Heartfelt and thoughtful memoirs of a life with a superstar!. I cried many times throughout reading this book. Chris Perez is so heartfelt and genuine you can feel his emotions stream through as he describes intimate moments with his wife and legendary superstar Selena. I’m so glad I bought this book as I was hesitant and didn’t think I could learn anything new about the beloved Selena. Chris shared thoughtful moments and provided insights into his marriage like I’ve never heard before. I was captivated from beginning to end and read the entire book in about three days but, it only took that long because I had to keep up my normal daily routine. You know those pesky habits like work and cleaning. Thank you Chris Perez for such an amazing book!

Different perspective. I learned a lot of new information from Chris’s perspective. It was so refreshing to get to know the side of Selena that is relatable. A wife who had mood swings, big dreams, and wanting to expand her family. Glad I got to read it.

I grew up on Selena. I am absolutely astonished by how great this book was, I am so thankful to get to see a more personal side from the man who was not blood but absolutely loved Selena and got to get to know her so well and it was very clear from her music just how much she loved him as well. My heart is with all of Selena’s loved ones.

This was a beautifully written, intimate and very genuine sounding account of their romance, the challenges they encountered, the principles which grounded their relationship, their tremendous work ethic and questions remaining of what might have been and regrets over warning signs missed when things went wrong; yet it’s done from a place of gratitude, growth, reflection and real love. I highly recommend this book. Chris did a great job.

You will not be able to put this book down.. I downloaded this book this afternoon and at 8:58 PM just finished it. I couldn't put it down. The way Christopher has written this book Makes you feel like you were there. I laughed. I cried.I felt like I spent quality time with one of the most amazing human beings who's ever lived. They had so much love for each other. I really enjoyed reading this book and hearing chris tell us his amazing love story he had with Selena. I especially like how he admired her for who she was offstage witch was a caring, loving and down to earth person who came from humble beginnings. She was also a goof ball full of life and adventure. I admire Chris for sharing his story with us now I know the rough road he went through grieving for his wife.

A beautiful dedication to a true love. This book gave me a better understanding of who Selena was- a human being who loved hard, worked hard, and played hard. It takes tremendous courage to release this story, making a very private relationship accessible to people who wanted to know more. I grew up in the 90s and never had a chance to really hear Selena’s music or hear her story. This makes my heart feel so full. My condolences to Chris and his family and to Selena’s family and friends.

For Selena With Love From Hawaii. Thank you Chris for sharing your story with the world. I can’t remember exactly when I first heard Selena’s music but I can tell you this…That powerful voice and raw emotion was something that left a lasting imprint till this day all the way over here on an island across the Pacific Ocean. When I began to discover more about Selena through the various articles, videos or stories that I read or saw what really touched me was that she was “Real.” She seemed like a down to earth soul. Bigger than life but humble to the core. I love listening to music in many different genres but very rarely do I ever feel a sense of connection to any artist or group like I do when I listen to her songs. Communication on that level is deep. That’s why Selena’s star will continue to shine. I am jealous of you brother. You had an opportunity to share your life with an Angel. Wow! Just beautiful!. I am a big fan of Selena even if I don’t know how to speak Spanish or even understand it but I love it. Chris did a wonderful thing with this book, putting his heart out into and giving us his POV of the person he truly loved/love to death. A very genuine and it feel like a love letter to his only love.. Chris Perez made this book like a love letter to Selena. It’s sad that her story is a Shakespearean tragedy. Despite losing his only true love, his resilience made him overcome it. He was able to do what he dreamed of doing rock music. I respect that his didn’t trash her family. That shows class.

beautiful. chris wrote this book in a way that made me feel like i was there with him. i felt all the emotions he felt and i was falling in love with her too. reading this gave me so much insight into the type of person she was. i wish i was alive during her time to witness the type of impact she had on the world. i dreaded the last few chapters, especially when yolanda was first introduced. still, he wrote her as a background character. this was selena’s story and he made sure to write it as such. this was a beautiful, heartbreaking, funny story and i’m glad i read it.

So Beautiful. After the movie and the series, this showed Selena as a human, not a daughter, not a superstar, not a celebrity. It was refreshing to read about her flaws, her pet peeves, and everything else that made her human. I hate reading but I finished this book only in a couple of days, it’s amazing.

Love it so much.. I knew of Selena after I watched the movie released and I was 6yrs old. I remembered getting of the school bus and running home and my mom and aunties would have the cassette in ready and they’d turned the volume up when the songs play and I Just started dancing from the door to the living room. I am now 30 & still watch and listen to her. Now my kids are hoping om and singing but don’t understand it like me. Chris Perez, Thank you for releasing this book.
