Once Upon A Crime by Nolon King
Once Upon A Crime by Nolon King Book Summary
Once upon a time, the Grimms' fairy tales taught lessons. Now, the Grimm Reaper does.
New detective Chelsea Sullivan is partnered with a maverick famous for closing cases and infamous for how he does it. He has a target on his back and a chip on his shoulder. Not exactly how she hoped to kick off her first homicide case.
Jim McPherson doesn't mind showing an up-and-comer the ropes, but he does mind when she keeps putting herself in harm's way. Especially since her innocence is exactly the trait the serial killer seems to be targeting. Unless they're missing a crucial detail. And he can't help but think his new partner knows what it is.
The body count is rising and the Grimm Reaper is after Chelsea. If they can't catch him before he catches her, there will be no happily ever after.

Good book. Enjoyed the plot, it was different.
Once upon a Crime. Too much emphasis on the friction between detectives, when the underlying story line was good enough to carry the novel. Still enjoyed it though.
Once Upon a Crime. An excellent read. Good plot and characters. This book held my interest to the end.
Knew the killer by second chapter. Too many discrepancies and characters were miserable flat and annoying. Glad it was free.
Once Upon A Crime. Very good read thank k
Once Upon A Crime. Enjoyed the book and the characters in it. Figured out who did it long before they figured it out. Thanks kept me entertained.
Suspenseful. Great page-turner mystery!
Battering banter…. Almost 5 stars. Enjoyed the story but will say that the first half of the book was somewhat spoiled by the repetitive bickering between the new partners. Not fun or funny, just annoying and exhausting to read.
Fast paced.. Awesome!
Good. Good book. Well written. Some surprises but figured out who was the culprit by chapter 20 ish. Even so I enjoyed the book
Ridiculous. Could not stand the simpering, pouting, “detective,” Chelsea. Acted about five years old. She couldn’t have been more unprofessional, insulting her much more experienced partner, sulking, even stomping her feet at more than one point. This book is way too long and repetitive. I got disgusted early on, but scanned the rest at top speed just to see whodunnit, which was no surprise!
Good but….. The book was good. A bit slow. A bit annoying at the detectives not getting along for imagined insults. I guessed early on who the killer was.
Ugggh. The premise of the book was ok & it could have been a really good book but…I’m so tired of the damsel in distress narrative!!! Women don’t become cops/detectives by being all weak & needy. We don’t always need some big strong man to protect us…that got really old, really quickly in this story! Without that being the major story line this would have been an enjoyable read, & it turned me off to the point I won’t be reading the next one.
Awesome!. This book was SO. GREAT. I thought Sullivan & McPherson could have gotten along a little better (maybe because I’m usually a romance reader) but other than that it was a great read!
Yes. I liked it.

Absolutely Incredible!!!. I loved all the investigations, and what the killer did. it made the story unlike any other. 10/10 recommend if you’re into murder mistories and crime. I am definitely purchasing book 2 & 3!!!
Once Upon A Crime. It starts with a new detective, being paired up with someone she initially can’t stand. An interesting story with numerous twists in the plot to keep up interest. Well done.
I loved it. So many twists and turns, the ending was very well written and I have to say that the beginning was very intriguing. The rest of the story was well paced and even. I would read all Nolon Kings books if wasn’t cheap.
Shockingly predictable. Not a convincing mystery or partnership. The murderer is evident from the beginning and dialogue between protagonists is repetitive and unrealistic.
Once upon a crime. A good plot somewhat of a pity that the lead character comes across as somewhat childish given that she was a police officer for some years. I felt like reaching into the story and giving her a smack and telling her to grow up.
Juvenile bickering is too much. The constant and unrealistic bickering between the two main characters makes this book unreadable.
Good but predictable. Solved the mystery within the first few chapters, which made it very easy to see through whilst reading. Apart from being super predictable it was still a good read, just lacking any surprise twist or turn.
Good read. Goo reading.
Once upon a crime. You have to read it.
Once upon a crime. A good read, building up to a clever climax, enjoyed the easy style and didn’t over complicate.
