Predictable. This was a terrible book about a annoying protagonist who nearly murders a kid, then goes a year in a remote Alaskan island instead of jail time and then sees a wrong in his ways causing him to change for the better. It leads to an ending that I thought was way too predictable.

Love it. This book is amazing. I gave it a try and i don't even like books. Great storyline and keeps you wanting to read more.

5 Stars. In my opinion, this is a very wise book, it teaches multiple lessons, I would definitely recommend 11+ because of the vocabulary, overall its a great book and I very well enjoyed it.

Touching SpiritBear -My response. The reason I love this book is because it shows real life situations and problems. Like misunderstood kids, parents who were raised by complete maniacs. Getting drunk just because your scared of being afraid. This stuff happens in life, this book showed me that I can help people like that become better people. When Cole is attacked by the spirit bear I thought of the pain, and to me that would feel like failing 5 quizzes and being attacked by a bear. Heh. So as I said this book shows a lot of reality and what it would be like to have parents I MEAN A LIFE like Cole Matthews.

Great book, but summary needs work. I'm reading the book for a class project, and I love it!! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is the summary. It was mostly accurate exept for the fact that the boy's name is PETER. Not ALEX. The capitalization is on the wrong letters, and the punctuation is wrong all throuought the summary. Other than that, GREAT BOOK. I suggest you buy it.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!. My teacher is making us read this in class in seventh grade and I absolutely hate it! My teacher loves it though we lie to her about how much we love it but we don't. We've never even heard of this book before. I must sound like a trouble maker right now but it was some way to tell the world that kids have strong opinions too. But I guess I have to read it I don't want to get in trouble I've never been in trouble at school before. So just thought you'd like to know my opinion. A must read. This was a great book. It started off slow and gave me time to question what was going on then when things started you band it all fell in place, idk, it was just an amazing read. You gain a new perspective on life from this book. I read hundreds of books but this one stood out the most. To the author, I thank you.

more than expected. the title won’t seem like much but contains an extreme meaning. 100% recommend this book 💕 what i loved about most was animals being included in this and how amazing this book can be if you really connect to it. the author really put in a lot of work to make this book unforgettable, and how he and his wife adopted a bear, amazingly remarkable. looking forward to adopt a bear myself ☺️💕

I’m reading this book as a class right now we are on chapter 17 but I couldn’t stay away so I bought it on here and I just finished it I got to say Cole reminds me of me and the bad decisions I’ve made and this book has taught me so much and that I shouldn’t get trouble and that I just should learn to forgive myself and others and that it’s important to keep calm and not get angry at little things that are stupid just reading this book has given me a life lesson and I’m so so glad that my teacher introduced me to this book

Great story about a young man finding his purpose in life.. I read this a few years ago and was amazed my the story line. A young man with a trouble past must face isolation to redeem him self. It does jump back and forth between "flashbacks" but they are not intrusive. Recommended.
