From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes book four in her Blood and Ash series.

From the desperation of golden crowns…

Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

And born of mortal flesh…

Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.

A great primal power rises…

Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.

As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

Amazing. Her books are amazing. Period. I was kept in suspense and awe through the whole book. What a page turner. Can’t wait to read the next.

Ajade7890

YALL ARE HATEFUL. THIS BOOK IS GREAT. This is amazing. Truly encompasses what I was looking forward to and expecting! But not expecting all at the same! This was intense, thought out and well planned! Y’all are hateful people, you knew what was going to happen, she eluded to it in BOTH books before this. If y’all don’t like it, that’s fine. But don’t act shocked. Thank you for this book Jennifer! I loved every second.

Wlh001

Loved it. The War of Two Queens is the fourth book in the Blood and Ash series and is best read after A Shadow in the Ember which is the first book in The Flesh and Fire series that shares the same universe as the Blood and Ash series. I just absolutely loved getting to reenter this amazing wonderful. I was just drawn into this wonderful story and I was just captivated by everything that was taking place. My emotions were just all over the place and I just felt so much for these characters and all that they have to go through. You just can’t help but fall more in love with them after each story. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

L1sztom@nia0

Tedious mostly. There was an opportunity for the plot to really become something based on how we ended it last book but the bag was fumbled. Even the dialogue between the main characters is becoming stale.

NovaBravoOne

Wow. I loved all the books and can’t wait to see how far the continuation will go!

Daises23

Don’t waste your time. If I could give this book less than 1 star I would. I never leave reviews on here but with this one I had to. This book ruined the entire series, ruined Poppy & Cas’ relationship, ruined their characters, this whole thing was awful. It’s like she wrote really bad fanfiction of her own characters & then published it. Won’t be continuing with this series.

Marra Allen

Just amazing. I read this book in about 2 and a half days and I am just obsessed! I absolutely love this series and cannot wait for another book!!

Viki9666

Not so impressed. This book went on and on, at some point thw middle wasn’t too interesting anymore. And then the JOINING. The whole sex scene with kieren, cas & poppy. Wasn’t really necessary. After spending 3 books building thier relationship (cas&poppy) she has to crash it with this throuple. Phew 😮‍💨 it’s a no no

Toryynt

Amazing No Words. This book was amazing I couldn’t put it down. There are truly no words for her genius writing

Jessiepoopatzer

Ahhh. I got sucked in… I need more. Lol

Buchmom

At odds. Great ending - too drawn out throughout the book.

Zombiewife17

Absolutely loved it. I absolutely love this series! Every book that comes out becomes my new favorite. There are plenty of people out there that didn’t like the direction this one took, but personally I loved it. The connections these characters make are beautiful and the plot comes to a great turning point. I can’t wait for the next release!

AP Juarez

Disappointed. Like mentioned in other reviews, its was very long for no apparent reason, the book could have been concluded in a hundred pages, that's how much filler this book had. It’s as if the first book and this book were written by completely different authors, it’s that bad. I don’t recommend reading, this series started off promising but I recommend stopping after book two.

JerzeeJacque

Oh my gods. I’ve read each book of this series so far. The story line is great and so is the love story.. I can’t figure out who’s hotter Cas or Kieran?! But there are ALOT of different gods and worlds and the story of their creation and demise etc.. U cannot pick up any of these books wo reading previous ones. I found myself rereading a few chapters to get a better understanding or clear up confusion.. Overall a good read, I’m looking forward to book 5.

Burg burg

Very Disappointing…. I’m sorry I really wanted to like this book but it dragged. Hard. The dialog was bad, the action was short and not of the caliber I expected, lastly the plot twisted so many times I gave up caring. The premise deserved more than this. It felt like a deadline needed to be met and everyone just said eff it! Go to print! I’m so disappointed I paid for this.

Laurkussee

Love this series. I personally love the relationship between poppy, cas and kieren. This series is full of twists and turns and I’ve loved every book!! Can’t wait for the next one.

Shark teeth hunter

Loved it. Unbelievably fantastic. Can’t get enough. Characters are great…story is so good. Never a dull moment

Zynayda

So, so. Loved the good parts, but this book was more of a “filler” than anything else. Loved it anyway tho.

