The New York Times bestselling author of Life After Death, delivers her most compelling and enlightening story yet about young, deep love, the ways in which people across the world express their love, and the lengths that they will go to have it.

Powerful and sensual, Midnight is an intelligent, fierce fighter and Ninjutsu-trained ninja warrior. He attracts attention wherever he goes but remains unmoved by it and focuses on protecting his mother and sister and regaining his family’s fortunes. When Midnight, a devout Muslim, takes sixteen-year-old Akemi from Japan as his wife, they look forward to building a life together, but their tumultuous teenage marriage is interrupted when Akemi is kidnapped and taken back to Japan by her own father, even though the marriage was consummated and well underway.

“There’s not one drop of inferiority in my blood,” Midnight says as he first secures his mother, Umma, and sister, Naja, before setting off on a global journey to reclaim his wife. Midnight must travel across three countries and numerous cultures in his attempt to defeat his opponent. Along this magnificent journey he meets people who change him forever, even as he changes them. He encounters temptations he never would have imagined and takes risks that many a lesser man would say no to, all for the women he loves and is sworn to protect.

Midnight and the meaning of love. A great read I love her books

Beka9590

Beautiful story!!!. These two books moved me in such a powerful. It amazes how a 16 yr old man can resist all the temptations that we all go there everyday to find his true love because he believes so strongly in God. I come from a very religious family and I don't even see that. Love this book!!!

Eye Opener. To truly enjoy this book and truly recognize its knowledge and wisdom I had really open my mind. Any book after "The Coldest Winter" is actually nothing at all like The Coldest Winter. Once I cleared my mind of that fact I was able to enjoy the cultural, religious and love of the Midnight series. I will say I did enjoy the second Midnight story better than the first, but I can't wait for the next...I'm sure it's coming. Overall good read IF you are open to something different.

5 stars.. To the moon and back. I absolutely love every book that this woman has ever written. She has an imagination like no other. Reading her books has taught me so much about life, love, money and faith. Thank you for your mind and heart. You pour out your soul through your words and captivate the minds of whoever is reading them. I feel like I traveled the world with you. Thank you!

Great Read. No true ending.. I wish the book would have ended w/ details of Bangs, Chris, and Ameer but maybe thats another novel to come hopefully.

Great book. After reading Mindnight....I had no other choice but to read this book. Incredible journey through cultures I wouldnt know or understand. I felt as if I was apart of the story and actually able to relate it to my own life. The only down point were the endings, kind of leaving me "hanging". I am also curious of Midnight, Mayonaka's real name. Great stories!

Coach Dee Alldaylong

Coachdee1. Great detail. A lot of detail in explaining culture, religion, and beliefs of diverse backgrounds. From the Muslim African, to the Christian/non-Christian in America. Very educational and eye opening to the problems in our community with lack of responsibility and commitent to do what is right in God's eyes no matter what. Can't wait to read the sequel...

Winter Love

Thank You. Thank you for another great book..

Excellent. I never been a big reader but sista Soulja changed that. I though nothing could top TCWE but now I think I’ve found my new favorite. This book opened my eyes and my mind to a new place. It showed me other cultures. The places that she used in Japan and Korea are actual true places that you can travel today. I found myself looking up info on the places she mentioned as I read. Overall the book was a great read 5/5

Troubled ken

Disappointed. Thought this was great love story until he chose a second wife and then it became trash. I really hate that Sister Souljah chose that route for this book. Could have been so much better I struggled for weeks to read this book only to get to that part and I wished I had never brought the book. When is one women ever going to be enough for our black men!! This book is very disturbing for me. I understand it's their belief and culture but warn a true sister.

The Sister is a Souljah. I've read the first three of her books and I am delighted that someone has taken it upon themselves to not only address the many "untold" issues within our community, but to challenge us to correct them. I am an African woman that has also been "Americanized" and I believe that as a people we need to be enlightened. I have been looking forward to the next installment and cannot wait to read it. I wish 'No Disrespect' was an option because that is a MUST READ for all lost people needing some guidance.

Tinac567

Loved it. Great book

Honeybunz66

A Good Read. I enjoyed this book even more than the first. I can only hope there will be a follow up to it with the updates on Midnight and his family saga. Thank you for the adventure and the travel as I read this book from my bed sick with the flu. God Bless.

Big up to Sister Souljah. Incredible! I can't express how much I love her books, it's not only a good read but also educational. I hope for more to come and hopefully a part 3 to Midnight I couldn't get enough of part 1 & 2...worth every penny!

Sweeaty

Mind blowing. I thought I would fall out of my chair the entire read. This story was captivating from start to finish. I loved how it ended and can’t wait for more. My mind is running all over the place now. I must expand my knowledge with different cultures immediately. Thank you for this fantastic book

Midnight and the Meaning of Love. I loved loved loved this book. I wish for more. This book was just as great as The coldest Winter. I can't wait for her next book. Please let the next one be about Midnight and his loves and struggles to survive in Brooklyn. Can't wait!

Goldiefuego

My favorite after the coldest winter. Midnight has a soul that jumps out of the book. His thoughts made me want to change my thoughts and ways. I'm a Christian but I respect how he stuck to his religion so faithfully and used it when his back was against the wall and even thanked God for no reason. I almost cried so many times reading this. I actually walked out of the Brooklyn library with this book but I told my mom it's too good to not take back! I LOVE this book😍

Ivariep

Ugh. This book saved my life. Need I say more?!

Mcintoshblue

Loved every moment of this book. I felt as if I to traveled to Japan and Korea.. I love how this series enlightened me on what it's like to be muslin, young black and living in America. And how travel and experience can change ones life.

