Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson
Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson Book Summary
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, the Mistborn series is a heist story of political intrigue and magical, martial-arts action.
Three hundred years after the events of the Mistborn trilogy, Scadrial is now on the verge of modernity, with railroads to supplement the canals, electric lighting in the streets and the homes of the wealthy, and the first steel-framed skyscrapers racing for the clouds.
When family obligations forced Waxillium Ladrian to forsake the frontier lands and return to the metropolis of his birth to take his place as head of a noble House, he little imagined that the crime-fighting skills acquired during twenty years in the dusty plains would be just as applicable in the big city. He soon learned that there too, just being a talented Twinborn — one who can use both Allomancy and Feruchemy, the dominant magical modes on Scadrial — would not suffice.
This bustling, optimistic, but still shaky society will now face its first test by terrorism and assassination, crimes intended to stir up labor strife and religious conflict. Wax, his eccentric sidekick Wayne, and brilliant, beautiful young Marasi, now officially part of the constabulary, must unravel the conspiracy before civil strife can stop Scadrial’s progress in its tracks.

Not as good as the previous series. I read all books in mistborn series, all of them are so good u can't put them down. For this one I need to force myself finishing the book. Characters are lack of depth this time, plots are straight forward except for some, connection with first novel are weak, and the feeling of "altered and mystical " world is fading. I'm always a big fan of Brandon Sanderson, however I think this is one of his worst. Wish he will be picking up his magical writing again in future novels.
Too Expensive. Not buying it. What a rip off of your loyal readers. You should be ashamed.
Amazing!. Loved it as every other Sanderson book. Ending is awesome. Couldn’t believe it!
Compelling and deeply involving. I find this short book very compelling and refined; with intricate characters that feel alive, and a deep plot that draws you in. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Seriously?. I've been anticipating this book for months and it's 250 pages.... I'm sure it's a great book but 6 cents a page is way to expensive... Lame
Money money. 15 bucks for 250 pages. Have read every book up to slow regard of silent things, and said the 8 bucks for 75 pages was a money grab. This isn't much better and I will be supporting other authors, though Sanderson is still one of my favorites....would rather buy a trilogy for 15.
Another great entry. This book started a bit slow to me but wow did it pick up to a point where you really feel for the main character. There’s also some terrific comedy and I’m really digging this world
Amazing book and amaizing series. I have read the entire mist born series and cant wait for the next one.. The story telling in these series is beautifully executed.. keeping the readers interested to the very end of each book.. each book surpassing it's predecessor in the brilliant and unique way the plot is delivered keeps the reader riveted till the end.. My thanks to Brandon for helping us engage our minds and imagination while reading these books. His books are truly worth reading..
Fantastic. Loved it
So good. Awesome trilogy!
Awesome. Another great book by my current favorite author
No words. ...
Awesome. my only complain is that its a little short. That said quality makes up for quantity. the plot twists in this book hit like lightning bolts. The sanderson avalanche strikes again!!
Mistborn. The book does cost a little too much, but it is longer then 250 pages. It's just over 400 pages, which is still not enough to justify the price, but if you're a Mistborn fan like me you will probably buy it anyway. If not then you can always wait until the price goes down, or you can go to your local library and read it for free.
Excellent. Brandon does it again.
