A summer wedding stirs up trouble on both sides of the family in this beloved bestseller from "the queen of the summer novel" (People).
The Carmichaels and the Grahams have gathered on Nantucket for a happy occasion: a wedding that will unite their two families. Plans are being made according to the wishes of the bride's late mother, who left behind The Notebook: specific instructions for every detail of her youngest daughter's future nuptials. Everything should be falling into place for the beautiful event -- but in reality, things are falling apart.
While the couple-to-be are quite happy, their loved ones find their lives crumbling. In the days leading up to the wedding, love will be questioned, scandals will arise, and hearts will be broken and healed. Elin Hilderbrand takes readers on a touching journey in Beautiful Day -- into the heart of marriage, what it means to be faithful, and how we choose to honor our commitments.

Couldn’t stop turning the pages!
Very scattered, very selfish privileged people. Always enjoyed Jennifer Weiner but not this. Let’s get real.
For some reason, I was so put off my the dead narcissistic mother’s notebook. So controlling and judgmental and out of date. I hated the main character Jenna and the fact that she could not make a single decision herself and was so naive and clueless. Frankly, it felt like the 1950s reading about this fool getting married when she lived in a bubble. I also was annoyed at her crispy-granola, pious liberal persona. The only interesting character was Margot and she even disappointed. I will prob move on to another author similar to what others say, reading this author is like reading the same boring, shallow, one dimensional book over and over again.

Boring, boring, boring
Loved this book. Good summer read.
Loved it! I have a large family like this family, so I could relate to all the stories attached to even the smallest character. Enjoyed every minute of it and can't wait for her new one to get me all involved again.,
I wish Elin Hilderbrand's books wouldn't end. I find myself wrapped up in the characters, thinking about them even when I'm not reading the book. I wish this author would write more, faster! I can't wait til her next book comes out!
This book was an easy and enjoyable read that I could not put down. It made me laugh and it brought tears to my eyes. I felt like I knew the characters from the very beginning. I highly recommend it.
I was hoping for more out of this book. Very sentimental and also agree with others who say Beth seems very overbearing from her grave!! I read the whole book hoping it would get better, but it just didn't deliver. Hope Elin's next book is better!
Elin never disappoints me. Her writing always draws me in so that I can't put the book down. Beautiful Day was no exception. Loved it!
Couldn't put it down. Connected with the characters and wanted more when it was over
Wonderful summer, beach read...
Great story, characters just come alive on each page. A book I could not put down. A real page turner. I hope the author will write more stories about the great characters in this story.
I have to say a HUGE thanks for writing this book!!!!! My mother in law bought a home in Nantucket in 1995 over by Tom Nevers, and I have LOVED LOVED NANTUCKET ever since!! I love reading about all the places in your books that I have been to ie: children's beach, the chicken box, the yummy greasy donuts from Downeyflake!!!!!! To getting food at Stop & Shop where the fruit section is FREEZING!!!!! Getting books at the HUB..... I could go on & on...... So thanks again for a GREAT book!!!!!!! I eagerly await your next one!!!!!!
This book was hilarious! I loved the different out takes of each character commenting on an experience.
Elin delivered again! I read this book in 2 days and gave up good sleep because this book is that good. There is a lot going on in the book with sibling, parental and spousal drama (but its all very easy to follow and ties back together throughout the story.) Great read, highly recommend.
Great book. Beautifully written page turner.
I am so tired of spending money on books my 14 year old daughter could have written. No character development, no depth, no substance.
I have read all of Elin's novels, most are entertaining, but this one was poorly imagined and was ridiculously sentimental. I think Beth, the mother was supposed to come off as a sympathetic character, but came across as an overbearing know it all who thought only of herself and not of the people she loved the most. The characters live only in the past and seem crippled in the present.
....and entertained. Usually don't read this type of book, but once I got interested in it, I enjoyed it to the (stretched out, of course) ending:)
One of the worst most soap opera- y things I've read by Elin. Not worth the read
I Pre-ordered this and started reading the day it became available, while ironically, vacationing in Nantucket. Elin Hilderbrand-you never disappoint. Had me laughing and in tears. Don't ever stop writing. Can't wait for your next book. Fan for Life!
Wow, what a great read. I could not put this down! When is book two coming out?
