The #1 Bestselling series!

RISE OF THE VALIANT is book #2 in Morgan Rice’s bestselling epic fantasy series KINGS AND SORCERERS (which begins with RISE OF THE DRAGONS)!

In the wake of the dragon’s attack, Kyra is sent on an urgent quest: to cross Escalon and seek out her uncle in the mysterious Tower of Ur. The time has come for her to learn about who she is, who her mother is, and to train and develop her special powers. It will be a quest fraught with peril for a girl alone, Escalon filled with dangers from savage beasts and men alike—one that will require all of her strength to survive.

Her father, Duncan, must lead his men south, to the great water city of Esephus, to attempt to free his fellow countrymen from the iron grip of Pandesia. If he succeeds, he will have to journey to the treacherous Lake of Ire and then onto the icy peaks of Kos, where there live the toughest warriors of Escalon, men he will need to recruit if he has any chance of taking the capital.

Alec escapes with Marco from The Flames to find himself on the run through the Wood of Thorns, chased by exotic beasts. It is a harrowing journey through the night as he quests for his hometown, hoping to be reunited with his family. When he arrives, he is shocked by what he discovers.

Merk, despite his better judgment, turns back to help the girl, and finds himself, for the first time in his life, entangled in a stranger’s affairs. He will not forego his pilgrimage to the Tower of Ur, though, and he finds himself anguished as he realizes the tower is not what he expects.

Vesuvius spurs his giant as he leads the Trolls on their mission underground, attempting to bypass The Flames, while the dragon, Theos, has his own special mission on Escalon.

With its strong atmosphere and complex characters, RISE OF THE VALIANT is a sweeping saga of knights and warriors, of kings and lords, of honor and valor, of magic, destiny, monsters and dragons. It is a story of love and broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is fantasy at its finest, inviting us into a world that will live with us forever, one that will appeal to all ages and genders.

Book #3 in KINGS AND SORCERERS will be published soon.

“If you thought that there was no reason left for living after the end of the Sorcerer’s Ring series, you were wrong. Morgan Rice has come up with what promises to be another brilliant series, immersing us in a fantasy of trolls and dragons, of valor, honor, courage, magic and faith in your destiny. Morgan has managed again to produce a strong set of characters that make us cheer for them on every page.…Recommended for the permanent library of all readers that love a well-written fantasy.”
--Books and Movie Reviews, Roberto Mattos (regarding Rise of the Dragons)

“[The novel] succeeds—right from the start…. A superior fantasy…It begins, as it should, with one protagonist's struggles and moves neatly into a wider circle of knights, dragons, magic and monsters, and destiny.…All the trappings of high fantasy are here, from soldiers and battles to confrontations with self….A recommended winner for any who enjoy epic fantasy writing fueled by powerful, believable young adult protagonists.”
--Midwest Book Review, D. Donovan, eBook Reviewer (regarding Rise of the Dragons)

AMAZING READ. An amazing continuation from the original book in the series (rise of the dragons). I bought this book the first day it came out and finished the entire thing that day. I couldn't put it down. An amazing read I would recommend to everyone.

Jazzminx2

Amazing books but. First book was amazing but this one won’t let me read after I bought it, don’t know what’s going on.

Not far out

Needs a good editor. I have not written a book review before but feel the need to do so with this Morgan Rice’s series. This fantasy is a great story line but there are so many errors with grammar, typos, use of wrong names, calling he a she, forgetting that a villain was killed in another book but wreaking havoc in another (unless it is a flashback to previous but no indication so far in Book 4), and the redundancy in repeating the same sentences or phrases in the same paragraph or page. All books have some errors missed by editors but how an editor can miss so many in this series is beyond me, especially since the readers are catching them. I will finish all the books in the series but the lack of sentence fluency, word choice, and organization, as well as, grammatical errors are interfering with my total engagement.

Bob’s imac

Very repetitive. The writing style of this book is bad!!! I like the story and characters, but it is way too repetitive. Every chapter ends with someone knowing that they are going to die now (which they never do) or knowing that they have found their destiny. And the spelling and grammatical errors are horrendous.

Acesilvermen

Poorly written. What a waste of money. So many inconsistencies. After she threw her staff pieces at the octopus before she went over the falls, how did she suddenly have it when they fought the army to free the girls? The characters always knowing they were about to die is getting old. They also keep having the same conversations over and over. I doubt I'll continue with this series. A waste of time.

StephenEButler

Gripping but redundant. This novel has captured my attention and excites me while reading. However, there are a myriad of grammar mistakes, run-on sentences and poor editing. The redundancy of each cliff hanger is also a sign of lazy writing. Every chapter seems to end with “and this, he knew, was how he would die” or “and with that, he new he was staring death in the face.” Though, inexplicably, the dog bites the enemy and everyone lives every single time. I appreciate being transported into a new world, but I wish the author, undoubtedly imaginative, had hired an editor (or, a competent editor) to review the countless repetitive patterns and mistakes.

MordInsight

A must read. One of the best story’s I have had the pleasure of reading, I am unable to stop reading.

CottonV

Too many little mistakes. Really wanted to like this book as I quite enjoyed the first. However, each chapter became too predictable. A character is in trouble and something happens that they are sure is going to be the end for them and two chapters later they are out of trouble. Also, too many editing mistakes that pull the reader out of the story. I will continue reading the series because I enjoy the story and world the author has built, but this book felt more like a gap filler

Dreadhead-original

Great story!. I'm enjoying these books a lot and can't wait for number 3 to release! Thanks to a wonderful author and story writer.

