Really good book. DISCLAIMER! I didn’t use the digital version, I’m reviewing the book not the quality of the ebook. Anyways, I love this book, I haven’t even finished the entire thing! I didn’t think I would like it as I haven’t read a book willingly in years (By willingly I mean not being told to, I found it and just decided to read it)! I has hooked reading this at midnight because I just had to read more. 9/10

Awesome Book. My all time favorite book series has been “Diary Of A Wimpy Kid” for the longest time. I think Percy Jackson has just dethroned Wimpy Kid. First off, Percy is an extremely likable character. I love his POV and him always making these little jokes. Now that I’ve been reading Percy Jackson I know more about Greek Gods then I should…. Overall great book, can’t wait to get Chalice Of The Gods!

This book is WOW!!. It taught me some more than what I learned in school about Greek mythology gods like The goddess of revenge. It is a good book. Inspiring and Worrying like what’s going to happen!! I’m on the fourth book so far as today. This is my after read after the Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson. READ IT TOO!!!

Best series. Best series I’ve ever read.

A classic.. Very charismatic, likable and interesting. Having the books in a first person perspective was an ingenious move by Riordan. It would just be sooo much different from a third person perspective and would possibly take away from the charm of the original story. Hope that stay true with the new adaptation. Highly recommend this book for all middle schoolers.

Truly Amazing!. I finished this book in 2 days! Honestly it was perfect!! I’ve missed fantasy and when I picked up my phone and decided to read this one I just immediately fell in love and could not put it down (literally talk to my family I was reading wherever and whenever one could read)

Fun and action packed. I got recommended this book from my girlfriend and even though I haven’t seen any of the movies, I really enjoyed this. It’s a lot of good things mixed into one that sometimes made me go from laughing, to anger, to sadness, and back again. I really enjoyed this and now I am most likely going to be spending many days and hours reading the rest of the series.

Mythological and Action Packed. This story is your typical lonely, troubled kid that’s ends up learning that they have powers and needs to save the world. And this book performs this magnificently. Considering the demographic for this book, I think this is a perfect story containing great friendships, action, and it even teaches you about Greek mythology. Fun read for any age. One side point, if you or your child has ADHD (like myself) that they are struggling with, this story is very comforting and you can really relate to Percy and his struggles.

Favorite Book Series!!!. I LOVE the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series! It is so adventurous and fun to read. I would literally read this book in school. I recommend the book to anyone who loves action and adventure. BUT there is one problem. So many people say that they like younger kids to read it. I personally think that because of war, death and some hostility it should be for people who are at lest 13. Other then the age recommendations I LOVE the series and recommend it to anyone who is at lest 13.

Great book. My son is 11 and read this for school and it became a family favorite. The girls who are 9 loved it and wanted to hear the whole story. It grabbed the whole family’s attention. Would definitely recommend.

I love it. Percy Jackson is my life. My teacher gives us eight dollars to spend on books for our birthdays. So I picked out the Hunger Games for 5$ and Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief for 3$. After I finished The Lightning Thief I went to my mom and she promised to put The Sea Of Monsters on hold. I had to wait a whole month. I died in that month. I love AnnaBeth and Grover. Game changer. I absolutely loved this book, adored it. It changed my perspective on so many things in my life and everytime I opened the book I felt invested in the pages. Simply a good book. I loved reading this book it allows you to dive into a fictional story that’s simply amazing and exciting.

A Truly Amazing Book. This book is full of adventure and will make you feel like you might have powers too. Rick Riordan must have put so much time into making this and that’s evident because he has made all these references and words that make since with the book. Like characters in the book might say something like, “Holy Hera!” If they’re surprised. I think that is so cool, and I could never do that in any of the papers my mom makes my write for homeschool. I love the slang, but that’s not all, there is so much possibility in this book and so little flaws. (And I also love the way he does the chapters with the name of the chapter being the character’s name in the book, in their perspective). I just want to say thank you to Rick Riordan for giving us something to read/ listen to when we’re bored.

