After many happy years of marriage and raising a family, Brian and Kathleen suddenly find themselves a bit lost in life. Midwesterners who’ve never traveled, Kathleen decides that what she and Brian need is a vacation, and with the help of an enthusiastic travel agent she plans a trip to Ireland in search of her roots. In beautiful, quaint Lisdoonvarna, to the couple’s surprise, they find themselves in the midst of a joyous yearly gathering dedicated to celebrating the life and work of a late Irish poet, and they rediscover something much more important than evidence of long-dead ancestors: their love for each other and for life itself.

Weekend in Summer. Waste of reading time. Depressing. Disappointing from this writer.
Abrupt ending. A disappointment from this author. The ending was abrupt and left me feeling cheated.
A Week in Summer. Too short. Disappointing as did not pursue the story line.
Positive book. I really enjoyed this book. I will go on to read more of her books. I just wish there had been a few more pages. I would love to know where the road lead. Did they go home, move to Ireland, how did the experience impact them after they left, what was the poetry he wrote, was it good? Yes, I got a bit caught up. Try it you will get hooked too.
A week in summer. As always her stories leave you something to think about, mainly life. A Week in Summer, brought to me how time passes and things can change and sometimes me miss the important part. Enjoyed this short story and looking forward to her next book, God willing.
