Wow. Insanely good.. The twists and turns in this book are unmatched. You truly don’t see any of these things coming as the story unfolds. It keeps you wanting more and wanting to know how it all ends. I do think it could of been a little shorter but this story really is worth the read.

Grotesque. Grotesque. The subject matter isn’t something anybody should want to read. You learn about things that exist in the world that you would never know or want to know. However, there’s no way to know this from the information about the book, which I think is this concerning. I kept thinking there would be some kind of twist to make it not so horrible but it just got worse and worse. There should be some kind of disclaimer.

Oh Athens. It was so weird reading a book about my hometown but I Could not stop reading this book. It was the perfect storyline. I love this author now.

Not for the squeamish. This book was great. It had a good plot. My issue is that there’s a lot of questions that were left unanswered. Also the switch between the characters would have been more helpful to carry along if they told you at the beginning of the chapter who you were reading from (their POV). Instead of having to figure it out in the chapter because they introduce so many characters that you get a little confused for like the first 50 pages until you sort it all out in your head. I will say that this story had a lot of vulgar, sick and twisted parts that are not for everyone. I wouldn’t recommend this book to my grandmother, but I would recommend it to true crime fans and people that enjoy watching/reading about true crime. So expect to feel a bit uncomfortable if you aren’t comfortable with that sort of thing.

Gripping page turner. Very intense, a real page turner that may cause you to lose some sleep! It is disturbing, almost sick, definitely not for the faint of heart or anyone that may be triggered by sexual violence. I honestly don’t like reading that stuff but I had to find out what happened so I kept reading it. It is a good one that will stick with you.

I heard it as audiobook!. This was so captivating to listen too, as audio is 20 hours really more like 17 hours bc the last 2 hours are another book included is this book(prequel). It was a thriller in the sense that u see one character really have character wake up.

Could not put this down!. I finished this in about a day and a half! If you are looking for a fast paced thriller-page turner look no further. 100% recommend.

Amazing book that reads like a horror movie you can’t look away from. I loved this book in all it’s darkness. I read in about a day & a half- as I spent any moment of free time turning page after page. It was easy to picture every detail in my head as I read each sentence- flicking together scenes like a thrilling horror movie in my mind, playing along as each word was read. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone in search of a dark thriller they won’t be inclined to put down.

Soooooooo long. I really wanted to like this book. It was soooooooo long. Soooooo many pages. I feel like the story really could have been condensed to like 300 pages less. I didn’t like the diary parts they were so long and so boring. The story line is okay. It is definitely disturbing, but there is so much fluff in it that made me bored by the time I got to the exciting parts I was annoyed because I just spend 50 pages reading about nothing that was interesting.

Holy gore. What a page turner. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. Was almost like a horror movie. This author has a dark mind and writes outstandingly.

Mystery. It was hard for me to finish the book because as you read on the killing got worse. It is well written just not my cup of tea.

It’s really not that gory…. This is a decent novel. Lots of twists; some very predictable, some that really throw you off. As far as the explicit content, it did not bother me at all. Maybe I’m extremely desensitized, but I didn’t read anything that really merited the reviews of how disturbing the descriptions are. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most stomach churning gore, I’d say it’s about a 4. Some cons are, the pacing in the first 150-200 pages is like trudging thru mud and took some effort to stay interested, but then it starts unfolding fast after that. And it’s not the most original storyline. Otherwise, it’s fine.

Fantastic Read!. I read this book in 2 days! Super exciting I’m the beginning, middle, and end. Does have strong themes of sexual assault, so prepare yourself for that before starting this book. A must-read for a crime junkie!

WOW. What an amazing read. It took me a few chapters to understand the story, and after that I couldn’t put it down I read it over the course of two days, and I wish it was longer! So well written, and yes, it is a touch graphic, but it didn’t take away from the gripping story line. I found myself skipping forward because I was overly excited lol. It’s a must read for anyone who enjoys crime/mystery/thrillers. Highly recommend!!!

Fanfriggentastic. Finally, a novel that ripped me out of my reality. This story sucked me into a world of horror, so real I could not only picture it in my mind but feel through my skin and taste in my mouth. Once I had it figured out I was violently jolted sideways into another direction. Emotionally drained I am left contemplating life, lost life, and trying to figure out why I'm bawling. Wow!!!

Too much. It was really engaging but, honestly, I wish I hadn’t read it. It was too graphic and disturbing. I would read other books by the author - I liked the style, didn’t love the subject...

Incredible Thriller But Also Incredible Violence. This book was an absolute page turner. I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next. Really well written and just an awesome thriller. BUT, if you’re at all uneasy with violence against women, this is not a book for you. The depictions the author laid out were vivid, graphic and gut-wrenching. Very disturbing-you’ll need a strong stomachs to not let some of the subject matter affect you.

Spoilers!. Very good book although I would change one thing. The murder in the book dies and in my head it would have been better had Claire outsmarted him, tortured him and instead of killing him he gets arrested and spends his life in jail. I wanted him to comment on how what she did (the fire/gun/surprised him with the burner phone location) was unexpected and how she always kept him guessing and that’s why she was different and he really did love her. Overall a very good book with some twists and things I couldn’t guess. I wish there was a bit of an unspoken romance between Claire and the FBI agent also. I wanted him to come off as a bit of a safe place or savior and his position was sort of unclear until the end. I wanted her to still not trust him but for him to be trustworthy to the reader.

🤭🤭🤭. This book is soooooooo good. But definitely be prepared for some really F***d up stuff. I couldn’t put the book down and I loved the ending! This is the second book I’ve read by this Author and she does not disappoint. I will be reading more of her work!!!!

Page turner!. This book was a page turner and I couldn’t wait to finish it, however by the end of the book it started to fill like it was dragged out way to long, at first the plot was great but as the book got closer to the end the author started adding more and more to the plot to where it was almost overdone, also I could have done without the graphic violence and had to skip over some of those parts that I felt was way to detailed. But overall I did enjoy reading the book it kept me guessing till the end and was actually surprised at how the book ended, so good book if you are into mystery’s and don’t mind some overdone violent scenes..

Graphic yes, disturbing yes, but that’s not why the low review.. The low review is because the writing is just not good. The story is absurdly outlandish and so CSI: Miami sequel. Cheap thriller I would have expected to see on the free reads list. I just couldn’t take the writing seriously. It was way too corny and cheap if you know what I mean. She could have gone so many routes with this story and written something with substance. Instead I got something with a James Bond style villain. Stupid read.

Quite possibly the scariest book I’ve ever read. Do not read this book if you can’t handle a horrifying psycho thriller that details rape, torture, and murder. It is suspenseful and a page turner, but only to find yourself left with an eerie, uneasy feeling. I was able to finish the book, but I probably could have gone through life without reading it.

Heartbreakingly wonderful. Not for the faint of heart, but worth the disturbance. If you’ve lost a family member in a traumatic way it grips you from understanding the characters pain and longing to know the truth.

Audiobook Narrator sounds like a robot. A few times I thought it was an actual robot I was listening to. That’s making it kind of boring and hard to follow for the first few chapters. Hopefully it gets better like everyone’s saying.
