The #1 New York Times bestselling novel that picks up where the “tight, right, and dynamite” (Star Tribune, Minneapolis) The Last Man left off, The Survivor is a no-holds-barred race to save America…and Mitch Rapp’s finest battle.

When Joe “Rick” Rickman, former golden boy of the CIA, steals a massive amount of the Agency’s most classified documents in an elaborate betrayal of his country, CIA director Irene Kennedy has no choice but to send her most dangerous weapon after him: elite covert operative Mitch Rapp.

Rapp quickly dispatches with the traitor, but Rickman proves to be a deadly threat to America even from beyond the grave. In fact, mysterious tip-offs are appearing all over the world, linking to the potentially devastating data that Rickman managed to store somewhere only he knew.

It’s a deadly race to the finish as both the Pakistanis and the Americans search desperately for Rickman’s accomplices, and for the confidential documents they are slowly leaking to the world. To save his country from being held hostage to a country set on becoming the world’s newest nuclear superpower, Mitch Rapp must outrun, outthink, and outgun his deadliest enemies yet in this heart-pounding adventure that proves that Vince Flynn “is a master—maybe the master—of thrillers in which the pages seem to turn themselves” (Bookreporter).

The Survivor. Good but not great. It kind of irks me when the new writer doesn't make the transition smoothly. After the number of books Charlie Wicker has appeared in as a member of Coleman's team, everyone knows his nickname was "Slick," not Wick as listed in this book. That is an attention to detail Vince Flynn would not have missed.

Wonderful. Thank you Mr. Mills. Your work finishing Vince Flynn's last novel was extraordinary. Your effort gave us one last book from my favorite author. Great read! Marge

SIMPLY COULDN'T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!. Now what I'm I going to do with out more mesmerizing Mitch Rapp books . . . . I know, get some well deserved sleep!

Mitch is Back. Waited over two years for this book. It was worth the wait. Kyle picked up very nicely where Vince left off. Book brought in some items from previous books to make it feel that Vince never left. Mitch is the same rough and tough Operative no it is good to know that hopefully he will continue to search and destroy in a way that only Mitch can. Welcome back Mitch.

The Survivor. I have read all the Reacher books, and all of the Flynn/Rapp books. I decided to take a chance on Kyle. My apprehension was, that Lee Child’s son started to co-write the Reacher books. Not a fan. I will reread Reacher from time to time. So I threw the dice with Kyle. Bottom line, I was very impressed. Good storytelling, edgy, and fulfilling. Reading the future Rapp books will be great!

Poor substitute. Really wanted to like this because I loved the Vince Flynn Mitch Rapp series. The new writer spends way too much time on dialogue about politics, etc. just isn't the same fast acting fast action that flynn use to provide. Boring.

So happy to have Mitch back!. Thank you, Kyle Mills, for continuing this series. You did an amazing job of continuity. Those of us who have read and re-read Vince Flynn's books would be the harshest critics but there was absolutely nothing that went off character. I sincerely hope you are able to continue the series, especially as Mitch is ready to move on emotionally! I can also say that I have enjoyed all of Kyle Mill's other books.

He did it. I had doubts about another author being able to carry on Vince Flynn's series, which has been one of my favorites. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I'm hoping for more. RIP Vince, but thankfully, Mitch lives on.

Didn't disappoint. Good read!. This was a really good read. Although there was a new author involved, the storytelling and feel was consistent with the rest of the Mitch Rapp series. Nice job keeping Vince Flynn's legacy alive. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Survivor. Wasn't sure that Mitch would be Mitch without Vince Flynn. Well done Kyle! A great novel with Mitch and all the crew at their best.

The Survivor. Kyle Mills. Mitch Rapp and the CIA director are highly respected team. Admired and feared. The president of Pakistan is being marked for murder by one of his top staff members. Only Mitch stands in his way. Another excellent read in this series!!

Excellent Book. Continues the tradition of Vince, I enjoyed this book. Keep them coming.

Rutbuster

Thank you!!!!. As good as any book in the Mitch Rapp series. Kyle, thank you and please continue the Rapp legacy.