If you’re looking for a new series then you found it.. This book is so amazing that when I was in school we were supposed to read it as a class but I may have gotten a bit too interested and read the whole thing. A day ago I was thinking that Wings of Fire was the best series in the world and is far better than every book but honestly now I’m not so sure after reading a couple books in the series. I hope you enjoy this masterpiece as much as I did.

Amazing!!!. Naturally, I hate books with monsters and stuff. So do most of my friends. But I started reading this book and I couldn't stop! It's an amazing book, full of adventure and fun. I totally support Percabeth too! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone! It also started getting me interested in Greek mythology! Jeez, before I read this book, the only thing I new was Zeus, a guy who has a big statue with blank eyes! But when I finished the series, I could name all the gods, mythical monsters and pretty much everything else! Hip, hip hooray, for Rick Riordan!

Great series! Love it! 9+. I love these books! I am currently on The Battle of the Labyrinth and I think it is the best one of the series so far! I don’t believe in Greek gods but they are fun to read about when Rick Riordan is writing the books! I love all the characters, especially Percy! He is not just another dull and serious main character, he is brave, selfless and really really funny! The humour that Uncle Rick puts into these books is what makes them so great. He knows how to write a good kids book, from a kids POV, and doesn’t give Percy the personality of an adult. Yet, he still writes with maturity when it is needed. And Also, Percy is such a great role model for your kids! I have learned so much about Greek mythology in these books! All the stories and characters are so fascinating! (My favourite Greek story is the one with Theseus in the Labyrinth) . Also, if you want to buy these for your kid but your worried, I got you! These books are totally appropriate, there is no swearing, no sexual stuff or intense kissing, and not a ton of blood or gore. There are battles but nothing too descriptive. The only thing you might want to beware of is that it does talk a lot about death and the underworld ( hell ) and hades ( the devil). There is a part where a boy summons the dead, and there are walking skeletons, but it really doesn’t describe much. Overall these books are totally great for any age( you can never be too old for Percy Jackson!) but I’d say 9+ or whatever age you are comfortable with your child reading them. Sorry that this was really long but I hope I informed you with what you needed!

Awsome. Dear Rick riordan I read all of the books for the lightning thief sires. I loved those books. From my point of view I read the lightning thief it was good then I read the sea of monsters. I liked that better then the lightning thief. Like after every book I read of that sires it was like you took it up a notch. Each book got more and more challenging and more and more interesting. But the only reason I started the first book was that the illusion of the cover you put so much detail into it just the title. Yellow and the end of ever letter was in lightning form. Then the back ground manhattan in the back ground with a storm over it. It caught my eye like it was telling me to read it. I have read other books and it had a noun in it and it showed it in the back ground like the maze runner the maze was right in the back ground. When i looked at the lightning thief I realized it was going to be a good book because the word was right in the back ground. I knew it was going to be a good book. My favorite was the last Olympian. Started it finished it in 2 to 3 days I sampled the red pyramide I read that book it hooked me and I will read that sires too. And the hero's of Olympus. you a very good author. Your adventure story's hook me like my mothers cooking. You keep writing and I will keep read reading.i can't wait to see the movies of the lightning thief books I hope there good as the books.

I loved this story so much!. From the second I opened the first page I fell in love with this story. It does not skimp on action, that’s a guarantee! I finished the book in 2 days of vigorous reading and enjoyed every second of it. While you are enjoy such an amazing plot and storyline you are also learning a TON about Greek mythology! The characters are well thought out and I love all of them! When you think it can’t get any better it amazes you again. You really feel like your there, and witness the characters development. It has detail so you know exactly how it looks, yet not so much to the point that it’s boring. It’s really just an amazing story and it cannot cease to impress. I would recommend ages 10+ as it does have quite a few violent and scary scenes, tough it is not graphically described. It’s described just enough and I do not see it as intense in that regard. A great story and I cannot imagine a reason one would dislike it. 100% recommend worth the money for sure!

Percy Jackson. It was amazing!!!

