Boring. Parents make me read this during the summer, the first 5 chapters were boring so then i said i would read to chapter 10 and that if it didnt get better by chapter 10 i would quit. Guess what? I have no idea what happens after chapter 10

This Book is A Living Hype Train!. As many high school kids probably have, I got this book assigned for my English class. I had heard of this book a couple of times, and many have stated that it was one of their all-time favorite books and an instant classic. And I could not be happier to say that I 100% agree with them! Originally, I thought I was going to easily lose interest in this book, as many kids my age do. Call me an old soul, but this book easily is in my top three favorites of all time and I plowed through it in about two weeks! This was definitely the best school book assigned to me that I have ever read! I loved it so much that I even got my own personal copy so I could read it over and over again! You won’t regret it.

A Masterpiece. This is one of the best books I’ve ever read. My friend let me borrow her copy, and I was hooked. The majority of the book gives off a calm, summery feeling that you got as a child whenever school ended for the year. Many of the characters are likable, the plot line is intriguing, and the writing is beautiful.

Why is it banned?. Most inspiring! At almost 70 I finally picked up this book to read. Incredible the way Ms. Harper was able to hold a mirror up to my face so I would have to look inside myself.

Such a great work. Boo is such an unforgettable character. That was my mom’s nickname for me for the longest time… this book makes me miss her a lot. I love you Mommy!

A true classic. My L.A teacher made us read this book and I had always heard about this book so when I started to read it I was surprised how much I liked it. I recommend this book to anyone over the age of 10

Beautiful classic. Must read!. The first time I ever read TKAM was back in 8th grade of middle school. It’s been almost 3 years since then, and I’ve read this book three times in total. To Kill a Mockingbird written by Harper Lee takes place in a fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama during the 1930s when the Great Depression occurred and racial inequality was a huge issue. Lawyer Atticus Finch teaches his children Jem and Scout the reality to racial discrimination, proper morality, and better understandment of people. I love this book for all sorts of aspects. This book uses great diction, although it’s understandable with context clues. This helps me improve my own writing. Additionally, I admire the characters, especially Atticus. He is a prime example of a qualified human, who acknowledges flaws yet does not show any sign of prejudice towards it. This helps me with my wellbeing and puts critical thinking upon my own morality. This book contains a lot of suspense too with the children’s fabrication of Boo Radley. Overall, I admire this book and it’s no question to why it’s a classic.

A Classic. I agree with an earlier reviewer that this novel is one the best of the 20th century. Courage and honesty beats hatred and ignorance in a tale that one feels hopeful after reading.

One of the Greatest!. This is one of the most masterfully written stories of all time. If you enjoy reading in any way whatsoever, this classic is a must. This is as much an object lesson as it is entertainment, but what a wonderful story it is.

To Kill a Mockingbird. I read this book for the first time in high school & loved it then. However, reading it again through the eyes of a 50+ yr old grandmother is something altogether different. I don't remember crying the first time. White folk (such as I) have come a long way, but not nearly far enough. One can only hope... One of the worst books I have ever read. Like I said, this is one of the worst books I have ever read. If you don’t like Lord of the Flies, you won’t like this one. The story goes nowhere, the Finches live in Maycomb where NOTHING happens, and they spend the whole book trying to get Boo Radley to come out of the house because supposedly he “died” in a fire a long time ago. I don’t even understand how books like these get ANY type of award. And kids are reading this in the schools? Why don’t they just let them read their own book and write a book report on that.

Slow start. The beginning is slow but it gets somewhat better in the end.

Fantastic. This book was very slow to start, but it had so many different climaxes towards the middle/end of the story that you were on the edge of your seat, and from the courthouse to the last page, you felt a sensation of community as well as fear of the unknown.

Why did I wait so long?. I don't know how in the world I missed reading this book when I was younger. I guess like a lot of kids in Middle School and High School I was more interested in other things like sports and friends and goofing off than reading. Every time I'd need to do a book report I'd borrow Cliff's notes and well...skip the book. A trivia question made me take up interest in Harper Lee and I decided to go back and read this book. It's no wonder it's a classic and that Harper Lee won the Pulitzer Prize. I could barely put it down and spent most of my time reading it. It took me about less than a week and I enjoyed every second of it. I'm sure I can't add anything to all of the 50 plus years worth of praise written about this book so I'll just say that I wish I had read it when I was supposed to some 35 years ago.

Best book writen. I am a 17 year old girl. I've read this book 4 times. The first time was in the seventh grade. This book changed the way I looked at people. I've grown up with my family being strict and it opened my eyes to people. I hated books and this one made me love to read. Every time you read it you learn something new because there are so many things that are important. If you haven't read this book I highly recommend it. It's truly amazing.

A Great Read with an even greater introspection. Although published over 50 years ago, Harper Lee masterfully shows the introduction to racism through a child's eye. The various relationships that a child encounters shows you how they absorb information and a cultural view. This book can be related to modern day events while challenging your inner moral compass.

To kill a Mockingbird. This has to be the twentieth time I have read this book. It just never gets old. The lessons learned from it are endless and lessons that will never be solved. We all go thru them and all learn from them. Hopefully what we learn will make this world a better and kinder place to live.
