When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Then Wade cracks the first clue. Suddenly he’s beset by rivals who’ll kill to take this prize. The race is on—and the only way to survive is to win.

My Favorite Book.. I read this 10 times in 2 weeks...

K4ON4SHI

THE BEST. LITERALLY one of the GREATEST reads of ALL TIME.

TylerGillespie

Appreciation. Not only has this been an amazing read for the second time, and vastly different from the moving, but it has yet again left me drawn to come back.

MunaTheFerCat

Wow.... WOW. Just wow. This book is really something. Looking forward to reading the next book. ☺️ Wonder if they’ll make that one into a movie too! Congrats to the writer for writing and to the reader for reading! And you, dear reader, stop bothering with the reviews and go buy the movie!!😸 I would recommend it to any die hard fan or just anybody who’d rather see Daito kick those IOI jokers’ butts rather than being flung out of a window like a widdle owd wag doww. (I’m kidding but really he doesn’t die in the movie) IM OUUUUUT! -MunaTheFerCat

Osunfejiosjiovsdf

Excellent. Very action packed, couldn't pull myself away from reading it.

AlyPowell

Excellent attention to details. Lots of research on so many subjects.

First Time Saver

Ready Player One (Book vs Movie). Hello. I really enjoyed the movie and have watched it several times. When I saw that there was a book called "READY PLAYER 2", I decided to buy it. Then I decided to order "READY PLAYER ONE" also since the movies are often different from the original plot in a book. Was I right! I read the "READY PLAYER ONE" book and I enjoyed it a lot. The story was really different. I learned a lot more about each character and it had great plot twists. Now on to "READY PLAYER 2"! I thought about pointing out some of the differences, but you will find them yourself when you read these two books!

Bengalredlegs

This book got me reading again at 30!. Just re-read this book for a second time so to be caught up for Ready Player Two!

Da best book reviwer

This book is just amazing!. So good!

Margostar22

Perfect❤️. Even for a part time geek that didn’t understand 100% of the treferences…it was perfect.

Drewh22215

Ready Player 1. Such an enjoyable read. You get so lost in the adventure, highly recommend.

Jibberjabberwabber

Trash. This is probably one of the worst books I’ve read

Horrible. This is an extremely terrible MarySue book with the most basic plot and the writing to make the plot boring. The movie made out of it was at least as bad as reading the book. Don’t waste your time on this book.

NefariousOxide

Good. Better than the movie

73536273636

Awesome. Wonderful book. Must read.

Reallifecyborg

The best book I’ve read in years. Absolutely the best book I’ve read in years, and I wasn’t even alive in the 80s, so the 80 s nostalgia, even though I loved it, didn’t bring me in as much as other older readers. Best book I’ve read since Harry Potter

Ac96

Fun Read!. If you love sci-fi , VR Gaming, and Willy Wonka this is a must read.

Nels2714

Super duper good!!. I read this at age 12 and thought it was AMAZING!! It has some profanity and kind of dark scenes, but if that doesn’t bother you, I suggest this to readers ages 12+. I loved it and read it nonstop! It has an interesting style, and I was shocked by the author’s twists with the Easter Egg. I was very surprised by the representation of Aech as well. Very exciting! Read it and enjoy it, or read it and not enjoy it. Read it, though!

Fastprof

Thrilling Amusement Park Ride. I really loved this book. Even though I never was a “gamer”, I thought the plot points were excellent. There was enough character development to get me interested and emotionally invested with Wade. The quests actually made sense to me. And, to the author, I’ll just say that although you liked the Spielberg adaptation (and I normally love his movies), the movie version of your book was completely different…with even the quests changed…and disappointing.

Moonmycron

Great. Fun read

Nzisnxusj

Amazing. Great story from start to finished. Wade is such an interesting character that isn’t perfect that gives the feel of authenticity to the book. The descriptiveness as well as the depth Cline ventures to is mesmerizing and makes you want to read over and over again. Great look at the future that keeps you thinking days after reading 100% recommend this book

Trey2336

Amazing. This book is the best book I have ever read and I read a lot of books I can’t wait to read ready player two and for all you haters if you didn’t like to are crazy and pathetic.