This book is AMAZING!. I am a nine year old class clown. And I am having the most hard time ever, because of the corona virus. I’m left alone and really sometimes after I’m done with my schoolwork on the computer, I really just want to go on my reading chair and open a book. But still even know I am a class clown, I get really emotional. Anyway right now I was in the middle of a book called Inkdeath and it was really boring. So I declared that I will read another book. So I was just about to start the Inheritance Cycle, but before that, I had a very emotional experience. So I knew that I’ve already read Percy Jackson, and it was amazing. I didn’t choose to read the series again, but I started a Rick Rioradan book series; The Trials Of Apollo. I know that this is a review for the lightning thief, but I just want to tell everybody that if you’re a lonely kid like me, stuck in your house. Then I super mega strongly suggest that you read Rick Rioradan!

It’s a quick addicting read and you’ll be dying to get the next book. My brother recommended this to me after he read it when he was my age. I quickly read all of the books in that series in under 2 weeks. You should definitely read it! It’s worth the money.

LOVE IT!!. I read this book and the others in the series and loved it. Read them again and again, and finally got my sister to read them. She went from reading nothing but Harry Potter to reading nothing but Percy Jackson. Adorable relationships and relatable, lovable characters throughout the series. Haven’t found a series this good since Harry Potter and Hunger Games 😉

Wish my younger self had the chance to experience this book. As a kid I never really got the chance to get into Percy Jackson, so after reading this book I severely regret it... Never to late to catch up though!

Entertaining. I ended up reading this book because it was on my “books suggested for you” list. Also, I saw the two movies of this series (that won’t be continued 😭) & I need to know what happened! I fell in love with the first movie & decided to give it a try. I love that both the book & movie have the Greek stories, but they modernize them.

Still amazing years later. This book could not have made me more nostalgic then ever. It’s still just as fun a read as it was back in 6th grade and so glad I decide to pick up a copy to relive the amazing adventure of Percy Jackson. A must read!

Recommended to 4th graders going to 5th. The whole Percy Jackson series is wonderful I read them all in 4th grade loved them. Great. I read this series when I was in 4th and 5th grade and loved it. It was funny, relatable, and filled with action and it’s definitely a classic. It made me actually enjoy learning about greek mythology and made me want to learn more about it. I read most of Rick Riordan’s books and enjoyed them all as much as the percy jackson series. OH. MY. GODS. STOP COMPARING PERCY TO HARRY F-ING POTTER. Ok so, first things first... don’t you DARE compare Percy to Harry Potter. I TRIED to read the Harry Potter series two times. I got threw the second book. And we all know that Harry Potter is NOTHING like Percy Jackson. NOTHING! Why would you guys say that? This is a book about the gods and a boy who didn’t know he was the son of one of the major gods until he was ATTACKED by a monster on a field trip! (Looking at you, Mrs. Dotts) and the thing I love the most about Percy Jackson is HES MY AGE AND HE DEALS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS AS ME!! Of course those problems are on a higher scale then mine (doing something for a bully, who might as well be Aries) but Harry doesn’t do that, he has problems like, Fighting and evil sorcerer and surviving the attack on his house when he was little! NO ONES DONE THAT!! And I like the fact that humans can’t see the magic, because of the Mist (a magical vail that shields the eyes of mortals). I would give ANYTHING to be a half blood! (Because of the weird shyst I see) or even be a mortal who can see threw the Mist! Like Rachel or Sally! My halloween costume has been Annabeth Chase every year since I was seven! (If you read the books you’ll see why seven and not six, the year I read the book!) I love the Percy Jackson series and DONT like it when people decide to hate on it and call it a ripoff of Harry Potter! CAUSE ITS NOT!! GODS OF OLYMPUS!!! Ps. Age level. I believe that this book is for 4th or 5th graders like someone named Lynn the elf recommended, it’s pretty intense and has a lot of battles, but that’s the best part about it!!!

Recommending this series!. I had read this series a few years back since our class had been learning about Greek Mythology at that time. My teacher for that class had recommended this series. I decided to give it a try, but stopped after the first chapter because I didn’t like it because it seemed to not catch my attention so much. Then a few months later, I decided to go back to this series and actually read it. I don’t regret it! The book was awesome, and now I’ve finished all the books in PJO, HOO, and I’m waiting for The Tower of Nero in TOA to come out. Rick definitely has made a few changes in mythology (by making it a bit more modern) in these books, but that didn’t make it bad at all. It made the plot and story more entertaining. If you’re looking for something entertaining with a fantasy plot, I’d recommend this series and all of rick’s books. They only get better and better!

