Entertaining. Lauren Royal has a true gem in Amethyst. The story is riveting. The characters are so well written you wish you could meet them. The time period is richly documented and true to history. Superb read from start to finish. Highly recommend.

A stereotypical romance. This book is everything people expect a romance to be, which is either a compliment or not depending on your perspective. Romances can be deeply written, with lush prose and fully realized characters who have some complexity, or they can be the kind of trope that earns the romance genre the reputation it has. This book leans to the latter. The characters are very one dimensional. The story , though decently written, is without substance, even though the characters themselves experience events that are substantial. As a genre , there is no need to constantly reinforce the reputation Romance has for being, well - vapid.

As a fan of historical novels the plots of the books are always better than average but who needs all of these wasted Love Making scenes? Great read!. Well-written, giving details about events and characters, not common in other regency romances. Loved the way author intermingled historical events but didn't delve on them to make the story boring. Instead, used the events as part of the character's story.

Amethyst. I do not normally take the time to write reviews but this was a very good book. It was not predictable. It drew you into their lives and kept you on the edge of what would happen next. Truly enjoyed this book.

Chase Family Adventures. First of all, I must confess that I am a devoted Lauren Royal fan. I enjoy the entertainment that her characters provide with their practical jokes. I love reading about the periods she writes of. I work through the trials that her characters face. I delight in the romance and steam of their relationships. This story of Amy is quite heart-warming. I find the Chase family endearing. You cannot be disappointed if this is what you are looking for, because it is exactly what you will get.

Nice story. I really liked the characters and the way they seem to love pulling pranks is a very real brother sister thing!! I read this book as a free download and I will be buying the rest of the Chase books, I love this kind of series for the return of previous characters who are as close as the Chases are! Definitely give it a go, if you like this level of romance, you truly won’t regret it 🙂

Kept my Attention. I really enjoyed the family values portrayed within this family. While the setting was centurys ago, it was like a modern read. Couldn’t put it down. I agree the practical jokes were my least favorite part.

When a Earl Meets a Girl. Loved this book. I usually read short stories but this one was not. The author invested her time in the history of the time and the characters in the story. I found it hard to put down. I applaud the author in completing the story and not cutting it short and leaving you wondering what happened to characters. An epilogue is a must in all stories I believe.

True love. Great love story, but there were times to me to much rambling. When Amy was kidnapped I finally skipped most of it and several more chapters and still didn’t feel I had missed anything.

It's a very easy read. Girl comes from a merchant class background with daddy issues. Boy comes from the gentry class. Both are betrothed. They fall in love. Book can't end until they have the happily ever after with a handful of kids. Yup. Thought this book would be different with all the wonderful reviews. It is a very easy read and very predictable but a cute story.

Extremely delightful characters. I love the characters in this book. They are primarily a close, loud, funny family with definite ethics. When London is on fire, the three sons run forward to help fight it with the king. When a young boy runs to them for help when his brother is trapped, Colin runs to help. He ends up rescuing nine children and pays a man for his cart. As they race to escape he hears a familiar voice. Amy is trying to get back in the shop to get to her father who had run up the stairs, but the roof falls in on him. Colin has to put Amy into the cart to keep her safe. This book has everything, suspense, action, turmoil, drama, romance. You really need to read this book.

Refreshing Read. If you're tired of the same old romance (or those more like erotica), this is a good book to read. Of course there is passion & in the end they are all blissfully happy - it's told in a way that is simply put, a good read. The characters are well developed & each could be center in a book of their own. I'm most definitely looking for more books from a great author!!

Fantastic!!!. I'm usually not a historical romance reader but after reading one of Nora's books I wanted to give the genre a try. This was my first Lauren Royal book and I loved it. The story is fast paced and not predictable. Character are well developed and relatable. It also made me fall in love with the Chase family, and want to read more by Lauren.

When an Earl meets a Girl. Well, When I first read this book it was called Amethyst and I have really enjoyed it both times. To learn the Chase’s residence’s have been based on real historical Castles and their history was amazing. Colin & Amy’s story is definitely worth reading. Maz.

Beautifully written. I love how the writer played her characters. You can't help but fall in love with Amy and all the Chase family. I love the tidbits of 17th century salacious stories. The author gave us a glimpsed of London in the early years and as if you were transported there to experience. So vividly written. On to the next Chase adventure.

Wonderful. I read a lot of books, of many genres... this one will be remembered! The story had me feeling the characters joy and pain from start to finish, it had me giggling, tearing up and living with them. The historical facts were accurate (I even went on to read further on some characters so thank you also for the education). A thoroughly enjoyable read that I couldn’t put down. Now onto and looking forward to more of this authors work...

I don't usually read romances, but.... But I cannot believe the reviews are not showing up in iTunes! More people should read Lauren Royal - she really helps you care about her characters, which is a huge point in the romance genre (and any other genre really) I don't care much for the cover designs, but what's important is the writing, and the writing is solid, entertaining, and perfect to read both in an armchair with tea or in a chair at the beach!

From page one I was hooked on the drama, pageantry, action, and the emotional upheaval of these endearing and enduring characters. Bravo Ms Royal.
