About Glynnis Campbell

When she's not writing swashbuckling historical romances and playing medieval matchmaker, bestselling author Glynnis Campbell (also writing as Sarah McKerrigan and Kira Morgan) is a cartoon voice, the wife of a rock star, and the mother of two young adults. She's been a ballerina, a typographer, a film composer, a piano player, a singer in an all-girl rock band, and a voice in those violent video games you won't let your kids play. She does her best writing on cruise ships, in Scottish castles, on her husband's tour bus, and at home in her sunny southern California garden. Glynnis loves transporting readers to a place where the bold heroes have endearing flaws, the women are stronger than they look, the land is lush and untamed, and chivalry is far from dead!

Very well written. Pulled me into the story and kept me there. It is action packed and steamy.

I’m happy

I was riveted all the way to the end (barely put the book down). Pagan & Deidre’s characters, and story was well written. The author did leave obvious clues as to the next book and the characters (Helena & Colin). I’m more eager to learn about Miriel’s future husband and if anyone will figure out that Sung Li is “The Shadow” and have been secretly teaching Miriel to fight. Great book and I do like this author’s work so far.

I really liked this book, despite some of the lesser reviews(if you don’t like the language of the times, don’t read it, try expanding your dialect) Glynis’s Campbell has become of of my favorite historical romance authors and this book is just more reason why. The way she transcends the story and really creates characters that are relatable, it’s just amazing! Great read! Always excited to follow up with the next book.

This is the second time I read this book, but it was real good. I started on my iPad about 2013. I have followed Ancestry and found Scottish. English and Irish on my list. I am way back some of my ancestors lived this life.

After I got a few chapters in I couldn’t put this book down. I was hoping it would be mildly entertaining. It was exciting, the story line unique, and the sexual tension was top notch. It could have been richer with a little more detail. But it really lacks nothing. I’m sure I’ll be re-reading this one.

Great read

Was hoping for a strong female character that isn’t trodden all over... I’ve never been so frustrated and angry reading a book

Historically inaccurate in some places. Silk, for instance didn’t arrive to Scotland until the 1300’s. But a fun romp of a read.

Glynnis Campbell is now one of my favorite writers! She can tell a story so well you feel like you are in the book!

I loved reading how these women carried out their retribution against what they thought of as usurpers.

Loved and hated the main character Deirdre. Too headstrong for her own good. It was annoying to see her think she knows everything and to think she was always right. Overall, the story was well written, but the stubbornness of the character made the it unlikeable.

This author is my absolute favorite. The books are so well written. Great characters and the story line had me hooked from the start. The strong female character is powerful without being stupid. The male is is equally as strong without being mean. They just fit together so well. Not once did the book get boring. I will be buying the rest of this authors books!

Loved it.

Great book

A wonderfully action packed love story set in a castle on the Scot border. Female characters that represent everything a real woman can be, & heroic male characters that embody the best of what men should be.

Difficult to get into- but enjoyable if can make it through the boring first third of the book

Glynnis Campbell has begun a riveting new series with Lady Danger. Relatable, interesting characters that keep you entertained. A plot with twists and turns keep it moving. I couldn’t put it down. This books deserves a 20, but 5 is the best, so that’s the rating. ENJOY!

I love books that are dated as this story is but I’m wasn't born then nor do I want to read as they talked then. It’s confusing and not worth reading. You can write a story in this time period the way we talk now and it will have the same meaning.

Loved the strong women story line and the story line was great, too!!

This was a hard story to get into at first. It seems as though the male lead (Pagan) is too wrapped up in his own nonsense to realize how awesome the female lead (Deirdre) is. It's only through third-party intervention that the story changes, which I found rather unfortunate. It would've been nice to see Pagan realize his error on his own. On the whole, an amazing novel, well-researched, and good fun. With a lighter touch and longer manuscript, this could've been another Outlander.

Wow! I absolutely loved this story! Glynnis Campbell certainly has a talent for drawing the reader in with her detailed descriptions of her characters, including their conflicting emotions. Honor, respect, courage, trust, responsibility --- qualities important to both Deirdre & Pagan --- make them special. I enjoyed the careful language (wording) they used in their "deal-making". Thanks, Ms. Campbell, for the pleasure your book gave me.

I could not turn the pages fast enough & ended up reading this book in one day. Great story & characters. I look forward to reading more from Glynnis Campbell!

Heroin was a little too stubborn but still loved the book.

Very fun read. Loved it.

I enjoyed every word written. Looking forward to your other books.

Excellent romance that kept your interest on every page. Loved the strong willed women & their courage.

I couldn't read this. The woman is too stubborn and I couldn't find the romance. It's not my kind of love story.

This is the second time I read this book and it is superb still.

I couldn’t put this book down!

Loved every word!

Unrealistic but a sweet, funny story.

Loved this book. The characters fit so well together with their personalities and were relatable.

Well written, quick read. I really enjoyed this one.

You are a fantastic writer. I couldn't put this story down until the end nod will be buying the others as soon as I can. Thank you.

Lots of action, comedy and romance.

Well told

Enjoyable read. Good characters, I loved the independence of Deirdre's character.

Once again, I'm in love with Glynnis Campbells highland adventures. I love the strong warrior woman Deirdre butting heads with the stronger male warrior Pagan. The battle between each other and the English was entertaining. Their tough exteriors surrounded soft centres. I am looking forward to reading about the warrior sister Helena and the apparently quiet sister Miriel. I have my suspicions there. Loved it Glynnis, thank you.

I read it back to back in a few hours - loved the original storyline. Great read. Well written & detailed

Well drawn characters ,

Love that Deirdre is unapologetically herself and that Pagan is so steadfast

Lovely

Great book! Had me engage from beginning to end
