The Hit by David Baldacci
The Hit by David Baldacci Book Summary
Master assassin Will Robie must track down a deadly rogue agent, but the attacks conceal a larger threat that could send shockwaves through the U. S. government and around the world in this #1 New York Times bestselling thriller.
Will Robie is a master of killing.
A highly skilled assassin, Robie is the man the U.S. government calls on to eliminate the worst of the worst--enemies of the state, monsters committed to harming untold numbers of innocent victims.
No one else can match Robie's talents as a hitman...no one, except Jessica Reel. A fellow assassin, equally professional and dangerous, Reel is every bit as lethal as Robie. And now, she's gone rogue, turning her gun sights on other members of their agency.
To stop one of their own, the government looks again to Will Robie. His mission: bring in Reel, dead or alive. Only a killer can catch another killer, they tell him.
But as Robie pursues Reel, he quickly finds that there is more to her betrayal than meets the eye. Her attacks on the agency conceal a larger threat, a threat that could send shockwaves through the U.S. government and around the world.

The Hit. Fast moving, now you know, but you don't thriller. Another great read from D. Baldacci. W F R, Texas
This is Really Good!. As I read the story, I wondered periodically whether the author should end it right there so I wouldn't be disappointed if the quality went downhill. Well, he didn't and it didn't. Great book, start to finish!
End Game. Could not put down‼️ excellent
The Hit. This was a wonderful book. Read it in a few days. Hated to put it down. Will read more books by this author.
The Hit. Loved it!
Nothing more than a collection of cliches.. This book targets a reading level of about the 3rd grade. The boss is called "Blue Man". The protagonist is told, "as usual, failure is not an option." Really? This is nothing more than a collection of cliches. One star is a generous gift. This book is terrible.
The Hit. Awesome Read. Explosive from beginning to end. This is turning a to be a great series!
A waste of time. I normally love his work, but this was just awful. I made myself finish it because, after all, I had paid for it. Amateurish, at best. Drudgery to get through. Not at all captivating. Look elsewhere for a good read.
Ok read. It took a while for the pace to pick up
Great read. This second book is another great "Will Robie" read. I am looking forward to additional Robie series.
A suspensful story with great plot twists & well defined characters. Suspenseful
The Hit. Vintage Balducci; a page-turner that doesn't disappoint. Excellent character development and fantastic pacing. As always, an excellent read. However, I was a bit disappointed with the "Hollywood Ending". It still rates a strong four of five stars. Enjoy!
Enticing - and I want more. This book nabbed me from the first chapter! At times the book is intense and I couldn’t bear to put it down. I like the Will Robie character; I like his strength, the fact that he uses his head and while he might follow orders 99% of the time, he also questions himself and authority. He is idealistic, which isn’t very politically savvy, but on the other hand if we can’t believe there is good there’s no point taking our next breath. I also liked Jessica’s character, although she went rogue you can see how she would have come to this point. Loved the twists and turns. I also liked Blue Man. This is the 2nd book in the series I’ve read and I’ll definitely be reading the next in line. This is what Baldacci does best! Keep it coming!
Very disappointing. I have always like DB's books but this one had so many absolutely impossible scenarios and frankly absurd plotting that I would have quit reading after maybe 1/4 of the way. But since I had paid for it, I figured I'd keep reading and hope it got better or at least slightly believable. But it didn't. It was a story with every possible cliche and impossible escape of the genre included in one book, a veritable "what not to do as a writer" guide for the prospective novelist. I do not understand how this book came to be written, let alone published. After reading it I thought perhaps it was a very early "first attempt" novel by the author that had been resurrected because he is now well known. But no, it appears to actually be DB's current production. I don't know what happened to him but I hope he recovers.
Boring. It wasn't interesting, wanted to be over, skip a few pages. Love Baldacci but this book was took boring
The Hit David Baldacci. Will Robbie is a master Assassin, someone then US government calls on when no one else has the ability to compete the assignment. Another fellow agent named Jessica Reel has gone rogue and Robbie is assigned the job. Non stop action, betrayal and intrigue on every page.En excellent read!!
loved it. really fabulous book not as interesting as the first one but i still loved it i loved the addition of jessica was a nice read
Wonderful book!. Even better than the first, packed with action and "what?!" moments!
Disappointing book. I was expecting more. I don't think I would buy this book again.
The Hit. Start to finish, an exciting if improbable tale. I enjoyed it very much. Fans of adventure, intrigue, and mystery should find it a good read too.
Poor effort. Poorly contrived plot, amateurish dialogue... In a word: boring.
Fun Read!. Fast-paced and an all around good story.
The Hit. Enjoyed the plot. Expected a more sophisticated story telling approach. The author is not a Silva, Flynn or DeMille
As always. Fantastic
Baldacci quit on this one. I felt like was a good start but it petered out and left me disappointed. Felt like he phoned it in. The Robie series started nicely, but no where to go with this.
The Hit. As always Baldacci’s story’s keep you riveted. I always know his book will be good.
Good book. I like the short chapters. Sometimes a chapter has to much info. Good book. Liked the ending.
Great read. Really enjoyed and kept me reading!
Great read, as usual for Stuart!. Will Robie is a great guy no matter what happens!
The Hit. Great book. One of David Baldacci's best!
Smashing. Loved this book
The Hit. Read it and loved it. I had to go back and find out what happened before. Great job.
The Hit. Very weak. No plot. No action. No characters. This is my first and last David Baldacci book.
The Hit. Excellent! I hope Baldacci extrapolates further the exciting life of Will Robie and his friends. One of the best two books (along with The Innocent) I've read.

Great storyline. Keeps your mind working to figure out who will be the guilty ones. Great read.
The Hit. Bought this book on audio tape looking forward to passing 16 hours in the car. What a waste of money! Weak plot, lack luster writting, and way too long and boring! Wish I had made another choice in tapes.
This is for the iTunes “sample”. F. It’s pages of reviews of their books and SOME (only some) of the TABLE OF CONTENTS!! Really? FFS

The innocent. Excellent
Pretty disappointing. I've read, and liked some of his books. If you liked The Camel Club, you will likely be disappointed in the cheesy dialogue, boring characters, and weak plot. I wouldn't have finished it, but kept thinking it might get better. It didn't.
"The Hit". Loved this Book, Love Will Robie & Jessica Reel, Julie from the Innocent, & Blue Man!!! I could not put it down! Great Storyline & Great Characters, Thanks for the ride!!!
Ok read. It was ok, there were alot of cliches and pretty predictable story line
Simply awesome!!!. One of the best books I've read recently. Page turning suspense, great depth of characters, great plot. Awesome job!!!
The Hit. Loved the book.. I waited a long time for this one... I have read them all and this was very good.. I just miss the Camel Club Crew!!! The books that shared characters seemed to draw on intrigue more...
Great read. Excellently written and a very enjoyable read.
Cheezie. Pretty bad. Not much of a plot. Don't bother.
One of Baldacci's Best. Well written and great plot. I hope we get to see more of Will Robie & Jessica Reel. Keep 'em coming David!
Wonderful Tale. A good story must unfold like a wonderful trip through a store at Christmas climaxed by a meal with friends under the lights of a bright moon lit night. The Hit is. Wonderful story that takes us along to visit the minds and places of the characters we come to love.
The Hit. Great book, as expected from this author.

Good story. Like most of Baldacci's stories, I enjoyed the plot. I also liked the two main characters - 4 out of 5. I would recommend it.
