Exactly What You Want. A thrilling book that is deserving of every one of the five stars I gave it. Keeps the pages turning with anxiety, excitement, and curiosity! Connelly does a good job keeping the perspectives of the character aligned and keeping your perspective aligned with where he wants it to be. Fantastic novel.

Rivetting!. This is the one that started it all. If you are a Michael Connelly fan, you have to read this book! It may be his best work, IMHO. I read it after reading several of his other works, in order to get up to speed on later references. I loved it so much, I've read it two times since. You won't be disappointed.

Great read.. All of the cliches apply - page-turner, spell-binding, twisting-plot, and more, but the best part is - a really enjoyable read.

Connelly is a must read author!. This book will not disappoint. I don’t find it as scary as King states but is well written and a fast mover. I just finished it and I feel physically tired what a tale!

The Poet. Once again Mr. Connelly has written an enthralling page turner. Pivot points are ultimately the biggest surprises. I realize this is not one of his recent books but it is equally great. The first book of his I read was The Closers, then I read others and basically skipped around his later books finally realizing I should start at the beginning of his Bosch books and decided to read through each one chronologically as he wrote them which also means the McEvoy and Haller books mixed in. I am on to the next book like a detective. Ha! Great read, great read!

AMAZING!. This book is amazing, it kept me captivated from beginning to end! I have already recommended it to all of my close friends. As a former psychology major, now minor, this book was right up my alley and did not disappoint

The Poet. I have to agree with Stephen King’s forward to this book; it will become a true classic. It pulls you in and twists you along with Jack seeking answers and finding reasons to suspect almost everyone. I’m fascinated by profiling and enjoys the combination of that world along with a journalists search for his story.

Keeping in Connelly style. Though this story starts out interesting, it lags a little in the middle of the first half. That said, the ending is so twisty and unexpected that it kept me up half the night to finish it. I have enjoyed every single one of the Bosch series, Haller series and now McEvoy is not a disappointment either. This book hit every sweet spot of serial killer vibes and truly brought the element of surprise.

True page turner!. I’m already a fan of Michael C. and reading The Poet was a true delight! The story keeps you riveted until the very end. Read it and you will see what I mean!

A book to keep you on your feet.. This book was pure gold with mystery novels. You think you have a guess on how it ends but you never truly know. If you're a fan I highly suggest this book, I've read it several times and love it more and more

Follow the bouncing psycho ball. Fast, furious with twists & turns in each chapter. The characters are well defined, physically & emotionally. Great read.

Favorite Connelly So Far. 5 Stars. Surprisingly, this is my favorite Connelly book so far. Don’t get me wrong, they have all been pretty great so far but this one stands out. It also makes me realize how late to the Bosch Universe party that I am. The entire cast of characters were remarkable. The mystery had me completely fooled. King was right, the evil was horrific. It was a thriller that didn’t have the requisite unbelievable escapes, they all made sense. What a read. If you haven’t, read it when you’re finished with whatever you’re reading now. Wow.

A Great Storyteller. This book was written not by a great author, it was written be a great storyteller. Every scene is expertly described, every character is carefully crafted and the plot and the ending will keep you riveted throughout the book.

I'm hooked.... This was the first Michael Connelly book I ever read. Picked it up on Vacation around 7years ago, and couldn't put it down. I've been hooked on his writing ever since. I have read probably 20-30 of his books. If you like, lawyer-fbi-cop suspense thrillers with well thought out criminals and plot twists, read more of MC.
