the right amount of low self worth to really make you cheer for her. Overall It’s a perfect rom com- it made me laugh, and gave me happy chest flutters. It was also surprisingly light but not empty. I would read this book again- and enjoy every moment.

MOST AMAZING BOOK. I read this book in one night. I could not put it down. Between the fake dating between Olive and Adam and the eventual progression of their relationship, I was melting by the end of the book. Absolutely recommend and will reread in the future!!!

The ending ):. I absolutely loved this book. The characters are my absolute favorite!! I had to go back a reread my favorite parts before reading the end because it was too good. When I finally let myself get to the final pages it just ended… like at the very best part. The epilogue also felt like an afterthought. I was left with needing so much more communication and emotion from them at the end. I am still not over it and probably never will be. Brb crying for the ending we deserve!!! Still giving 5 stars because of how much I just loved them together. Adam and Olive’s monologues are chefs kiss.

The book that made me fall in love with reading again.. This book was nothing short of absolutely amazing. The build up, the passion between the characters, and the storyline was perfect. Even though I’m not in academia or STEM, I thoroughly enjoyed looking through the glass of Hazelwood as she chronicles some of her experiences as a woman in academia through Olive. Not only that, the book feels so authentic and her voice feels like you’re talking to a friend while reading a hilarious story. I laughed out loud and said aww out loud multiple times. Read the excerpt for Love on the brain and now I’m so excited for it!! Again for the authentic voice that Ali brings to her books. Will be reading more form her for sure

my review. I absolutely LOVED this book. I’m not generally the type to read a book, nevertheless read it continuously throughout the night till dawn broke, but this novel sucked me in. The suspense between the two characters and the fact that they had met before made me want to know what both of their reactions would be to each other’s inner feelings. The slow-burn of Adam acting reluctant to Olives charm was incredibly enticing and made him seem mysterious and ominous.

Favorite Book of the Year. Maybe it’s the science nerd in me but this was one of my favorite books I’ve read this year along with Daisy Jones and The Six. This book was laugh out loud funny, gave me chills knowing what Olive’s career wins feel like, and the romance will make you ugly cry. Never wanted this book to end!