The Survivor. Loved this series from the start. I think the new author substituted violence in this book for the humaneness in the other novels. This wasn't Mitch Rapp. Please rediscover his passion and vulnerability.

Posthumous formula. I've read all of Vince Flynn's books, and had come to feel that the more recent books were becoming more and more predictable and formulaic. I still enjoyed them, but things just were not what they once were. After Mr. Flynn's untimely death in 2013, Kyle Mills takes over the Mitch Rapp stories, and he continues in the same vein. This story continues a plot line begun in "The Last Man," and be fair, it is interesting. It's just not GREAT, and that's too bad. Rapp has become dour and introspective, and that makes for way too many pages of boredom, in my view. Mills does write action well, though, and I was engrossed in those scenes. The book is well worth a read if you are a Rapp fan, but it's not a starting point and it's not among the very best Rapp stories.

Gary43

Another great Mitch Rapp story. Kyle Mills continues the Mitch Rapp character in as superb of a fashion as he was created by Vince Flynn. Can't wait for the next adventures of Rapp.

Missknitsalot

Mitch Rapp is alive and well!. I wasn't sure how I would like the continuation of Vince Flynns characters in Kyle Mills hands, but my concerns proved to be nothing. For the most part, this book flows seamlessly from "The Last Man". I found the plot intriguing and multi-layered, but not overly complicated. Entertaining and a good read. Well done!

Not worthwhile at all. Poor Vince Flynn. They should have left his great memory alone. This so-called "Mitch Rapp" novel is a bust. The substitute author has no sense of Flynn's actual literary voice. The story lacks believability, and there are endless errors of grammar. This Kyle Mills guy, the new "Flynn/Rapp" writer who fails the reader, is clueless when it comes to pronouns and antecedents. Flynn always understood what Rapp was about. There are passages in this new book that highlight Rapp as superhuman, and these descriptions show how little Mills understands the character. There is no true sense of place. By the time we've leapfrogged to Russia, the story becomes silly. I wonder what it's like to be a fake Robert Ludlum and then a fake Vince Flynn the way Mills is? Doesn't he want his own identity?

Alexjames2

Rapp does it again!. I've read all of the Flynn novels and once again he knocks it out of the park. Well written, climactic, and the new author writes just as well as Flynn did. I can't wait for the 3 more books coming soon!

Grateful Fan

The Survivor. I've read all of Vince Flynn's books. The Survivor rates right up at the top. As with all of Vince's work, I had a difficult time putting this book down. Kyle Mills did an amazing job completing the story. Thank you for an extremely enjoyable read.

Cleanup on aisle 7. Good story but we need a better editor here: "Beyond being entirely deaf—a relatively trivial problem since it was unlikely he would survive another five minutes—Hotaki was completely unharmed. He heard the spinning of tires"

Timmy8028

Good...but a little too islamiphobic. Love being able to continue the Mitch Rapp story, as he is such a great character! The new author is a little too over the top with the mindset of some of the main protagonists who are of course Muslims. I know this is popcorn book reading, but some of it is a little too silly, Vince at least tried to keep it borderline realistic. I have enjoyed it for the most most part and hope future novels will be even better.

Survivor. Another one you’ll not be able to put down!!!

Not written by Vince Flynn, god rest his soul.. This book is an awful waste of time, there is nothing in common with Vince Flynn's fantastic talent, it was written by a wanna-be author that will always be just that, as wanna-be no talent writer. Kyle Mills has a lot of nerve using Vince Flynn's name on the cover of this book in an effort to trick people into buying it, don't waste your time on this turkey.

Jake from Shakopee

Loved "The Survivor". Kyle Mills! Great job. Loved the book. Couldn't put it down. Vince Flynn would be proud.

Sspphoto

Boring. Boring. The "action" in this book is surrounded and bogged down by so much rhetoric, theory and background information that it leaves the reader begging for the book to be over. Nothing like the writing in the previous books in the series. All it does is reiterate all the information in the previous books. Sad way for the series to end, but hopefully they stop it here.

Bus driver23

The Survivor. Hard to put down. Great action. Very serious subject but also has humor.