Kamiyah Reese

One of the best books I’ve ever read. So once I started reading nothing stoped me from finishing it. I must admit even though I’m a Wings of Fire fan this might be just as outstanding as Wings of Fire, if not than better. Rise of the Valiant makes me want to be just like the one of characters named Kyra. So I hope you read this review and love the book just like I do.

Zigmundites

The story is good but the writing is god awful. These people giving it 3-5 stars must not value good writing. I Rice has some decent characters and a mediocre plot but he really needs an editor. I read the whole series because I have a personal rule to finish a series I start but this series was the hardest read ever. Every single book is littered with typos and grammatical errors. He calls characters by the wrong name when clearly talking about other characters. I think the worst part about his writing though is he constantly repeats the sentences and events that should be singular such as "for the first time in his/her life." Kyra feels like she is going to die/feels loved/feels alive/knows her purpose for the first time ever about 87 times each throughout the series. These books seriously are just a cash grab by Rice who cranks them out super fast and doesn't bother with anyone to edit it or read it or if he does he should fire them and let my 7 month old do it. He can't do any worse. Don't waste your time the mediocrity of the books is not worth the trash writing.

Popper427

Repetitions. Usage of repetitions often and frequent even in the same paragraph. Her heart sank, his heart sank etc., not enough personality in character. A lot of typos and grammar errors. I enjoyed the first book, but could not finish this book. Story also try to extend with more useless words or adding additional unnecessary info. Descriptions of almost everything is vague.

CignoNero

Terrible editing. The series was entertaining but there are SO MANY FLAWS in the story that made it more and more difficult to follow as you go along. Someone is kidnapped, then magically in the next chapter they are somehow back at the same place, wrong names, characters being in more than one place... There is also a noticeable decline in vocabulary and adjectives. The same line and description is used over and over again. Maybe best for a young reader, or someone who doesn’t retain details. It passes the time

Zeusboo

Rise of the valiant. Another action packed fantasy from the great Morgan Rice!

GammaPro

Horribly disappointing. The book has good ideas, but horrible execution in the writing. Cliffhanger chapter endings when you know the writer won't let any real harm come to the character. The armies in this book defy all practical tactical logic.

Simbahkimbah

rise of the valiant. normally never pick up this kind of book- gladly surprized and enjoying the series. love the way its written.

John Frosted

Waiting for the Land Sharks. Well written characters, but the author seems to like throwing impossible challenges against them over and over them instead better character development. If you are not a main character in this story, then you are cannon fodder, ready to be eaten, stabbed, drowned, pushed off a cliff, or simply wasted for plot effect. The author had come up with very inventive ways to die, but there is just too much of it. Life for the secondly unnamed characters is too cheap, especially when the sun is out, a few puffy clouds are in the air, and everything is doing well. That’s the time something new pops up to start munching on everybody. There are just too many unexplained, uncoordinated and unjustified teeth in this story to make it very good. My only positive comment is I want to know what happens next...

Great book. This was another great book! A few more spelling errors than the last one but I could care less, I am hooked on the series and have already purchased the rest of them

Bbgirl1977

Amazing book!!!. Love this series!!

Jorohama

Great read but too many repetitions and overuse of same writing formulas.... “Heart slamming”... repeated so many times throughout the books it becomes annoying. Predictable chapter endings. The formula seems to be the same for most of them. Soon enough, the reader can anticipate how pretty much any chapter will end. Yet, an overall enjoyable read.

Snotty nose

Someone needs to grammar check these books. A rather repetitive story line. Entertaining but repetitive. My biggest gripe is the grammar and spelling mistakes. Really unacceptable in 2019.

Mariashajil

Awesome read!!!. Thoroughly enjoyed the adventures of the valiant characters that Morgan Rice created!

AVeryOTH

Frustrating!. Love the ideas in this series, though the writing is at times awkward and clumsy. The numerous (there's sooooo many!!) editing errors are driving me crazy and ruining the enjoyment I might have gained from the interesting storyline!

Samurai kiwi

Good read. Good story and if not for multiple editing errors would have been 5 star

Sid72

Badly written. Possibly a good story in there, but it's so badly written it's hard to tell, so many mistakes it's practically unreadable.

Anonymous18945q1

Wonderful free😀😃😄😁😆😅😂🤣😎🤓🤗🤠😍😚😉. Awesome

Shai-Ben

Rise of the Valiant. As usual, keeps you wanting more.

FlyingWithDragons

A series that makes me feel like I’m living the adventure. Two books down and I still need to know what happens next. Small errors and typos can be forgiven because it’s just such a fantastic read. It completely absorbs me into the pages and I can feel myself living in the characters minds and worlds.

Arago4254

Rise of the valiant. Great book loved it best series ever can not wait for book 4

Tomstod

Great Book But. This is a great book and series but there are a lot of characters and not a lot of pages, so takes ages for anything to happen individually. Seems money grabbing, should have just put books together rather than making multiple books to make more money.

LeeBurnley666

Wow what a waste of words. Never before have a felt so compelled to write a review about a book, this is truly shocking it's like a small child wrote it, gaping plot holes (and or turning up at the tower??) poor grammar, and endless repeating repeating repeating of the same basic text ( yes I know the building is made of ice you have told me several times in the space of four paragraphs!!) please read this just to tell me if I'm going mad and being overly harsh. £2.99 is way too much for this drivel
