He called back to England one of its best spies who was fighting on the peninsula and had him join with a very smart spinster to find the culprits. Not only did they find out who they were, but in the process fell in love.

5 stars. This was highly entertaining. Humorous, witty, and not your usual period romance. The mystery added an interesting element.

The end. For me, I was disappointed with the ending… anticlimactic. But that was just me. It was a good story and I’m sure many have and will give it five stars.

Excellent Adventure. Lady Daphne is an entertaining heroine; Jack is an appreciative and discerning hero. Together they make for hours of reading fun!

An excessive use of the word “excessively”.... The dialogue makes these two adults sound like 14 year olds. Hard to get through or excuse.

With his lady’s assistance. This was quite an enjoyable story except for one thing. No one would have tried to assassinate the regents daughter. She was NOT next in line for the throne..The regents brother was If you are going to write about British hierarchy..get it right

A real page turner. Entertaining from start to finish. I found it hard to put this book down. Colourful characters and a great plot deliver a real page turner. A real cracking read.

Enjoyable Fluff 3.5*. This did have some laugh out loud moments, particularly at the beginning of the story. We have a strait-laced but exceedingly handsome hero spy and an on the shelf but extremely well-placed in the ton, Earl's daughter. Together they attempt to find out who is behind the attempt to assassinate the Prince Regent, whilst falling in love with each other.
