very disappointing. I'm historically a Nora Roberts fan, but man, this was boring. Started off good but the entire middle of the book is so boring I could barely make myself keep reading. Same basic dialogue between basically the only two characters the entire time. Painfully slow. Everyone in the book is also rich so there is a lot of wealthy people dialogue/problems - what art work do we buy, whose going to buy my groceries this week.... ugh. Not recommended.

It had romance and mystery, and even some even supposedly history, that bit about The ship wit treasure on it and which sunk if Whiskey Beach, also some about prohibition an smuggled in whiskey.

Love it!. The mystery isn’t solved until the last pages of the last chapter. Completely engaging!

Whiskey Beach. This book moved slow for me in the beginning to the point where I completely lost interest about a quarter of the way through. However after a few months I came back to it and actually the book does pick up about halfway through a becomes a good read.

Who Wrote this?. Who wrote this book I think Nora Roberts hired a ghost writer because this was not her usual style because it was so boring it took all I had to finish reading. I skipped pages and pages of endless dribble.

This book is a treasure!. Whiskey Beach is not the first book I ever read by Nora Roberts, but it’s an enjoyable read! An innocent man suspected of murdering his wife, legendary buried treasure, and the shocking revelation that his grandmother’s “accident” may have been an attempt on her life. Stir in an exciting, realistic romance between two sweet, flawed protagonists and you have the perfect recipe for a fantastic novel of romantic suspense! Murder, Mystery, Romance - Great Story Telling. I love reading Nora Roberts' novels because it's like having a conversation with the characters. Her storytelling is descriptive and realistic. It's easy to get involved and absorbed into the plots and motives. This story grabs you from the beginning. Characters and depth are added along the way. You don't feel like you need a road map to track everyone. Great read! Can't wait to start another Nora novel!!

Ms. Roberts is awesome. Nora Roberts can write no wrong. I have being reading her novels foe almost 20 years starting with Sanctuary and moving forward and back to read anything and everything she has written. Not once has she disappointed me. Whiskey Beach is no exception. Once again, a love story that touches the heart, makes you yearn for justice, and fall in love not only for Eli and Abra, but also Hester, Maureen, Mike, And Barbie. Thank you, Ms. Roberts for this wonderful novel.

Treasure hunting intrigue with a murder twist. This is a great read, with plenty to chew on mentally. The plot twist at the end surprised me this time.

Getting Ready to Read a Third Time. I love this novel -- enough that I wanted to read it a third time while recovering from surgery, couldn't find my hardcover, and ended up buying the iBook. The setting is fantastic, the imagery inviting and the characters -- main and minor -- have remained some of my favorites of all Nora Roberts' wonderful creations.

Whiskey Beach. I did not care for this book as much as others by Nora Roberts. I paid a lot of money for an extended romance with a somewhat weak plot. The conversations and repartee are all sounding like Roarke and Eve. Lately NR's writing is become boring and interchangeable with her other books.

Waste of Money!!. I'm a huge NR fan. Was looking forward to this book, but for the first time was disappointed to read her work. So many flaws. It was good in the first part, but then got anxious to get it finished with. Too predictable. Conversations were too repetitive. Characters failed to impress. Waste of 16$!! Not her best.

Whiskey beach. This book was a great read. Just the right amount if mystery and romance! I loved it.

Suspenseful. It didn't feel like a 800++ page book. I enjoyed it cover to cover.

Not the typical NR book.... I love Nora and have read too many of her books to count, but this one just lacked something that her mystery/romance novels usually have. The main characters were alright. There weren't enough characters in the book to really keep you guessing on who done it. This is honestly one of her first books ever where I figured out the killer before she unveiled it, so that was disappointing. The most annoying part about this book, though, is easily the ridiculous treasure hunter theme with Esmeralda's Dowry. What a joke that was, and totally unbelievable cause for the entire plot. Oh well, guess I'll be waiting for the next one to come out!

The love the characters give and take from each other. This story was not like this at all. I was so disappointed with Whiskey Beach. It had potential, it just never got better. I kept waiting for that spark of life she gives her books, it never showed. Sorry, didn't do much for this reader. Waiting patiently for the next book.

Great read. I really liked this book. You could feel Eli's anguish in the beginning of having to live under a cloud of suspicion and the irritation with Arba and how she forced him to come out of the dark hole. A lot of twist & turns till the final scenes. And I especially like the last about the engagement ring.