Thiiisss Guuyyyy

I love this series. I read this book faster than I would have liked, but the series is just far too well written. I love that this book had chapters and parts from Casteel’s perspective rather than just Poppy’s. The ending is sort of a cliff hanger- okay it’s definitely a cliff hanger, but I’m okay with waiting for however long I need to for the next book ! Kinda wrapped stuff up, kinda didn’t, but I’m not going to spoil it for you so don’t worry. Either way, this is probably one of my favorite series, if not my favorite ever. So excited for the rest of the books to come out and blow my mind and take up all my time just like the first four books did!

Wild jb lover

I need the next two !!!. So amazing

OKAY, VERY SLOW and boring at times. Story is very long and very boring in places. Sex scenes between Cas And Poppy are detailed and boring. I do not care where Cas put his lips, his fingers and his penis on Poppy. Very , Very. boring and is not necessary for this story. I read all four books in this series: Book # 1 promising of a good story to come. Book # 2 slow and boring. Book # 3 Very repetitive , boring not interesting. Book # 4 slow , boring And happy to finish this series. August31, 2022 Pepper Freeport New York

The War of Two Queens. OMG that book was hard to get through. The action is so sporadic and spaced out. I had to force myself to finish this book because I’m not a quitter. I feel as though this book was so full of unnecessary storylines and heritage references. What I find the most odd is how boring the entire book is and how the ending just seemed super rushed.

😲lol😲

World changing events. Casteel has been captured. Poppy has to find a way to free him and fight the war her mother has incited. There has been some controversy regarding how certain things were portrayed in this book. I’m going to address this right off and say that I do not feel that the author was in any way unfaithful to the character and story development she had established In previous books. This book begins almost immediately after the events of the last book. There is so much forward movement of the plot that sometimes has t can be overwhelming to remember everything but in the end it all pays off. I love how in-depth the world building is and how the author brings her characters to life. I am so excited to see what happens going forward.

💗alex💜

The most boring book I’ve ever read. It took me 7 months to finish this book because I could not physically make myself read more than a few pages at a time. No spoilers however, the entirety of the book is the main group of characters running in circles. Not one single thing of interest happens until the VERY ending. I quite literally could not recall anything of importance because it was THAT boring and uneventful. One other thing is the witty banter. Every single conversation is cringeworthy and childish and that’s usually where I ended up putting the book down for days or weeks. This series has progressively gotten less and less interesting with each book and I cannot fathom what the next book could entail. Very sad because I loved the first book and this series had so much potential.

Kattie Jack

Blood and Ember series. Wow this series so so amazing and intense and very much so an adult series. Penelope and Castell relationship is wow oh wow but the storyline and characters will keep you up all night so be prepared! I’m not a big reader so what does that tell about Jennifer’s books?

SuzieQ-12

The War of Two Queens. Pre-ordered this finale book of the series. I felt the ending was rushed into one chapter and the sexual content was too over the top and repetitive. If you like hard core sexual content then this book would be a 5. I was just disappointed in the ending and skipped thru the repetitive sex between Poppy and Cas.

Ari__Kari

Amazing. Another incredible piece in this series! Cannot wait for the next installment, truly the best books I have read in years.

Mesha296

Perfection!!. I ate this book up! Literally read it in three days and couldn’t put it down. It was EPIC!!!

Kar3737

Amaazziinnggg!. Gah I have no words! This book was everything! My #1 series by far! Just amazing!

Socialbutterfly22

I really wanted to love it…. I’m going to talk spoilers bc I can’t address what bothered me without it. I’ve loved this series for Poppy & Casteel’s relationship, and I’ve loved Kieran’s character and wanted him to find love too. But after the Joining, now this seems like it’s going to be more of a throuple between Cas, Poppy, & Kieran and I just….that’s not for me. It feels like it lessens the relationship between Cas & Poppy now. There’s an imbalance. Cas & Poppy are married. They’re king and queen. Platonic friendships can be just as important as romantic ones. I don’t know why she didn’t just have it stay at that. The Joining needed to happen so Cas wouldn’t die before Poppy. Kieran needing to be that bridge is a bonus bc we love him and don’t want him to die. However, now it’s weird. They’re all three cuddling and holding hands and just…no. It didn’t have to be that way. They could’ve still had that platonic bond and it not have been sexual. But besides the main issue, this book took me over a month to read because it just seemed to drag on and on. And I say that as a person who has been flying through my TBR this year. I remember loving the first two books in this series so much that I read both in less than a week. I feel like she is really good at endings, they always hype me up for the next one, but the beginning and middle has kinda been boring these last few books. I’m still going to read the rest of the series, but I hope they get better pacing-wise. And I really hope she doesn’t make Kieran, Cas & Poppy an actual throuple.