Tdurden5150

Loved it !. Great book!

Domdav421

Nerdiness galore. Very good sci-fi written by someone who truly understands the 80s and nerd culture. Highly recommend.

Friedmann87

Amazing. One of the best books I have ever read. Saw the movie first and it was excellent but the book outshines it.

Crowshot

Amazing!. Makes me want to bust out the Atari 2600. What a great and accurate book.

Cooldoggie9

Loved it. I loved the mix of the love for the 80’s and a futuristic bit of vr

Mason Shellhammer

Genuinely one of the best books I’ve read.. This is my favorite book. It didn’t even feel like I was reading half the time (frankly because I used the audiobook for at least a quarter of it); but regardless of how I enjoyed this book, it left me wanting to actually read more books like it. This book is the prime gateway for young Generation Z boys to get into reading lengthy novels such as this book.

MattsQuality

Love it!. Absolutely love this book! Highly recommend it!

Adam Ash

Slow start, strong finish.. Fantastic story and a really fun read. The pages jump to life and it gets more and more difficult to put the book down.

Wut What

Best Ever!!!!!. This is a must read. And then a re-read. And then a re-read again. Anyone who loves 80’s Pop Culture along with Sci-Fi then this is the book for you. There are references in every chapter and almost every page that make me smile about a memory from my childhood and then the Sci-Fi part takes my mind wondering toward the future. My two favorite things.

Bunny_the_puppy

One of my favorite books!. I love it! It’s exciting and just perfect. I highly recommend.

Dellaneva

Too addicting!. I could NOT put this book down! I, like many others, saw the movie before I read the book and I honestly think it’s the way to do it. I got a sense of the characters and the plot that way I could kind of picture what the characters looked like and such, but as soon as I started reading the book, I realized it was completely different and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was like a completely different story. I would totally recommend this book to anyone who enjoys 80’s nostalgia. I can’t wait for “Ready Player Two”.

Wyqttssz

5 star. Great book, lots of awesome references that any fan of pop culture would love.

Internetdeputy

Wow. I learned of Ready Player One when the movie came out, without even watching I decided to read the book first and just wow. Sure, there’s some cringy moments, but the amount of hate this books get is unfair. I really enjoyed it!

Don s dunks

Ready. Complex like a good wine yet you want more.

Kait0o7

Gamers must read this novel!. I could reread this book a thousand times!

XxTheSavageOne

One word… Masterpiece!. Seen the movie a dozen times but it does not compare to the book.

Svndcvt

A catalyst for myself. This book literally made me want to start reading other sci-fi books, something I had never entertained prior. After watching the movie, I gave this book a shot, and it was the best decision I ever made. I never thought I would be the type of person to say this, but the book is way better than the movie, and I loved the movie.

Asapp90

Great. This is a great book if you’re a video game enthusiast and 80s fan. Easy to read and keeps you on your seat the entire time.

Lol i hate my life

Thank you Ernest. This book is..... wow. From page 300 to the final battle I knew what was going down. It was crazy, intense, and above all, entertaining.

Bredacted42

Loved it!. From the nostalgia to the action, a fun read all around.

Burgerlar

Simply beautiful. I have always loved this book. Probably have read it 4-5 times and it always brings back nostalgia and happiness. I would rate it 6/5 if I could. This book explores all different types of relationships and pushes the “look beyond the mask” ideal. Great time piece and amazing social commentary mixed into a fun and exciting adventure. If you’ve only seen the movie you will find so much more in this book!

Icantbeliveineedausername

Disgusted by this. This book has f bombs and s bombs alike. It is also against religious people. This book would be great if it wasn’t so woke. Please don’t read- the movie is 10x better- without the language and everything else.

Bry0105

Better than movie. Overall a good read. The pro evolution anti belief in God was unneeded and didn’t affect the story overall. No more spoilers. And I’m pro God anti evolution but still read it and will read “Ready Player Two.”