The survivor. Great book Long story arc The book delivered

The survivor is awesome !. Carrying on a great tradition

Stringbeanjeen

The survivor. Fast moving and hard to put down Some bad characters like in real life situations

Ken22458

GOOD BOOK. I have followed Vince Flynn/ Mitch Rapp for more than twenty five years. When they were on Books-On-Tape. Mitch is a character, that we (America) could right now, in the world.

7/15/2013

The Suvivor. So wanted to enjoy Mitch Rapp again. He's "almost" the same character, but he has lost some of his sex appeal. So many of my friends are "in love" with the old Mitch. Enjoyable book but the pace is not quite the same and I couldn't move along quickly with this one like the others. Still a great read though. Thank you for bringing Mitch back to us!

Froggieut

The Survivor. Another great Mitch Rapp novel. Kevin Mills picks up right where Vince Flynn left off.

Excellent.. The excellent "Mitch Rapp" series continues.

The Survivor. This was a great book. Vince Flynn would be proud of this book. I hope that the Mitch Rapp series continues.

Jpbreno

Best sub writer. Rapp was just as exciting thank you for keeping him alive

Cinq Cepages

Very good. The ending could have used a bit more thought but exhaustion must have set in……

Mstrpara

The Survivor. Congratulations, great read, not sure if Mr.Flynn had started the book, regardless kept the standard. Should there be other books(I hope so), tone Rapp's language down, i.e. with the Senator and death threats concerning president and replacement CIA director--loose lips, out of character--minor comment.

JRod_ATX

Great read!. All you negative Nancy's posting bad comments about how poorly the book is written are clueless and show your true ignorance. You realize that at least half or more of this book was already written by Vince before Kyle Mills, who is a very good author, got tasked with finishing it. If you halfway followed his Twitter account or just looked at it you would know that. So you're just being pricks to be pricks. I loved Vince too and there will never be another but give it a break because this book is great!

Polo's Master

The Survivor. Kyle Mills has succeeded in bringing Mitch Rapp into our homes again, with the same intensity and accuracy we would have seen from Vince Flynn, himself. It was a tragic loss to the literary world when Vince succumbed to his illness at such a young age...but Mitch Rapp seems to be in good hands. In this story, we follow Mitch and his team, as they work against time, and a corrupt head of Pakistan's ISI...to gather the files of Joe Rickman, the dead former CIA bureau chief who's last task was to embarrass Irene Kennedy, Mitch Rapp and the entire CIA network. Follow Irene, Mitch, Stan Hurley and the last of the "good guys", as they travel around the globe, to rid the civilized world of yet another group of madmen bent on taking down the U.S. Government, and all that it stands for...go get 'me, Mitch!!!

INFJ-male

Kyle WORTHY Successor!. From this Septuagenarian "Mitch Is Back"! IMO Kyle Mills has taken considerable time to recreate the initial style, details and flow we found so exciting in the earlier books. I was hooked within the first page. The pacing is right and the sequencing of the plot development confirms Mr. Mills has taken this challenge seriously. There are two concerns: It is my wish that both Mr. Mills and the publisher commit to additional publishing.... Only, if the significant time, patience and goal of maintaining this level of composition. Mitch Rapp has become an alter ego for many of us and I would miss him greatly! But, neither writer or publisher should become victim to this success. In other words, don't get greedy. Let Kyle Mills write to his high standards of creativity and quality. Here is, again IMO, a very good writer that with out the pressures to publish, will continue to excel. My second concern is the price creep that has reappeared. No, I'm not going to suffer financial crisis with these prices for a book I can neither share nor donate. Within a few months, the big book store will have it discounted further. I realize ebooks can be shared with other readers on various devices. But for apple iBooks , which can not be share...nor do we have ownership of the book--I believe Apple would benefit by giving its devoted users a break. As a reader of all of Mr. Flynn's books; the GREAT and the "not as Great" books...I suggest to at least download the "sample". Once you open the "book" it will feel like an old shoe:)

It Was Okay. Vince was Vince...what can I say?

The Survivor. I thought the book was fairly decent. Had the feel the Mr. Flynn wrote it.

3rd time reading this book.. Still 5 stars.

Good Job!. Love it! Great job carrying the torch Kyle. I'm sure it was no small task.

