The world's greatest assassins are on a high-risk mission for the President--but a powerful mastermind wants them dead in this #1 New York Times bestselling thriller.
The President knows it's a perilous, high-risk assignment. If he gives the order, he has the opportunity to take down a global menace, once and for all. If the mission fails, he would face certain impeachment, and the threats against the nation would multiply. So the president turns to the one team that can pull off the impossible: Will Robie and his partner, Jessica Reel.
Together, Robie and Reel's talents as assassins are unmatched. But there are some in power who don't trust the pair. They doubt their willingness to follow orders. And they will do anything to see that the two assassins succeed, but that they do not survive.
As they prepare for their mission, Reel faces a personal crisis that could well lead old enemies right to her doorstep, resurrecting the ghosts of her earlier life and bringing stark danger to all those close to her. And all the while, Robie and Reel are stalked by a new adversary: an unknown and unlikely assassin, a woman who has trained her entire life to kill, and who has her own list of targets--a list that includes Will Robie and Jessica Reel.

Fast read and couldnât put it the book down
As I am finding out Author David Baldacci is an amazing author. I've read three of his Will Robie series and I have a very hard time putting the books down and doing my housework. I am now starting my 4th book.
Another great book.
I enjoyed the first 2 books, but the plot in this one is completely implausible, from some weird neonazi extremist kidnapping and patricide to a bizarre rescue of some characters we absolutely do not care for in a North Korean labor camp to the dumbest assassination attempt on the First Family. Characters are either good, so we must see them as heroes or victims, or evil, so they are completely shallow and must predictably die. No moral dilemmas whatsoever. Ending is very predictable, rushed, and abrupt. Feel free to skip this one. Not sure if I'll be picking up the 4th entry now.
Very disappointing. Far-fetched, crazy, unrealistic, predictable. Unlike other Robie reads.
Great book......
Long but good; 3 books in 1!
This was a fun read that I just could not put down. Thanks!
David Baldacci writes some of the best suspenseful stories I've ever read. This is another one in a long list of great books. I must admit I was teary-eyed at the end. I love Jessica Reel and Will Robie together! They work so well together and I love how they always have each other's back....Bravo, Mr. Baldacci!
Have rated most of his previous books 4 stars. This one is simplistic and unimaginative.
Nothing about this book reads like a Baldacci. Itâs almost like he got some to âco-authorâ it for him. Do yourself a favour and get the sample first - youâll know what I mean. S-L-O-W, dull, âI canât believe itâs a Baldacciâ book. Terribly painful.
If I had read the words Chung-Cha one more time.....
One of the best books Iâve ever read.
Far from a page turner. A wandering read to an underwhelming finish line Never felt any degree of edginess.
Another great read. Best author ever!
Nonstop action from believable characters, set in situations that could or might be possible. Read this book when you have the time for non stop enjoyment. You can't put it down
A real hack jobâŚtrading on a name to make a buck.
This book completely misses "The Target." If you like a sequel with characters whose presence is implausible, an uneven story line and a plot that requires a complete suspension of disbelief, then read this thing.
Very surprising and unexpected ending. Very intense!
Amazing; fabulous!!!
This was without a doubt one of my favorite reads! It was filled with suspense, and the pace was extraordinary. My two favorite areas were the the break out in Korea, and the deaths of the racists ......
While the story began well enough, it became somewhat formulaic and very predicable long before the conclusion. Still not bad for a "beach read"!
The best book he has ever written, the best book I've ever read.
For me I won't be reading any more Robie/Reel adventures. Time to put these two down and bring on more realistic agents.
This was a fast paced multi layered book. I believe the one and two star reviews were rather harsh. the different story lines just added to the characters. This was the third book about Will Robie and I recommend reading the first two prior to reading the Target. There are a lot of references to "The Hit" and "The Innocent" in this third book.
Great deal of action , perhaps to much violence. I was surprised that the North Korean agent was killed off at the end with all she had to suffer during her lifetime . Are there a great number of concentration camps in North Korea ? It makes you wonder if there are any here in the United States!?
One of Baldacci's best ever. If you start this book be prepared to call in sick at work as you will not be able to put it down until the very end. Three seemingly unconnected stories tied up into one. Wow!
Disappointing plot. Started out with intriguing yet unlikely premise then worked too hard to pull the pieces together. My least favorite of his books.
Really dumb plot and story line if there is one.
Great book. Loved the action!
This is a great read. I love reading David's Books.. Can't wait for the next one.
I look forward to David baldacci's release. He never fails in keeping me glued to his writings
The Target really was an exciting read. I was quite literally squirming in my seat on the airplane. The characters were developed so well. I truly empathized with them! I can't wait to read more of Robi and his growing network and assignments.
Love these exciting characters and the journey. Fascinating international plot.
Would have given 5 stars but lots of typos, otherwise this was a page turner.
A wonderful book. Most intense and I could not put it down. It's a must read!!!
The first two books in this series were good. Not this one. Slow read. Minimal action.
I love Baldacci and this series but this book left me a little disappointed. I thought the book kept you interested and was very good until very late; the ending seems totally out of character.
Couldn't put it down or stop thinking about it! Great suspense.
This was one of the best books I've read in a long time. Multiple story lines, interesting characters, well written.
I enjoyed this book even though about half way through it was pretty obvious what would happen. Still a very good read!
A real page turner.
Intense and exciting! The plot & characters draw you in, along with the evolution of Robie & Reel's partnership. Baldacci delivered another best seller...can't wait for the next book w/this duo!
Great book, great ending. Let's put the relationship between Robie and Reel into the next exciting book about these great characters. Charles B '
Reading this book you can soon see mr Baldacci researched the camps that exist today in North Korea. The characters reach out of the pages and pull you in, immersing you into the horrible situation that exists in North Korea today. Surrounding those facts in a fast moving adventure that makes you appreciate the value and escape of a good book and makes you want for the main characters to exist out there in our real life.
Another great offering from a great thriller writer. He never disappoints. A much more lethal team than King and Maxwell. If I had one request it would be the returning members of the a Camel Club once again.
Baldacci never fails to deliver a top notch thrill ride. Once again in his latest thriller, The Target,we get a fast paced, twist filled and plot layered read that delivers his own brand of page turning action and extraordinary suspense. I can't recommend this enough and of course greatly look forward to his next creation.
Great writing, great book.
Mr. Baldacci has a long history of writing really good stories. This is another one . If I have one criticism, it is that I think he surrendered a bit to the "more is better" author syndrome. A little too many issues thrown in. All ultimately related, yes, but really unnecessary and too much. Other than that -- which wasn't really grievous, an excellent book, another feather in the author's cap.
Outstanding read. Please continue to develop Robie & Reel in future endeavors. They deserve a peaceful closure. Respectfully, David Stephenson

I have read all of Baldacci's books and can say that this is the best he has written! So many story lines but the characters just blows you away! You must read this book!
One of his best books, filled with suspense and surprising humanity and redemption.
Great story well done
Baldacci is a first class writer. Always. No matter the subject. May he live long and peacefully!
This was one of Baldacci's best thrillers. From cover to cover!
