Wow. I’ve read some of the reviews on here and I have to say I disagree completely with any negative reviews. The relationship does have it’s dark parts, but it’s part of their character growth. The characters grow so much together and on their on in this series. It hits deep issues but still, remains sexy and intriguing. I couldn’t let the book go, I’ve read the series multiple times and always enjoy it.

Sigh. Dude’s name is Gideon and all I can imagine is the country fox from Zootopia.

A solid read. This book is VERY similar to Fifty Shades… it’s almost sickening. It’s not bad, but the story isn’t original. It a solid read.

Good read but repetitive.. In the beginning I couldn't put this book down. I loved reading every word. But as chapters went by it became too repetitive. He upsets her=she runs=he explains his way out=mild blowing sex=repeat. It was well written in the way it keeps you reading but I almost decided not to finish because it was too predictable in the cycle of their relationship.

Better than fifty shades. So this book was absolutely better than fifty shades of grey. It is however very intense & some would even say a little bit toxic. But with that it’s very entertaining & consuming, you can’t help but root for them & want them to be together to work things out. I didn’t see the issues with them being what they were & it’s a pretty hard thing to tackle sexual abuse but I think this author does a good job at that. I don’t have anything bad to say about book 1.. onto number 2..

Fantastic!!!. This book started a bit slow, but after the initial introduction of Gideon and Eva I was hooked. I lost myself completely in their story and can’t wait to read the next book

LOVED THIS WHOLE SERIES. Sylvia Day has done an amazing job in this series! Even as I write this I feel like that's an understatement. Gideon and Eva's love for one another and their independent lives continually collide and crash in pure emotional suspense. I literally couldn't put them down! This is a once in a lifetime love story that is wrapped up in some pretty detrimental life altering circumstances. I found myself constantly flipping to the next page and rooting for "GidEva" through the entire series!

What did I just read …. SOO I’m concerned for the women that found this enjoyable. I felt very much like this is the most red flag book ever. Women should cringe at those triggers . If you didn’t I recommend a therapist because this was a train wreck I couldn’t put down . I’m glad it’s over tho . Cuz I was questioning my self why am I still reading this . Character development was barely there . Story line .mid . Favorite part was the spicy scenes that’s y I gave it a 2 instead of a one .star. I’m hoping this book is used as a way to pinpoint red flags and triggers and a way for discussion about toxic relationship since we are looking at it from an outside perspective. Since some ppl can probably relate to these characters and hopefully can recognize some issues

Beautifully Messy. Don’t let the title fool you. I loved this series so much I read it twice. Day’s attention to detail is perfect. The story flows so well from day to day and the sex scenes were HOT. Very well written, no typos, poor grammar, the story made you feel apart of the characters world. Beautiful. Their lives, Messy. This story pulls you in and hooks you.

Whoa. This was an incredibly uncomfortable car wreck that you just can’t stop staring at. Wow do they both have some serious serious issues, that are really uncomfortable. I’m not sure I want to keep reading. But of course it left so many things unfinished. Annoying.

Gideon and Eva. Hot...but triggering and toxic. I really enjoyed Gideon and Eva’s characters and their fight for one another. However, the book could probably have ended 3/4s of the way through chapter 16 (just add in a Happily-Ever-After Epilogue). Alas, you’re left with not much of a happy ending and the knowing that you most likely have to wade through four more books of insecure and toxic ping-pong to get to another unsatisfying result. From the other books’ synopsizes I can tell this is where I should stop —reading any more books in this series will likely end in the same—needing an Advil and a better Happily Ever After.

Wooowza. This book is about love and heartbreak. With a twist of lust. 50 shades was good but Eva and Gideon’s story is a true page turner.

Favorite Series. Intelligent and well written, this book starts the series off with a bang. Gideon and Eva have to fight for their relationship at every turn. You can’t help but root for them as they struggle to find peace.

Kept my attention. It was an easy read and fun to read. I like the 50 shades vibes. The characters could be a bit more dynamic, we don’t go into much detail about what makes them unique other than physical descriptions and why the two main characters like each other. She asks him to tell her what he likes about her and he never really gave her any good feedback. Makes their relationship slightly less believable.

Great book. Although quite similar to the 50 shades series, this book is very very good. It’s similar but just borderline enough that it’s not alike. Very different visuals but some things are the same. Overall a great love story with vivid wording that really gives the full effect of the book. Didn’t care for how fast the writer moved on in certain situations without really getting into the anger during arguments but I’m still going to give this 5 stars. I absolutely loved it. Very hard second place after 50 shades!