29392939'x skskx

Very entertaining. The book includes very cool pop culture references, unlike most books, it is entertaining all the way through. It is easily my favorite book, and I nearly burned through it. I very much suggested this book. Ps. Don’t watch the movie, it is a hot mess compared to the book!

Ariseathletics

Addicting!!. I don’t play video games and don’t know most of the pop culture referred to in this book but I still LOVED it and couldn’t put it down! Such great story telling!

Julian37837:83

The Book was interesting…but too plain.. First of the beginning of the book starts with a bang…and then…then it just dies from there. The characters are very boring. The plot can be interesting at times, but then it rambles too much. The ending is too plain and expected and it just isn’t written very well. And then the movies fails…too ):

Kureguasu

Fun read. Great story, especially level 3! The only downside I found was that some of the plot points felt kind of like they were pulled out of no where. Still would recommend it!

Awesome. Totally awesome!

AlexPope1668

Ready.. The 80s was a special time full of awesome things. They oft times don't get the respect they deserve, because they seem soft or even frivolous to many. Ready Player One treats all the things of the 80s with kindness and gentle appreciation. This book is a big thank you letter to all the people who contributed to what the 80s was, and an ode to what it meant to the people who grew up within it. The book is a quest and the Holy Grail is the joy the 80s brought to everyone. The killer bunny is the adorable idea of the ultimate virtual world. Listen to Tim... and Halliday, it's a lot more dangerous than it looks. :)

Zeeneezach

Ready player one. This is a favourite book of mine just because it took me back to my childhood. I still have and play my Atari 2600 and have aquired a number of games that includes many if the games mentioned in the book. My 13 year old loves the idea of an augmented or virtual reality and now asks me about the original games for the original systems. It is an awesome pop culture reference.

JaredS215

Easy read. Ernest Cline writes in a way that's descriptive and easy to read. The story is immersive and detailed just like OASIS, the virtual world that the shut-in 80's obsessed teenagers spend most of their time in. My biggest complaint is the over use of obscure 80's references. This story takes place over 40 years in the future, there are MANY decades to reference to other than the 1980's. It got to the point I found myself skipping over entire paragraphs stuffed to the nines with these references. Despite this (and the littering of clichés here and there) I still found the book to be very enjoyable. I read it in an entire day and barely put it down. Ernest Cline is a promising author and I look forward to his next book.

Herbiejimmie

A good, fun read!. Especially for old school game lovers.

Dirolili

Phenomenal. I had not read a science fiction book in quite a while. I could not put my iPad down. Incredible that this is his first book. As someone who lived through the 80s, it was refreshing to sort of live it again through the book. Lots of attention to details and a realistic perspective of human nature and relationships. Looking forward to his next book!

JBeauS

Enchanting. I'm loving this book and how the Author tells the story. 5 stars from this young lady from the 80's!

LP For Ever

Interesting but lacking. It's an ok read, but nothing more. The story is interesting, but extremely cliche. Some of the dialogue was extremely poor, or outright fit for r/thathappened or r/niceguys. There are also a few large gaps in the logic, and I find it surprising that the main character had the forethought to 'cover' every angle. I get he's planning ahead, but he thought of EVERY little detail. Financial problems were solved by: oh he's super popular so he is super rich now too. He never ran out of money, so he never had a problem, which is lazy writing. It's easy to criticize, I know, but is it too hard to steer a novel from the extremely cliche direction to the somewhat original?

RuthBaderGinsbird

Exhausting. It’s like a child wrote his fantasy and told you every little thing. You don’t get to imagine anything or learn anything subtly because he’s going to tell you flat out. The idea is fun but the execution is exhausting

Tamvervan

Ready Player One. Loved the pop culture references. Great pace; total page turner.

GetaVe

Great. Starts off slow, with some really amateurish dialogue, but once you realize that you are reading a book intended for the teen crowd, everything falls in to place.

Lesarpan

Excellent!. Excellent cet hommage aux jeux, films et musique des années 1980. Si vous avez connu RUSH, ULTRAMAN, JOUST et le film WARGAMES, ce livre est pour vous! Chaudement recommandé!