Anisha80

Mrs. This book is definitely a page turner! However, I'm giving it a three star mark: Midnight (and his girls, actually, too) is a completely unrealistic character... The whole story is some variant of James Bond movie, with an attempt of an insight into Islam (which is a good thing, thank you). While this book should be a smashing success amongst teenagers looking for a fairy tale, it definitely does not even come close to, say, "the coldest Winter ever".

Bkbj97

Midnight Review. Its not only a story, but it's a learning lesson. You learn about japenese culture, Muslim etc. I give this book 5 stars. It AMAZING!

Brandi felton

A love story. An amazing love story. I was wondering how Sister Souljah would pull this off but she did! I can’t wait to read the next book!

ChantyGirl

Wow...... I recommend this book to all young adults. Their is something in each of her books that touch the soul and inspire you to change for the better.

Tonja24

LOVE THIS BOOK. Girl you have done it again. Can't wait for the next one. Midnight is a man.

Midnight. WHO?. I bought this book the first day it was released and today I finished... Rare for me who is a lover of reading. The knowledge Souljah is trying to share, I respect. The Asian culture experience, I love. The story line and the end of the book, I hate. I didn't like this book until I was a 2 books away from the end. It was ok. Nothing spectacular. I could've sat in on a book club meeting to hear about it rather than read it. I hate that I feel that way...

Mizz l8dy

Sister souljah. You have a way of drawing me in that I never knew. I had many sleepless nights tryna figure wat midnight was gone do next. You had us guessing I will forever you and your books!!! Thank you.

Nilzer

Oh my!!!!. I really enjoyed the book.....I hope there is A PART 3 !!!!

Tee lovely

Captivating love story. I found myself always wanting to get to the end but being interrupted by daily life activities. After reading Midnight I was extremely upset with sister Souljah because I needed a happy ending and as I googled for some answers I found this book and my anger disappeared. I enjoyed this book I loved every moment of it , for a minute I wanted to become Muslim and have midnight take me as one of his wives. But after reading about midnight and his love I now need to repurchase the coldest winter ever just to brush up on a book that I had read so long ago and really it is to remember what happened in his adult life for the most part....this book can remind a person that there is hope for a guy out there who would love so deeply and positively . Thank you Sister Souljah.....

The diva2275

Excellent read. This was an excellent red, intriguing and exciting. It was a pleasure to red all about the cultures. The author is talented, your pulled in from page 1.

Jenni who jenni me

Ninja boy. I think this book is okay I think it really degrades black women I'm not raciest but why couldn't midnight be with a black women? If not with a black women then why did bangs have to be so disfuntional? Even though the coldest winter ever is my favorite book i still think that winter was protrayed as a ignorant black women not all black women are like that 3 out of 5 stars

Lilyp<3

Love love love love. Sista has done it again.... I enjoy all of her books...she's is the best author of our generation. (waitingforthenext)

More than just a love story. I loved the book. Like other reviewers said, it provided a lot of knowledge of the Japanese and Korean culture and history. I found this very educational in more ways than one. One, my company is currently publishing a coffee table book that exhibits black women and her Afro, it also provides educational literature of the African presence in Asia. One of the things I learned is that during our ancestors travels, many of them landed in Korea. One of the greatest Samuri's in the Japanese history is an African man who's family came from Korea. So, in this book when she told of several Korean women with Afro's, my eyes lite up and my heart felt warm. Not only was this a really good book and good read, but I took it as confirmation that our company is on the right track with the selected coffee table book we are currently publishing. I'm not really big on a man taking on more than one wife, but this was such a sweet story and beautifully told that she made it look sexy. All in all... I loved it. I loved it even more because of it also teaching us something without its readers feeling like they were being taught. Very clever.

@CBossLadi

Love It. U gotta read the first book to understand this book but they r both gr8

@Ebsofly422

I believe in love again. This is by far the best book (being the continuance of Midnight) that I've ever read. Words aren't enough to express how powerful this book has been to me. As a young women, studying Islam and preparing to take my shahada, I've learn so much by reading this beautiful story. I was captured by every page. The detailing were out of this world! I felt the passion in this story, as if I was apart of it myself. I thank Sister Souljah for taking me from the states and allowing me to explore Asia in my mind. I'm completely in love with this character Midnight. I pray I find a man so compassionate and full of life like this character. If I could give this book a million star rating I would! I've definitely learned the MEANING OF LOVE.

Rae_cy

Midnight. I'm in love with midnight. I read this book in less than 24 hours.

Settle confusion. This book was labeled as settled confusion because it's so different from the 1st & 2nd book. This book gave a sense of poetry, revolution, opportunity, religion, and life. The Coldest Winter Ever was a book that captures your attention and time. Midnight was a book that showed growth and adventure. This book showed a combination that inspires you to create and develop a vivid image. From the fantasies, to the direction, to the purpose in life was all foreseen and understood. Looking forward to new material!!!!!! FONDLY, A BALTIMORE FAN

Read!!. To be taken in a world wind and emerge feeling you are Arabic, Korean, Japanese, and still American is to read this book.

BrieSomer

4 stars. I like that there was a sequel because I hated how the last one ended but I don't like that he basically left his life in America and when he came back he didn't return to it ! I was hopping bangs would get her life together I felt very sad for her and I didn't hear nothing about her ! I loved the pictures of everyone though ! I agree a part three might b good but then again what will it be about! I love sister souljah I have read most of her books ! 4stars ! Keep it up siste

QUEENofqueensktx

I used to love Midnight.... But in this sequel his character develops into an arrogant and selfish person and the author tries to make that ok. I don't want to spoil it for anyone but if his love for Akemi was so strong, solid and complete how could he be sidetracked during the most difficult time in her life?

A book full of lessons. EVERYONE needs to read these books. So many lessons to be learned.