My favorite book series. If there ever a book that I wish were a movie or mini series, would be this story. The sex and flare keep you hot and wanting, but the rawness of the storyline makes this so much more. Unlike 50 shades, which in my opinion is a bit too unrealistic (virgin girl without a trouble in the world, lands a billionaire BDSM with a troubled past), this story takes two souls, regardless of wealth stature (although it is present and helpful) ravaged by pain and betrayal that only the other can acknowledge, feel, and ultimately heal. To think that it’s possible if two people could feel that deeply and raw about each other would be amazing. Love this series, please make a movie. I would never stop watching it!

Disappointing. The book is just ok but, not as good as fifty shades of Grey

Another good book. I have read this book in about three to four days. It was another great book for me to read, I have read fifty shades of grey twice, when read this book I was like wow, now I have finished reading it and now knowing there are two more books coming out I can't wait to get my hands on them to read. The author has become another favorite of mine, I am so looking forward to reading her books, I will be letting all my friends to get theses books.

Okay read. Having read the 50 shades series first and looking for another fix, I was recommended this book. I put it down a few times frustrated on the fact that I felt so many things were taken right out of 50 shades. Too many similarities too list. Much Better. I've read this as well as FSOG and liked this one much better. The characters, development of them and writing is more mature in this book. I honestly skipped through a lot of the sex scenes in FSOG, it was redundant after a while. Can't wait to read the next one.

Very disapointed. After reading 50 shades of grey I was looking from something just as addictive. I have to admit i was not impressed by this book at all. It copy's 50 shades to much to my taste. I find the story quite dull. It is well written but is missing something i did not hang on to each word and was not eager to finish it. It did not have me wondering. If you've experienced 50shades don't waste your money on this book.

Entertaining Reas. I enjoyed the Character development in this novel (far more than 50 Shades of Grey). There is more substance to these characters. However, I do find Eva's coping mechanism with stressful issues & events of running away becomes annoying after a while. There is only so many times a person will chase after you! It gets annoying & repetitive. Issue arises = Eva running away = Cross running after = sex. I hope the 2nd book will be a little less repetitive. Nevertheless, it's an entertaining read.

This series is written perfection.. I cannot count how many times I've read each book in this series. Each book is fantastically written and flows smoothly into the next novel. The characters are solid and ooze conflict and romance. Must read book and series. It's not too hardcore, but it's definitely not soft either. It's just right - perfect.

Bared To You review. As an author myself, I would first like to say, I command Sylvia for writing a story she felt connected to. I don't understand why so many people are bashing her story because if you read the acknowledgment in the beginning, she thanked E.L James so obviously this story was inspired from 50 Shades. I just wished Sylvia changed the plot a little bit because it was in fact identical to 50 shades, but nonetheless this was her story. so I won't say I wasted my money buying this book. I would actually recommend anyone to read it because it is actually great writing. I preferably enjoyed fifty shades of grey better because it was a very compelling story and the love between Christian & Ana is captivating. I felt like I knew them from reading because their characters developed as the story prolongs. unfortunately, with Bared into you, I did not feel that connection with Gideon and Eva. I do believe they are in love and it was portrayed really articulately- I actually admire Eva story because I think it can help anyone who's been through the same situation, but I just think for Eva, who has been through an abuse as severe as it was written, her sudden and almost attraction pull for Gideon was completely unnerving and quite frankly unbelievable. it was too fast. I didn't feel like she gave me a chance to enjoy the experience of the characters to fall for each other. Also, I don't know if anyone else felt this way, but for some odd reason I can't put a face on Eva. I know she's blond, but I just can't picture her- I felt her character was sort of missing the information. (though, sorry to admit- I do like her better than Ana) But half of the time, I was trying to figure out why were they so emotional and angry all the time. it seemed forced. it's not a boring book. it's very well written and I'm actually looking forward to seeing what else the story unfolds- I'm hoping it takes a different route from 50 shades. I personally think everyone should read it and see for themselves. it's not as bad as the reviews I've been reading.

New Fan. Yes I am a fifty shades fan, please do not make the mistake that other reviews have done by trying to compare the two books for the same feel. This book is an erotic love story the main characters Gideon and Eva both have there issues totally different from fifty shades. While the initial setting can appear similar (meeting in the office building etc....) the story line is completely different this women is more mature just getting started the male also a man of great wealth with issues. I loved the book the book finished in one night Eva is crazy I felt like I was in the moments of Eva craziness. You won't be sorry for the read.

Eva and Gideon. This was my first read after the fifty shades trilogy, and I will honestly say that I really enjoyed Eva and Gideon's story. It was refreshing to get acquainted with new personalities and the new DRAMA. The drama was so thick you could cut it with a knife, but I loved every page of it. I can't wait to see how their story ends, hopefully it remains a romance and not turn into a tragedy.