I’ll be back for more. Mills continues the Rapp legacy and honors Flynn with Survivor. Didn’t want to think it could live up to the work of his predecessor, but upon review Mills puts together a sensational and vivid adventure. Very well done.

MRD

Vince Flynn "Survives". The Survivor picks up where "The Last Man" ends. Rapp and Company must deal with the effects of CIA Analyst Joe 'Rick' Rickman's leaked CIA DOCS including a NOC list. I have been an extreme Flynn fan since I read Term Limits in 1999. Every one of his books have a high degree of "reread-ability" and this one is no different. Kyle Mills done a wonderful job of sustaining Vince's style as well as his characters. He introduces the reader to his own style a bit, and does so cautiously, while paying respect to Vince, and the Rapp Army. Fun book from start to finish, you will NOT be disappointed!!! I also highly recommend the unabridged audiobook read by George Guidall-AWESOME! VINCE LIVES ON FOREVER!!!!

Manonthegrassyknoll

The Survivor. Great book, very solid, a great read!! Cant wait for the next one

Sspeidel

Kyle Mills is worthy of the Mitch Rapp legacy. I read all the Vince Flynn novels; then the SOB up and died. I held off on buying the Kyle Mills books in the series. I was wrong. The characters are well drawn, and the plot pulls you in when you should be going to bed. You’ve been warned. Vince Flynn stories still murder your sleep.

The survivor. Wonderful job by Kyle. Glad to see Mitch Rapp still going strong. Enjoyed the book very much. Hope to have more of this series.

The Survivor. Another great book from the Mitch Rapp series. I have read them all so far and look forward to the next.

Mitch is back and I'm happy about it.. I thought Kyle did a solid job with Mitch's character and storyline. Had to be pretty stressful following Vince's legacy. Well done Kyle. I enjoyed the story and seeing Mitch once again running roughshod over the bad guys. I look forward to his next adventure. To Vince's family: thank you for allowing the fans to continue following the legacy Vince created.

Mitch Rapp is back. The Survivor takes up where the previous book left off. A traitorous CIA agent has revealed secrets and has released documents after his death. The book answers questions left from the earlier storyline and is fast-paced fun. So glad Mitch's story will continue!

Hello Kitty 925

Mitch Rapp at his BEST. Loved this book. The book feels like real life, ripped from the headlines. I am so glad that the legacy can continue.

2 days. I read the entire thing in 2 days because every spare second I had was dedicated to this book. It was extremely difficult to put down, and I'm very upset that I'm already back to waiting for another Rapp novel! Kyle Mills did a fantastic job continuing this series and I'm extremely impressed. So excited for the next one!

CI-BORG

SURVIVED MY DOUBTS. Generally I'm hesitant reading books by authors no longer with us. But Kyle Mills must have shared his keyboard with Vince Flynn's spirit and any doubts I may have had survived through this well written continuation in the Mitch Rapp series. Thank you Mr. Kyle for keeping my attention as I read page after page every spare minute I had these last few days.

Ericandi

As good as ever. I didn't think it was possible, but Kyle Mills has picked up right where Vince Flynn (RIP), left off. I hope this is the first of many Kyle Mills Mitch Rapp books.

RayTrader

The Survivor. Pretty good. I have been usually disappointed with most legacy efforts but in this one, the atmosphere and pace are true to the original and the good guys win again.

FlyGuy1231

A fantastic continuation of Vince Flynn's legacy, Terrific work Kyle Mills. Being a long time Vince Flynn/Mitch Rapp fan I was skeptical, to say the least, when I heard another Author was continuing the Mitch Rapp series. Similar feats have been attempted over the years with, IMHO, miserable results. Kyle Mills on the other hand has done it. He kept Vince's characters true to form, and the writing style very similar while incorporating his own unique writing talent into the novel. Fast paced, exciting and everything you'd expect from a Vince Flynn/Mitch Rapp novel. I'm not one to spoil an excellent story so buy it and enjoy. I'm looking forward to more Mitch Rapp stories from Kyle Mills and have no doubt he'll continue to write fantastic stories for us all while preserving Vince's legacy and Mitch Rapp's legend! Thank you Kyle Mills for an excellent novel!