Padnarok

Could stop reading once I started.. As someone who goes through phases, be it playing games, watching movies/tv shows, or reading, I decided I would give this a shot after just recently finishing another book. The movie trailer piqued my interest, and having a preference for consuming the original format, this did not disappoint me. Every moment that I could actually spend watching/playing/reading something, it went straight to this. I look forward to reading his other book soon, once I finally finish some of my other tasks!

Tyler Miller

Great read. Couldn't put it down.. Great book. For anyone who lived through the 80s and 90s and followed the pop culture scene in those decades will really enjoy this book. Only negative issue I have with the book is written for a younger audience it seems. This doesn't tarnish the fact that it was a great book and I will most likely be buying the accrual hard cover book to add to my library.

S Sutcliffe

Best Book I’ve Read. I just finished the book this evening. It took me 4 days to read it. I just couldn’t put it down. It has so many great references, it’s action and adventure packed, with a little side of romance, and a modern twist. I liked that I couldn’t foresee what was to happen next since the possibilities are endless inside of a virtual world. What really made this book fantastic for me, and others I think, is that everyone can relate to wanting to escape their own life sometimes, and this made it a very personal experience for me. I also think they are some really important themes of integrity, the definition of true friendship, and perseverance.

LaurenMorin

Bombe Atomique Virtuelle!.

Erwinscott99

fun read!. I was pleasantly surprised how this book kept you interested until the (predictable) end. Fun, Nostalgic and a must read for all the older geeks like me out there!

|O|Green_Lantern|O|

Willy wonka meets the matrix. Often I find it hard to find a story that can take me away to a universe and keep me there. I got lost in the characters quest and the relationships he made whilst adventuring. This is honestly one of the best books I've ever read. I had the overwhelming urge cry and cheer out loud at the end. If you don read this novel you are truly missing out.

ArtSifton

Self-indugent and contemptible.. This is a book by an author devoid of new ideas, and celebrates limited intellectual horizons. He begins with a thesis that everything good came out in the 1980s, and spends 400 pages self-indugently listing off his favourite movies and TV shows from that decade. Look, we get it Mr. Cline, you like the '80s... get over it. The characters are charmless... the main character's entire family dies in the first chapter, and he has *no* emotional reaction to their deaths. NONE. The writing is artless, the worldbuilding is vacuous. To call this a bad novel would diminish the term 'novel.'

Bradysgames

Best book I’ve ever tead. The title summarized it all! This is a phenomenal story that you’ll find yourself lost in very easily and you won’t be able to put it down until the final page.

Qwegffgfyjffh

Awesome!!. Awesome!!!!!!!

Zen Sky

Wow, what a ride!. This book hooked me from the first few pages in the sample. It is a fun and relentless race through a vividly imagined world. Like any good video game, Ready Player One is built for fun, and it delivers!

Bygghdjnfjgc

Holy ****. This book kept me gripped from start to finish, I could not put it down. It's definitely going into my personal list of favourites.

Antoine thisdale

Hollywood OS, but good.. Disclaimer: im in the videogame business and this is what first attracted me to this book. First and foremost, the reference to "hollywood OS" is a way of saying the following: the author tries to create a virtual world where complex human interactions are possible and somewhat realistic. Although interesting in a way, it is also almost unimaginable for a person such as myself, knowing what i know of the work involved in making a [video] game. Most hollywood movies with computer techs and visuals always push the boundaries with complex interactions, shapes, colors and crazy virtual realities where the characters do battle and such. These things are very very rarely realistic ore even possible, but help to illustrate to the audiance what a guy looking at a bunch of code lines feels. For gamers who read this review; i've imagined the OASIS as a blend of "Second Life" and "Minecraft". With that said, "Player One"'s story is quite entertaining and a bit of a challenge in itself, trying to "get" most of the refences. Its like a small victory everytime you gpfigure out wht they are taking about or when the book's description brings back fond memories. The writing quality is ok, descriptive and quite enjoyable, but will not win any contests. Some events can be a little hard to grasp for non-computer-savy people, but shouldn't top anyone from enjoying its adventure-like quality. Overall, a very fun and enjoyable book, which's only real forthcomings are its bi-dimensional characters and abrupt and telegraphed ending.

