Well..... The stories do not have very great advice. Very confusing.

Well written and easily readable. Good book for those who are learning English as a second language. I chose this book because it was free, but the book was worth much more. Short but interesting stories are very entertaining.

Worth the time. I turned two finger swipe on and had Siri read it to me. Going to do this one again and often! It leaves you feeling practical, or a sense of resolution. I came away with a sense, "oh, yeah - that's how life really works," and "boy I had a few things wrong." Emphasizes the need to factor the self interest of others.

Aesop's Fables. This must be the most complete version of Aesop's fables available in the English language. It is not the prettiest version, not the most modern version, but is full of ideas and stories that people have shared for thousands of years. These stories are meant to be spoken aloud and discussed, as they were before the invention of writing. They are more interesting when you share them -- act them out, tell them around a campfire A good read and full of sayings which you still might hear, or are still referenced in literature today, although the language is a little outdated.

A MUST READ. Asoep's fables is a must read. When I first got it I was hesitant to read it because I thought it would be written in Old English but it had a charm to it that made me relax. I absolutely recommend it.

Heracles or Hercules?. Great book! In the short story "The Lion and the Statue", is the statue not to be referred to as one of "Heracles" instead of "Hercules"? I may be wrong on this, but Aesop was an Ancient Greek, so wouldn't he be familiar with the hero to the name of "Heracles"? I believe the Roman's changed the name to "Hercules" afterwards. Anyway, that's my logic. Excellent compilation of Aesop's fables!

Excellent!. Both my children and I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Its thought provoking stories helped produce interesting discussion amongst us as to what the moral of each tale meant both back when the fables were written and for us now in today's modern era. Highly recommended.

Wisdom that has weathered the course of time. Aesop preserved the history of time by imbeding it in the literature of wisdom that has not eroded through the passages of evolution, revolution, famine, pestulances, wars, universal catastrophes fires, drought, floods and has forever served historically our intelligence through his educational enlightenments and life analogies. To think his gems were written over 1,500 years ago and yet are so relevant today speaks heaps for his insightful ness. An all time great in the world of successful academics.

Timeless. Read in one sitting and loved the simplicity with which the stories are unfolded involving deep philosophical concepts using the most innocent of characters.

If he was alive today, I would give him a pat on the back for all of his amazing pieces of literature.