Iphone5ttyl

Loved it. Best book of the series yet. The one liners, the plot, the hints to flesh and fire, loved it all!!

Jschovajsa

Slower than other books in the series. I really like this series, but this book in particular was just slow throughout much of it. I blew through the first 3 books and this one just kept losing my attention. I love the story and will continue reading the series, but this one just wasn’t my favorite.

Ilovejlabooks22

Best on earth!. Absolutely amazing!!!

Sdrzxy

Emmm... first three books are absolutely amazing! It was addicting and hard to put down. But I think the book went awkward when the joining happened though, it’s so weird to have a sexual relationship with your best friend and his wife omg, it was unnecessary and they could’ve stopped. I really really hope the relationship stays between Casteel and Poppy, we don’t need another Jacob(also wolven ha!) between Edward and Bella

Livbattista

Amazing!!!. Can’t wait for the next books!!!!!

LolaLoca16

Read it. Stop looking at the good reads or one star comments. It is still a Poppy and Cas love story with world building still the theme. No one is emotionally cheating on anyone.

Ford-08

Great with one exception.. Great book the amount of sex scenes gets old in this last book. I would still recommend the series.

Gamesender

Wow!. Amazing series!

Maddykne

Disappointed. The love relationship between poppy and Kieran has gotten weird and uncomfortable tbh and I’m not here for it!!! I loved the friendship they were building from book 1 to 3. Now Kieran and poppy are LOVERS, too? I’m so confused 😕 idk if I’m going to finish the series but I do hope moving forward with the other books the author makes some changes with her characters.

Jadia ashley

love it. I started reading this series in my book club, and instantly became obsessed. I finished all four books within a week. I can’t wait for the story to continue.

Imwrittingareview

Outstanding read!!. This was one of the best in the series. I cannot wait for the next one!!!

Cec(i)

Dragging…. This book could have been cut in half and the plot/romance would not have suffered. Author spends three books developing/describing a relationship as singular, rare between two protagonists so much so that when Kieran and poppy’s friendship grows she makes sure say it’s different from the relationship between poppy and cas and that it’s not romantic. Poppy/cas/kieren share a friendship that is clearly established throughout all the books. So the “Joining” didn’t add to their friendship, bond, or character development, it simply made it sexual and cheapened the Actual friendship and the romance story she has been building up for three whole books. Not impressed

Willow210

Why Isn’t this series a movie yet!. Love these books!

MoniqueNuzum

Fabulous but long!. This was a great book full of everything we’ve come to expect from this series! It had twists and turns in every chapter. Poppy and Cas’s love was powerful and amazing. Poppy coming into all that she is was a great way to continue the story! My only negative (if you have to have one in a review) is it was long. There were parts of the story that perhaps, in my humble opinion, could have been omitted or shortened. However I would never give advise to an author this amazing to do something to their writing that might make it less. That’s why she does the writing and I do the reading. It’s a fabulous read and most importantly, I’m hungry for book 5, but the ending left me at peace and ok waiting patiently for the continuation of epic story. Please hurry Ms. Armentrout!!

Heatherkay4

I have to agree. With everyone who said the sex scene with Poppy, Casteel, & Keira cheapened the friendship. The book’s plot was way too drawn out with the ending being the only decent part of the book. It’s a shame since the other books were good.

Chanchan15

EPIC!!!!. Sooooooo incredibly good! READER! Don’t listen to these NUTS! The WHOLE series including this book ROCKS! One of the best series EVA!!!

Guzin1

Meh. Not what I want in my Protagonist. Warning: Semi spoiler below regarding character relationships. I’m a fan of her work but this one was simply not as good as the others. Dragged on quite a bit with no real purpose. And yeah I know “the” sex scene was eluded to in the books leading up to it but it was still gross. Despite the “I’m a strong female who makes her own choices with no regrets” narrative, all it did was perpetuate the stereotypical and purely male fantasy. Could be that other readers enjoyed it—to each their own and all that—but I found it disappointing and icky. Doesn’t mean I won’t read the next book in this series—I probably will—but first I’ll read to reviews to see if that particular type of relationship continues. I’m thinking (hoping) it was a one time thing. But if there’s more of it in there, I’ll skip the rest of this series.