AppDevious

Good story but flawed by the writing. The good story idea saves it but the first person writing perspective is way tedious at times. And it's very hard to believe that with a 40 hour school week Wade would have enough time to soak in all the pop culture that he knows. It makes him come across as unrealistic and all powerful. Plus, all the refences to geek culture were just overkill. If it doesn't serve the story don't use it. I do not think this will make a good live action movie but it would probably make a very good anime as the tone is more along those lines. Also, Greenleaf Way is not a real street in Van yet...stereotypical reference of Van too.

Lucario25

I love this book.. I own this book and I love it very much. This is one book that will have you wanting to read it again and it will have you wondering if the book will be made into a movie.

Bean Phone

Wow!. Reading this book, I was nostalgic the whole journey. Growing up in systems such as Atari, Coleco, Nintendo, Sega, X-Box, PC and PS1-2-3, I was the kid in my older shell. I read this book faster than anything I've ever read. Also, being a movie buff, I totally enjoyed the references as they are all movies I watched growing up. To my surprise, I expected a reference from "The Last Starfighter", being a movie/video game premise, but it didn't make the cut. Whatever!!!! This novel rocks! Thanks for the memories!!! And they do make it into a movie, it better be good!!!! The whole young adult crap out there is so unbearable. Please sculpt this vision carefully. Besides, if Universal is behind it, all should be fine. So to rap this thing up, here is my review: "This work of fiction is crafted with an über passion for the love of games, movies, music and, in most part, a beautiful tribute to an era that will always be known as 'the 80s.' " Enjoy! I did.....

DJ_ME

It was the best book I ever read!!! 👍👍👍. This book always kept the intrigue and the action was great.

Soooooo gooooooooood!. This book was amazing! I read it non-stop for days until I finished it and now don’t know what to do with my life lol. All around a great read I would recommend to anyone :)

BrockGS

Fun, nostalgic, feel-good. What a great book. Reads like a late teen type book, but every other page has me reliving needing out in the 80s! It’s not the deepest plot you’ll ever encounter, but a lot of fun to read.

TonyRome

Best Book I've Ever Read!. Excellent book, blasted right through it. I want more!

Nick05!

Great book for an 80s kid. Loved this book

Favourite Book. At the time of writing this review I’ve read the book 6 times already. I picked it up a little after it came out, and ever since it has been my favourite book. The character dynamic between the characters and the flow of the adventure keeps you interested the whole read. You become enveloped in the world and don’t want to put the book down.

Entertaining. Good story line. A bit too many references the to the 80s which sometimes detracted from the plot.

Andywu123

Can’t pass the blasphemy. Why attack Christian faith, it’s not necessary for story telling

Marvin9895

Perfect for gamers. At first , I was not so interested in reading but then as the book mentioned a lot of old school games and technology in a futuristic setting. You feel a nostalgic feeling of how it felt to grow up playing those type of games. It was a great read that you can easily get lost into and want to continue reading for hours on end.

Bennyboizz

Awesome!. I had to work so it took me three days to read.

Sarah E Hooker

Amazing. I’m sure I can’t write a review greater than what has already been written about this great book. Triumph for nerds. Triumph for underdogs. Triumph for good and brave hearts.