Love love LOVED this book!. Every time I read this series it gets better and better. I recommend it to literally anyone! It is interesting, the characters are so amazing and powerful, and the plot is just so interesting and crazy! READ THIS!

Good old percy. I love Percy Jackson. The main character is funny without trying too hard, not annoying, and somewhat relatable. This is a must read for everybody.

Very Good Read.. I personally don’t like to read. It bores me, so I usually spend me time playing video games or playing outside. Rick created a book that I like to read on my own time. When teachers have a Mandatory reading session I read this book. It has a very interesting story and the characters are cool. I recommend reading this book and all of the other books in this series.

I wish the Percy Jackson and the Olympians will continue forever :( Anyway, this is the best book I have ever read and I am so glad that my social studies teacher show the movie to us because that is the reason why I read the book and the whole series

Best book series I’ve read. I started reading these books In 3rd or 4th grade, but after that I was hooked. Rick keeps you reading with all the cliffhangers at the end of the books, the funny parts, or the characters you learn about. I absolutely love these books and have read them more than once. Definitely recommend them!!

2nd time reading this book. i read this series when i was in 6th grade and decided to come back to it. it’s always been my favorite series and it doesn’t get worse the 2nd time around. great book. rick riordan is truly an artist.

Favorite fiction book series ever!. When I started this series in 6th grade I didn’t think anything could top Harry Potter which had been my favorite since second grade. But halfway into the Lighting thief I knew this was something special. Percy resonated with me and I love history and mythology so the facts about Greek myths Rick Riordan so cleverly weaved into the pages of this book delighted me. Now I’m going into high school and this book series is still my favorite. Rick Riordan’s writing only gets better and Percy slowly matures into the powerful, brave, selfless leader he is at the end of the series. And it doesn’t stop there, his story continues into the Hero’s of Olympus along with Annabeth and the new demigods Leo, Jason, Piper, Hazel, and Frank. And I forgot to mention, Annabeth and Percy as a couple, which doesn’t happen until later books, is amazingly crafted and I love the two of them to death. This series is perfect for Middle schoolers to teach them Mythology and purely for amazing entertainment. Rick Riordan has my utmost respect and this series has my love.

Easy to get. Once you read you know all the charictors well and you always know wats going on.

Awesome books. I’ve read the whole “hero’s of Olympus” series before and even though they can’t beat “harry Potter” their still awesome books. I highly recommend them

The title is OK,but I would want it different.. This book is amazing .I just finished it and I am about to start the next one.

Truly amazing 🤩 read now, you won’t regret it.. this book, as well as the rest of pjo/hoo/toa are by far one of the best book series I have ever had the pleasure to read. the characters are compelling, easy to connect with, lovable and so incredibly iconic, for i have never felt so in-tuned with a main character like i have with percy. over the course of my many rereads, i have discovered so many small details that give the story so much life. these books have given me a place to retreat from hectic every day life and just live through the lives of my comfort characters. this series had me crying tears of joy as well as sadness, making me deeply feel for all the characters. even though i first read this series in fourth grade (and I’m in high school now,) these books still hold a special place in my heart that no other series have yet to replace. in conclusion, I would greatly encourage anyone to read these books, for if their influence on my life is any telling, these books are masterpieces.

Great pacing, characters, and plot. I personally think that Rick Riordan’s books are better than the Harry Potter books. Don’t hate me. Rick is incredible with pacing, and he can make you laugh, and his characters are so diverse. It’s really easy to project in these books, especially because they’re in first person and we can hear Percy’s thoughts, most of which are hilarious. There are some more emotional moments throughout the series, but overall, it’s great for younger audiences. If you’re going to read The Lightning Thief, I suggest you read the whole series, by library book, ebook, or hard copy.
