A fun read!. No courtroom drama and certainly not a typical Grisham tale. So many twists and turns that it took a while to realize I was reading a complex sting.

So good, I have read it FIVE times!. No kidding. I loved this story to death. A guy screwed by the government gets unbelievable revenge. The plot is great. You keep wondering where it is going, and that creates suspense. It is also a very creative story, with a fun outcome. Worth your time and money. A very enjoyable read. A true masterpiece by Grisham

The Racketeer. This is by far one of John Grisham's best books written. It is a great self-proclaimed total work of fiction genius. About the only thing that's true in this book are the names of the cities and towns. If you hate the federal government's judicial system, you'll love the main character in this book and what they do. If only we all could dupe the FBI. I could not put the book down.

entertaining. 3.5 stars Malcolm is very smart. I really liked how he worked everything out. I did figure a lot of what was happening out ahead of time and feel that some of the people he tricked should have been a little quicker on the uptake. Definitely entertaining.

Easy read. As usual, Grisham’s book is a easy light read. The series of events is highly improbable, but the book was entertaining in a humorous way.

Good beach read. By the writers own admission it did strain possibility just a bit. Still worthwhile. I just wish I was at the beach!

True masterpiece. I enjoyed the book immensely, it is one of my favorite Grisham books. Like he always does, he carried it along beautifully throughout, and nocked you off your feet for a total unexpected ending. The pages just turn themselves.

Disappointing. I miss the J. Grisham of old. So many of his newer books read like he had a deadline to meet for a publisher. This one is the same. Boring, not much character development, a step-by-step narration: “and then we did this. And then this happened. And then we reacted like this. So then they did that.” I’m done.

My favorite so far. I’ve just recently discovered John Grisham so this is probably my 10th book of his and it’s easily been my favorite thus far. You really don’t know what’s coming or how it’s going to end and that’s the best part. I also love how he finishes his stories with the same energy he starts them, instead of just wrapping it up in a couple of pages and leaving tons of unanswered questions like a lot of writers tend to do.

Brilliant!. Great read! This book really had me in suspense. I can see this booking becoming a great movie. Amazing just amazing!

lazy. In his author's notes, he refers to "the laziest of authors" and must be talking about himself...this one was an unremarkable bland and otherwise forgettable time waster when compared to other spellbinding works of art from John Grisham...not worth the effort of turning the pages.

Lazy writing. At the end of this book, Grisham refers to himself as a lazy writer, and that is how this book reads.

Political comments. Good. As usual. But Grisham should leave out the field of far-right political comments: this seems totally out-of-place in this easy beach reading.

He's done it again. Just finished reading this book and like all other books he has written t is another page turner filled with suspense and things you never see coming. Five stars for sure!

My Humble Opinion. The ending was weak. I expected a surprise, but was given nothing. Not even a "what if.". The writing was excellent, as always, even if the story line left me in the dark sometimes. Still, I admire John's writing skills... Way outta my league!

Racketeer. I found this one of your better mystery/action thriller, the suspense just keep me reading vary late into the night. I enjoyed it very much. I wished their was a little more about Nathen, what happened, did he die in the jail or did the U.S. extradite him back into the U.S. Maybe a mystery about Nathen getting even somehow? Thank you.

Pretty Good. I don't read a lot of fiction, as a matter of fact, this is my first venture into fiction novels. I like his movies, so I thought I would give Mr. Grisham first shot. The book is a great story, some decent drama and a small twist. Just plain old good storytelling though. Enjoy! I did.

There are twists and turns you can see coming, yet you're still surprised and enjoy them when they show themselves. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I feel the ending to be abrupt and some of the finality of their lives left out.

Fiction yes logic no. I love Grishams work but this one was just too thin. The plot was good to start out but got really thin in the middle.

Just Bad. I finished The Litigator a few weeks ago and LOVED it. The writing was excellent, the story was captivating and the characters were interesting and well developed. I am stunned that this book claims to be written by the same author. It's hokey and very poorly written. I kept waiting for it to get better and it never happened. I don't know at this point whether to waste more time on another John Grisham book after such contradictory experiences between two books. An absolute joke.

I was disappointed to hear the negative comments, but decided to read it anyway. It's true that's it's a bit slow at times, but developing the story line was essential and the times I found it wandering were because I didn't understand where it was going. The twists and surprises come at just the right time to make it a compelling read. It's not my favorite of John Grisham, but still worth the time to be entertained!

Gripping with implausible twist. I could not put this book down. It was quintessentially Grisham with its cynical tone and triumph of the unjustly-treated over the corrupted judicial system. However, readers were never properly set up for the unlikely triumphant alliance in the end.