Savvvvvana

Review. “Then, on the evening of February 11, 2045, an avatar’s name appeared at the top of the Scoreboard, for the whole world to see. After five long years, the Copper key had finally been found, by an eighteen-year-old kid living in a trailer park on the outskirts of Oklahoma City. That kid was me.” Wade lives in the future on an Earth that has lost all natural beauty, the only time he’s truly alive is when he plugs into a advanced virtual reality called OASIS. His favorite pastime is exploring the 80s culture, a hobby he shares with the late billionaire, and creator of OASIS, James Halliday. When Halliday passes he chooses to leave his savings to the winner of a highly complex virtual reality scavenger hunt he created. Years go by without anyone solving the first puzzle in the hunt, until one day Wade discovers the first step leaving the world shocked. Wade’s world turns upside down when the pressure of fame gets to him. He struggles with friendships, girl problems, family issues, and even life or death situations. Will he prevail to the end of the hunt, or will he let love distract him? I did however struggled to read through five or so chapters in the middle of the book where the story begins to slow down and become repetitive. Although I do feel as though this novel was especially strong in keeping an interesting plot line. I was always intrigued to find what would be on the next page. The author also excels in presenting information, such as 80s trivia, background stories, and historical facts in an engaging way. And to conclude I thought this was one of the best books I’ve read in awhile and I highly recommend.

Alpacas4Ever

One of my favorite books!. Good job, and I am excited to read Armada!

KRunner22

Could not put this book down!. This book differs from the movie but I still could not put it down even knowing the ending! Excellent read

StatykSyn

Not a reader. This is the first book I’ve read in 15 years or better. I will admit I was inspired by the amazing movie to read it after my 100th viewing. Even though the movie is amazing by all means this book is 1000 times better. I loved every second I read it. READ THIS BOOK!!!

Em_reads

Surpasses the movie. This book was a little out of my usual genre but I gave it a try and boy was I doing myself a favor with that decision. So good, so well thought out, and the 80s references are wonderfully accurate. Read this before (or even in place of) seeing the movie.

Patalt420

Greatest, in 20 years will be honored as so.. First book I have ever read, where it brought me to tears of joy.

UnrealHippo468

Disappointed. I’ve wanted this book for a while. The movie looks really good. I love video games so I thought this would be a good experience for me. But when I sampled it, I read something that said that the story of God was bullshi*. Being a devout Christian, this really ticked me off. I wish he knew that some people get offended and it’s better to just keep some thoughts to yourself because you never know who you might offend.

Mistermanahan

Overall great read. Definitely a great read. Very nostalgic to the point where it got tedious at times but felt necessary to let readers relate to the main character. Only complaint was that the last epic scene went by too quickly. Might have been because I was reading to fast but I wanted just a tad more on the climax of the scene. Still overall a great read.

Insiga

Loved it!!. Loved this book! Funny, intriguing, and well paced. Though it’s nothing like the movie (fair warning).

Tarkis14

I have read this 3 times and can’t wait for enlightenment time to pass so I can read it again.. My title said it all.

💙💙💙💙. This an amazing book! This world is brilliant and could happen in the near future! It is so unique and creative. But also draws elements from Tron, Wreck it Ralph, and more amazing movies! It also references a lot of movies and stuff from the 80’s!!! A must read for any age!

Ridbus

Amazing!!!👏🏼. Best book I’ve ever read. So much better than the movie! I’ve now read it over 3 times. Please read it. You will LOVE IT!!!

LadyBugAmber

80’s Fun. Ready Player One is a great book for people who love 80’s pop culture and futuristic dystopian fiction. Don’t expect the movie to mimic the book, you’ll be disappointed. Read this as a stand alone work of fiction which takes the reader through twists, turns, games, daily life, and small details of a crazy matrix. I read this before a movie was in the works but the storytelling and details placed one in my head. Enjoy this book but then take a giant step back to see the youth of today.

Great Book. Ernest Cline knocked this one out of the ballpark. The climax is action packed, the characters are relatable, the plot is unique and there’s some cheeky humor. And of course, there’s the thousands of 80’s references. Great read for teens and adults alike.

Amazing. I couldn’t stop reading it. Every free moment I had I was reading. Just an amazing book, took me back to my childhood. If you fondly remember the 80’s this is the adventure for you!

Ready Player One. This book encompasses everything anyone is into, gaming, Fantasia, futurism. It takes you on a wild ride through many aspects of what the future may have in store both good and bad. If you are into any of the aforementioned topics then I highly recommend giving Ready Player One a read. You will not regret it!!!