Meg.kamille

Good read. This was a fun read. I love the story.

Foreverians

Perfect. Everything I hoped for and more! I cannot stop reading these books, well done!

Smoore24367

Good but could be better. I enjoy the books but wish the author would tone doesn’t the erotica a bit. It happens too often for it to be useful to the plot.

Amazing!. It was amazing I loved the whole series, the plot the romance the spice absolutely everything and I would read it again in a heartbeat

Kay PC-0922-4303

Loved It. *potential spoilers ahead* I loved this book. I think the world that Jennifer L. Armentrout has built is so interesting and getting to see her two series intertwine was incredibly satisfying. The bonds between characters are growing in this book and I personally am a fan of how they progressed. Were some of the plot devices a little convenient? Yes. Am I mad about it? Nope. I was relieved at the end because she had me devastated for about a minute. It might not be “realistic” but I’m reading a fantasy romance and I want my favourites to be well at the end. I think JLA delivered on this book and I am eager to read the rest of the storylines!

Orange777777

Review might have spoilers. I really loved this series. I couldn’t read the first three books fast enough. This last instalment is a little disappointing… the pace is very slow… i’m halfway through the book and im forcing my self to continue to read… ***halfway through poppy and cas haven’t physically seen each other yet… geez. *** I really don’t think this book needed to be over 1000 pages long. I feel bad about my review because i really loved the first three books.

SJH505

Slow & Repetitive. I love this series, but this book was disappointing. It drags on & on with the same dialogue and situations repeating. I predicted every “twist” so even that was a let down. I had to finish the book because I wanted to see how the series ends- just to be left with no conclusions. To summarize this book: Poppy mad. Ether. Kieran sweet. Casteel horny. Poppy Powerful. War. Gods. The end. It didn’t add much to the series or storyline so sadly I have to give it 1 star.

Larkspark

My least favorite so far.. I love this series and gobbled up the first three books and eagerly waited for the release of this one. It’s still a good read, but comparatively, I found this one to be a bit boring and not nearly as engaging as the first three books. It had a different vibe altogether. I found the build up to be a bit dull and much of the storyline felt poorly constructed somehow. It felt a bit untidy with too many bits and pieces scattered about. I still love the series though and I will of course read the next book and hope for more of what was in the first three books.

Trailingalong

Character Plot Departure. I fell in love with the FBAA series and was grossly disappointed with this latest instalment. The author completely changed the characteristics of the main characters to create new love interests that do not follow the first three books AT ALL. It's a huge letdown to see an author who has spent so much time investing in one plot to then change that plot entirely as well as her character's personalities in a way that doesn't make any sense. Creating sexual tension between Poppy and Kieran while Cas is imprisoned was beyond weird after the author had spent three books establishing that Poppy and Kieran have a sibling-like relationship and that Cas and Kieran are bonded. If you liked the heartmate relationship between Cas and Poppy and the friendship they shared with Kieran, this instalment changes that relationship drastically in a way that does not conform with the first books and was a huge let down to know that the author ruined a really well thought out story.

Allthenicknamesafe

CHARACTER ASSASSINATION. A lot of my favourite characters from the previous books became very one dimensional, made stupid choices and were poorly written. No character development in this story. The pacing was also really bad, it did not need to be 1000+ pages.

MarindaW

Loved the first 3 books but…. This book essentially dragged on for 50 chapters in what could have been told in less than 20. Each “plot” twist was the same repetitive scene/battle/predicament. Also, the 3 full chapters of *spice* was annoying, didn’t add any value to the story. You could save yourself the grief and read the first 10 and the last 10 chapters, yet still have the entire story together. As everything is hinted throughout the book but nothing is revealed until the last 2 chapters.

Lyndsay McDonald

Mind Blown. This book exceeded all of my expectations. It was well worth the wait. I absolutely adore structure of this book. 100% would recommend!!

BambiAndMusic

Did not Disappoint!. Amazing! Can’t wait for the next one! JLA has melded this world so well!

Cambria22

TWOTQ. So disappointed in this book. Can’t believe she ruined Cas and Poppy.