Couldn't Pick Up!!'. I'm one of Nora Roberts best fans and always preorder her latest. This book is so long with a plot that grabbed me at first then lost me to the point where I was begging for the end!! It's not often that I read a book and have no interest how it ends just hoping painfully so that it does and soon. This one just refuses to die...so I put it and myself out of misery and just didn't finish it. Normally I soak up one of her novels in a few hours...days later dirty laundry is preferable to one more page of this drivel!

Easy read- nothing complicated. I was looking for something simple and relaxing, not too violent, with a happy ending. This book was it. The characters are intelligent and funny. While the ending was predictable, I enjoyed seeing how it all came together. The ending was a little too neat and tidy and quick, but it was OK.

Love Nora Roberts. As with all the Nora Roberts' books I've read, I fell in love with Eli and Abra, the main characters. She creates characters you care about, you want to read about, you cry for. That's what a great romance is all about.

Gorgeous world to slip into.. I thought this was a wonderful book. If you're looking for something you can escape in with humor, mystery, romance, suspense, a world you can just slip into, I definitely recommend this book. A fun read!

The whole package, gift wrapped. Interesting people with difficult pasts trying to map out a future, a who-dunnit wrapped with shiny romance and humor, but done up with a twist or two.

One of her best in a long time. I'm one of her fans that has read everything she's written, but for a long time I've only enjoyed her 'In Death' series. She's become so typical, formulaic, &--dare I?, cartoonish even! Her heroes & heroines are caricatures, of the modern variety, but nonetheless caricatures of romance novels. Here you have a really good story with a good balance of grit & emotion. Nothing was too predictable & Abra, while still strong, managed to be an actual unique heroine who'd been thru the horrorible & came out really balanced. The only problem was there were still a number of questions about the investigation that I felt were left unresolved. For example, Wolfe! Why dig his teeth into a suspect that clearly didn't do the crime? While Roberts did a good job of reminding the audience a good circumstantial case was made, it NEVER made sense that a criminal defense attorney would be that dumb, or that the timing could be that close. The obvious answer was always the lover & wife, & a good investigator, which Roberts kept reminding us Wolfe was, would've looked in that direction. I'd like to know if he had some kind of socio-economic problem with Landon, something in his past, what?! And why wasn't he properly sanctioned. The ending there was horribly unsatisfying. BUT, slightly reminiscent of what the media has done to recent criminal cases (hmm-umm, FL anyone?), & I wish if Roberts was sneaking that in she'd have fleshed it out a bit more. Anyway, she finally wrote a story that wasn't obvious & I hope she sticks with this genre as her strict romance (trilogies, especially) are in repeat.

Guessing all the way through.. Enjoyed the book and the mysterious changes that kept happening. Some of it was a little predictable but that was fun reading also. A few sex scenes got rather dragged out and a little descriptive for my taste. If not for that, I would have given this one a five.

WOW. She's done it again! Whiskey Beach is wonderful. I found myself involved with Eli and Abra from the beginning. Great ending. I never guessed who killed Eli's wife. I was honestly surprised. Ms. Roberts has such a great talent for describing her location and characters. I want to travel to New England to visit Whiskey Beach. Kudos to Nora Roberts for sharing her fabulous stories with us.

Not her best. I love Nora Roberts and was excited to see a new book out, but this is far from her usual excellence. The plot was shallow and somewhat transparent as were the characters and there was way too much time spent revisiting the same conversations about the same feelings over and over and over. Abracadabra for a name?

Whiskey Beach. I have always enjoyed the light reading of Nora Roberts romantic tales. This book however showed her writing talents like no other I have read. The characters have more depth and the plot was as strong and well developed . The mystery and history of her location in this novel is beautifully orchestrated . I deeply appreciate the connection she brings between her characters and their scenery. Well done!

Whiskey Beach. Only second book by Roberts that I've read, but I will be reading more. Someone gave me an old copy of Carolina Moon and I was hooked. Now looking forward to reading more, both old and new, from this wonderful author.

Must read. I read the other reviews and almost didn't buy this book. Oh what a mistake that would have been. This is probably one of the best Nora Roberts has written since the "Circle Trilogy". This book is a big story, with ups and downs, romance and drama. Read it. Savor every page. Enjoy Nora Roberts at her best.