No Fifty- but still good.. I LOVED Fifty Shades so I thought this would be a good read to keep me occupied. It is very similar to Fifty, but still has a different twist too it. I read all 4 books within a week, it was a pretty easy read. I really do like it but there is something about the book that still doesn't sit right with me. I haven't decided if the male lead is just plain obsessive and possessive or if it actually is true love. This book definitely makes Fifty Shades look like a kids books with all the sex scenes. After a while I had to skip over some of the parts because it's just so constant and a little more harsh with the verbiage. Bared to You. I googled what to read after 50 Shades & this book was at the top of the list. One of the reviews mentioned it was better than 50 Shades & had a better plot. After finishing it, I was aggravated. Better plot how? It was as though the writer dissected 50 Shades & attempted to rewrite it with more time spent on how to recreate a storyline enough NOT to plagiarize. The book simply ended, period! I understand the writer wants to split the story line for profit, but I'm so irritated, I'm moving on to another series. Gideon Cross was another name for the character of Christian Grey. Both loaded, both emotionally unattached prior to the female character, both controlling, jealous, possessive, dominants requiring their lover to be submissive, both in need of psychiatric help & both saved by the leading lady with which they cannot live without and rather loose their entire wealth than the loss of their loves. Wish I would have had a movie marathon on Netflix than waste my time.

So fun to read!. This is not just like 50 in my opinion. Yes there is a lot of sex, but I knew that before I bought it! I felt the story was much better than 50 shades. No, you don't know a lot about the characters after the first book. It's a series that you will have to read in its entirety to get to know the characters. I really enjoyed these characters more than I thought I would. I liked that they both had issues they needed to overcome, and I didn't find the female character to be weak. If you're expecting an awe inspiring read you should probably search for a book outside of erotic romance, but for a book of this type, I thought it was a fun read! Can't wait to read the last one when it comes out!

Not like 50 shades, but still excellent. I read some bad reviews that its a rip off of 50 shades or a cheap version of 50 shades. Buts its not a whole like 50 shades, there's not really bdsm in this book, just a lot of hot sex!! And very troubled past!! I stayed up till 5 in the morning and read it all! Loved it!!

Loved the book !. I'm not a very good reviewer. But all I can say is this book is ADDICTING & BEAUTIFUL, FUNNY & MOST OF ALL LOVING.

A complete knock-off. This is a cheap knock off of Fifty Shades of Grey. There is no originality or substance to the story. Leaves the reader with an ugly nauseous feeling rather than relaxed and romantic.

Absolutely horrible writing. I felt like I was reading some adolescent novel. Didn't make it after page 157. I bought the book because Most of the reviews were saying that this was a great way to get your FSOG withdrawal fix.... You were all wrong. What a waste of $8

Rip off.. This book is a complete knock off of Fifty Shades that lacked a connection with the characters and has way too much going on.

Can't put it down. This runs along the lines of 50, but in it's own way. Great story line. There's 3 books out but the 4th and 5th are due out sometime this yr👏

An honest review that I'm sure not everyone will agree with. I bare it all to you.. He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily... Eva works in the same building as Gideon and literally bumps into him at the elevator. Gideon is quite forward in his approach with Eva. Physical beautiful is not as important as what is in the inside. Eva is a shallow character by constantly stating how she cannot deny Gideon. Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private worlds...and desires. We never find out what trounces Gideon. All we understand is jus has nightmares. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart... Eva speculates the situations with Gideon with too much drama. She jumps to unnecessary conclusions without clarification. These sex scenes become so robot having read them over and over again. No originality. Authors continue to harbor the same patterns in the bedroom. It's time to skip through the sex scenes which leaves virtually very little appealing storyline. So quick to judge and speculate. Let's run and pout instead of face the situation head on. She even has her own bedroom to run and pout in. It sickens me that Eva uses sex as a weapon for forgiveness. Way too many pages about sex. If you remove these sex scenes you won't be left with much of a story. Every situation with Eva is faced with insecurity and lack of trust. She jumps to conclusions. She has these preconceived ideas about every tiny detail with Gideon. These characters are toxic and I can't wait to rid the toxins. I felt unattached to these characters and I'm proud to say that. I would never want to be anything like these characters.

AMAZING!!!. I LOVED fifty shades but this book...this book is amazing!!! Trust me! Just try it and I promise you will be hooked!

Close. I bought this thinking it would be close to 50 shades of grey. I have to say, some parts were similar, others not so much. I found that the relationship between Eva and Gideon moves very fast compared to Christian and Anastasia. Saying that, I did like this book and I recommend it. Just don't go in thinking of Christian and Ana. you'll set yourself up for disappointment.

I ❤️💚💜💙 the crossfire series.. I love all four books to this series, I'm excited i heard the are going to make it a TV show, I wonder how that's going to turn out. If you liked 50 shades of gray do you would definitely like this book.

Boring. The sex is too much. Just like fifty shades, I keep skipping pages. Why does it have to be in almost pages? It's so boring....