Daerani

War of two queens. Ugh. These books. This is one of those series that you simultaneously never want it to end but also you just want to get to the end of the story and find out what happens to everyone! Love the mystery and adventure of the story and I’m trying to guess all the twists and turns along the way. The only thing that annoys me is the whole thread of doubt that Poppy might end up being bad… like come on. She’s definitely going to end up being good and we all know it. So let’s just stop pretending. If you liked the first three then you’ll like this one. I feel like it’s been so long since I read the first books that I’ll need to go back and reread. It is spicy but not really until the end half of the book. Dual POV, mid-high level spice, 18+

!jetstar!

Couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait for the next book!

Triiiinaaaa

Series went downhill. Was really not a fan of the previous book in this series but thought it was worth persevering as first two books were great. But it just gets too complicated to the point were I was so bored I skipped pages, which I never do usually. Undecided if I will try the prequel.

Lsdbbfjaijwbrbfkxa

Bit stop-start but beautiful!. I personally found it difficult to finish because there was so much info which was necessary. So other than the stop-start - beautiful!

Leisha95

Intoxicating!. Couldn’t stop reading, such an amazing book!! Can’t wait for the next one.

Wendy Landow

Stunning. Enthralled from the first page, absolutely loved it!

Add_14

😬. not my favourite of the series but can’t deny that poppycas goodness 🫡

Kwikky2012

Epic!. Jennifer has entranced me yet again with another book in this series. Possibly my fave book yet, seeing everything in the previous books come together stopped me from being able to put it down. Despite what other readers have said about this book ruining the series I think it was incredible to see events foreshadowed in the previous books finally take place and answer so many questions. I look forward to the next one.

Aleksandraa123

Can we get the next book already!?. Absolutely 10/10. Story line, characters, action - all ADDICTING! Obsessed.

Melly78

Thoroughly entertaining. I’ve been submerged in the world of blood and ash for two weeks now, having read the entire series back to back. I haven’t been so consumed by a book (or several books!), well, ever! I love the fantasy, the characters and the wanton romance. Especially loved the evolving relationship between Poppy, Cas and Kieran, and how that only adds to the bond between the queen and king. Cannot wait til the next instalment is ready!!!

Courts777

Disappointing. I struggled to read this one, however the others I devoured in a day. I just wasn’t feeling the direction this book has been taken in and felt there was less of Poppy and Cas which is why I was reading really and this isn’t my usual book choice. Feeling a little deflated after finishing it

Kegkane

Errrr. Love the FBAA series but so disappointed with this one.

Elss xox

AMAZING. Once again 10/10, Jennifer you have totally outdone yourself😍😍😍

Can’t wait for the next book. Amazing storytelling

Still my absolute favorite series!. War of 2 Queens did not disappoint!!! I love this whole series and Jennifer Armentrout is my absolute favorite author. Poppy and Casteel’s story is full of strength, passion, and love. I literally started the audiobook and read along the night it was released!! If you are a fan of Sarah J Mass and you are ready for a more mature story you will absolutely love this series. I can’t wait for the next book that follows A Shadow in the Ember too!!! Love that story too!!

Machanimah

Loved. I know this installment isn’t like the rest, and that this seemed to be different than the rest of the books which seemed to throw people off but. This is an awesome book. Seeing Poppy as a leader and character blossom and thriving is amazing. The angst of the plot between the antagonist’s goals and the goodness of Poppy and Cas is infectious and I loved every second.

Fgdaddyskittykat

Love but was hoping for a happy ending. I love these books Like love love But my very very small bit of disappointment lies in the ending That it’s just the beginning After all they’ve been through There’s still more Now On to the praise Love the verbiage and vocabulary Intrigue and twists for the series are PAR NONE But one of my fav things is how jam packed it is and how it picks up from book to book exactly where it left off Read the first 3 in 4 days Kid you not And I work a full time job That’s how much I loved them Excited to see where it goes next and (Not even close to a spoiler btw) what becomes of Kieran. Bc I love him and wish him…and the siblings happy endings Even if THEY sucked a litttttle teensy bit. Okay I’m done But so not done with this rollercoaster Ready for another round 😉

Terra reads too much

Amazing!!!. The best FBA book so far! I enjoyed every bit! The storyline is awesome! JLA has truly created a masterpiece. Cant wait for the next book.

Birdie❤️‍🔥

A little underwhelming. I gave 4 instead of 5 because it’s a little underwhelming compared to the other books. It was still good, and I’ll still read the next one, but there was a lot of ‘filler’ items and confusing imagery that made it a little harder to read that her normal work. Other than that, it was really cool getting to see Poppy coming into her own even more, and my baby daddy Reaver got plenty of scene time.