Tryko

Poignant and Gripping. This might be my favorite book in many years!!! All the eighties imagery rocked my world. I hope the movie does it justice

One of my favorites. I think I’ve read this book 12 times in the last year. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of reading it. It ranks as one of my top ten for sure. It brought back lots of memories of growing up in the ‘80’s.

Ready Player One. One of the G.O.A.T.’s when it comes to books! Witty, hilarious book that exited reader through their tenth time reading it and beyond! Highly Recommended!

Ur fake news

A definitive Book for those who grew up in the 80s/90s. I love this book so much I have read it over 10 times. I have even started a local club to talk about it and we even have a fun drinking game while we watch the movie adaptation when every time the movie gets something wrong we drink. Needless to say we get trashed quickly... don’t watch the movie!

Read as an assignment but enjoyed it!. I was originally given the task of reading this book and writing a book report about it. I had made it through the first few pages and couldn’t put it down!! Still don’t wanna write my book report though.

AWESOME BOOK. This is an awesome book, with a great idea, and perfectly written. Humor is the best part, and as well as the mix of video game references over the centuries.

Hi. Literally more than five stars read 18 times and it keeps getting better

Merciful_blood

Jjchvyguy

Great read. The movie doesn’t do this book justice.

Freymk

Great read. Loved this book. World building was amazing. The movie, on the other hand, was a huge let down.

Chezy Burger

Amazing. I really enjoyed it. I had a hard time going to bed and putting the book down.

Saintsdedric

Wow. This book had me on my toes the whole time! Must read!!!

Budderminecraftman

Neat. It was pretty great but I got a little lost in the middle

KendiKat😸

Awesome!!. This book was a stunning mix of romance, action, and everything. it’s 100% better than the movie and i’m so happy i got to read it

Danbearpig42

It’s not a book, it’s a list of 80s things. This is the worst book I have ever read. I forced myself to get all the way through the first Twilight book, I read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close to impress a girl (that should’ve been the first sign...) and this was a more painful read than either of those. DON’T DO THIS TO YOURSELF! Read some Brandon Sanderson instead!

Flarkle!

Terrible. This is, without question, one of the most poorly written books I’ve ever read. There is constant repetition, timelines don’t make sense, any drama the author manages to come up with lasts less than a page and it’s right back to the shoehorned references. My god, the references. There is such a thing as too many. There is also such a thing as an editor, but apparently nobody bothered with that step. There’s also the gross part where the main character berates a girl trying to get away from him into maintaining their relationship. Such nice-guy fantasy nonsense. Lastly, the fact that of the roughly 137 million references the only reference to a female seems to be Princess Leia (no surprise there). I’m fairly certain this author has serious issues with women. Avoid this nonsense.

Shy Summer

Disgusting. It was the worst book I have ever read! There were f bombs and s words on every other page. And an entire page was dedicated to wade watts talking about him masturbating with a robot etc... but the movie seems to be ok.

Dvial5

Awesome. I read the sample and am thinking about buying it. I really hope Ernest Cline comes out with new books!

Raymond.Duran26

Can’t put it down!. Thank you for this work of art.

MrLoar

Amazing Read. This book is an excellent read. Whereas the movie has a few more modern pop culture references, the book is loaded with 80’s nostalgia. If you were a total nerd like me growing up in the 80’s playing the early video game systems like Atari and Commodore 64 you will love this book.

Happy user 👍👍

Amazing Book!!!. I haven’t read the book through iBooks, I read it online, but it is still one of the best books I’ve ever read. In my opinion it is way better than the movie ever could be.

JUKE04

80’s Nostalgia !!!. Book was so much better than the movie like always. If you grew up during the 80’s like I did this book is a must read.

Halliday is canon

Ready player one is great!. I was sick and I had nothing to do so I finished this book in a day. It ended up becoming my favorite book. It’s fantastic and I recommend this book to everyone. I love this book and you will too. It also teaches you a bunch about American pop culture.

Austin Molina

Love the movie. Is there a MineCraft world in the Oasis?
