Great book for life lessons and thoughts.. This is not an Bly a book about Will but about his life experiences and how you can use them for your own life situations. Highly recommend listening to this vs reading it!!! I listened to Will read this book and it made more of an impression and much more sense to what he was saying.

Surprisingly great book!. He’s a man who’s now aware of his flaws and the personality/ego he built to protect himself and those around him. It’s funny. It’s outrageous. And yet it still manages to deliver a story of transformation . . . An ongoing transformation, of course. Put aside everything you’ve heard and seen him do - the good, the foolish, the immature and everything in between. Read it. I think he’s transforming upwards.

OMG. This is the best book I’ve ever read.

Self Imposed Bubbles. I had this memoir on my list well before the infamous slap took place. I can unabashedly say he has been a favorite of mine for a long time. A positive representation of the black male experience in a forest of negative casting. Reading his memoir gives his life and the incident new meaning by adding fifty years of context into one of the world’s biggest personalities. What you see in the end Is that this memoir is about how we all can fall victim to navigating the universe through bubbles we place ourselves into. Over the course of these very personal and candid stories Will Smith shows us how these bubbles distort reality for better or worse. We get a backstage pass into the fear and need for approval that is at the root of his being and perhaps your own. In the most revealing moments we see how the misalignment of expectations has impacted his most intimate relationships. In that light the big Oscar moment makes more sense. People hate to say the word regret. As if it marks us as failures. I applaud Will Smith for leaning into his regrets and showing them for what they are. Lessons from the hindsight of reliving our mistakes and showing the humility to admit where we were wrong. In that revelation a new level of freedom sets in and allows for some of deepest spiritual and mental growth. Sometimes that freedom results in lifestyles we generally can’t understand but for Will and Jada make complete sense.

In love. This is so captivating,full of life lessons,humor, tears and honesty . I just loved it and I recommend it for everybody.

Good read.. I appreciated everything about the book. I read a lot of people’s comment about how much Will bragged. But I didn’t see it that way. As i read through the book I thought this is a man sharing what it’s like to live in stardom outwardly but struggle to find and enjoy the stardom within. This book highlighted multiple roles you have to play throughout life to finally understand who you are aside from the expectations of others. This book made me more a fan of and appreciate Will as a whole instead of just a celebrity. So check it out!

This is a great read. I’ve read the first three chapters and was hooked since chapter one. I’ve felt more connected to “Will” than ever before since reading this book. There’s so much more to be said, however, you’ll need to purchase and read it for yourself. #NoSpoliers

First book ever read in life!. I’ve never read a book before & I am currently 26 years old. From the first page “building that brick wall” I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. Also, the fact that I related to most of Will Smith’s life occurrences is another reason why I was so intrigued with this book. If I can give it 10 stars I would. Now I want to read more books like this 😂.

Book review by Pete T.. I just loved the book, laughed and cried throughout it. I can’t relate to the success in hip-hop, TVs, and movies that Will had (no one can) but I can relate to the family stories with Daddio, having an extremely loving mother as my bedrock, and brothers, sisters and friends that provided unconditional love to me throughout my life. I started reading the book before Will’s unfortunate slap down of Chris Rock, stopped reading it for a week, and then picked it up again with aplomb. You realize from reading the book that Will is a savant, complicated cat, DEEP thinker, and HARD worker but no ordinary person can reach the heights in rap, TV, and movies without some internal tumult. That’s what makes Will … Will, and I so appreciate him. When his Daddio was dying, he asked himself, “Did my Life Have Meaning”; when Will’s penultimate day comes and he asks himself that, the answer will be a resounding “YES”. (And btw, I loved Gigi.)

I love this book. Will tells us his life story, the good, the bad, and the ugly in a Will way.

Reveling and emotionally related to anyone. This is the kind of book that you should reading if you’re interested in improving your life, business or or career. A great story first hand of the perks of success, and build a life at the same time.

For the most part I did enjoy the book.. But I went past a lot, if not all, of Will going on and on and on about all of the spiritual, self discovery blah blah blah. It was boring. A little is okay but he went overboard.

Will. I’m a big fan of fresh prince (a.k.a will Smith) reading this book shocked me a lot. Reading about his life the true story about his life was just amazing and if will Smith does end up reading this review I just want him to know you did an amazing job because this book is just awesome.

Good. Surprisingly

As a husband, father, and a retired military man, I can relate.. This was a very quick and easy read, though it hit so many key life points that I personally can relate to. His story also gives people a glimpse into the “glamorous life” while showing you the work that required to achieve it and even when you’ve reached that pinnacle, problems will still be there.

Best book of 2021. I loved it. Easily the most transformative book I’ve read this year. The chapters "Surrender" and "Love" launched me on a journey for enlightenment. It’s some how a memoir and self help book all in one and I find myself quoting excerpts of the book to my students, colleagues, and family members all the time. Truly inspirational. Bravo!

What “Will Smith” is front-facing versus what Will Smith in his head and the problems of having everything but still struggling was very insightful to read. P.S. the thing with Jada and Gigi was wrong, but it was funny.

Good but…. I have been a big Smith fan for a long time. The beginning of the book kept me interested but I honestly got so turned off by his self congratulatory tales and attitude of self grandeur that I just couldn’t even finish it with just a few chapters left. Glad others enjoyed it.

Excellent Biography - Has depth. I am now a Will fan. For me this is one of those rare books that left me wishing for more, the end came to fast. As will tells his remarkable story of giant success and big failures his personality and character comes through with clarity. His insights into family and being a Man in a family have the wisdom baked in that comes only through experience. I am grateful for his honesty and careful reflection. He is someone who feels fully dedicated to self improvement and being a positive role model. Other reviewers criticized his bragging; honestly it hit me wrong many times while reading it as well but my opinion is that its there because thats who Will is and its who he needs to be. The book doesn’t suffer for it because now I feel like I know this guy and it will be easier to learn from his successes and failures as a result which for me is the purpose of reading a biography.