Brijaney216

No clue why there’s so much hate!. This was my favorite read so far this year I love that we got to see more of Kieran’s personality

Kae_Kepp

Very good! Don’t let the haters deter you from this series. - - SMUT SPOILERS ONLY - - Firstly, I appreciate Jennifer L Armentrout very much! All her stories always remind me of how I felt when I was younger and watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Her stories, while sometimes not the most original, are beautiful and easily keep you emotionally invested. Now this book has sparked a lot of very toxic controversy amongst readers. And from what I gather people are either upset that this book has a threesome or upset that the threesome isn’t smutty enough for them…. 🙄 Ok let me address that elephant in the room because I have thoughts on it. I was so grateful for how JLA approached this whole situation between the characters. You have the MC being a 18/19 year old woman who has been so shrouded in religious legalism her entire life to the point of not even being able to be physically touched by other people ever! And when she was ever touched, it was because she was physically and sexually abused. Let us all remember that context. So JLA has been suggesting the potential of the Joining for 2/3 books now and we all knew that the Joining could lead to this threesome. But the two males in this situation spend the past few books affirming Poppy that it is never an expectation for her and that she will never be put in a situation with them where she is uncomfortable and that they would go great lengths to even protect her from any discomfort. JLA builds a healthy relationship between the three characters over these past books and unfolds a story that makes room for this scene to happen in a very healthy way, where Poppy doesn’t feel uncomfortable or triggered in any sense. She gets to have this scene with the two men and it is a very positive and affirming experience for her. I am praising JLA for doing this! To those who wanted more smut… get over it. This scene was plenty smutty and isn’t going against the level of smut from all the other sex scenes in the past books. So idk what everyone’s issue is here. Otherwise, the story is not the most original and she reuses some tropes from her earlier series, but regardless, it is very enjoyable, it has the best banter between the characters, and it is very well told. I love these books so much and was thrilled to find out that the series was continuing! To JLA, I’m sorry for all the hateful and entitled readers out here who are acting out in such a toxic and immature way. Your stories are beautiful, funny, and pure enjoyment! Thank you for all you have put into them!

Wang Chung

AMAZING 😻. Can’t wait to continue this in the next book! Everything I wanted and more!!!

Toni Shima

Too long to wait. I love, love, love this series but it should have ended happily with this book. No one wants to read a book where a main character spends most of it in a cage. 3/4 of this book is sorely lacking romance and personality. Most of the plot was frustrating and unfinished. Hopefully, the author ends this series with the next book before she murders the series altogether.

L.A.Gardner

OMG. Listen it took me about 6 hours to finish. I couldn’t stop. Im so upset that there are more books I have to wait for because it’s sooooo good. The story the characters are just so good. I haven’t read a series that had me hooked like this in soooo long. I can’t wait for the next book. The way she writes is just incredible. 10/10!

Samsamster

Love. Loved it. Made me SOB.

Fatima noor_

The war of two Queens. Very disappointed. Couldn’t recognize my favorite characters. More world building, very predictable plot. Just plain repetitive.

Anniegrrrr

Wow!. What a great story, what a great author. I have enjoyed Jennifer’s writing so very much. I love her characters as well as her way of developing such amazing and beautiful worlds for her characters to live and grow. Thank you for your gift of this series and I will continue to enjoy it over and over.

Echo.Kat

I enjoyed the book but. ***Spoilers (sort of)*** I liked the book overall but it didn’t have the amount of depth and detail that I expected. One scene in particular was lacking. After the amount of detail in similar scenes that she had and all the build up to this scene, I was disappointed. I did like how Poppy’s relationship with other characters grew and I love me some Reaver-butt

Thee book reviewer

flawless. jennifer has done it again folks

❤️‍🔥. Crying puking laughing freaking outttt over this book.. I CANT WAIT FOR MORE.

So disappointed, I want to cry.. Let me be clear, I love these characters and I love the premise of this series. It’s the constant, random one-liners in the character’s conversations that are straight out of a 15 year old’s TikTok. It immediately launches me out of the story. They’re usually right when I get to that wonderful place where you forget you’re reading and the words are just a movie in your mind. It’s gotten worse with every book, especially the two most recent releases. If I wanted any of that, I’d go looking for a YA novel, not something that has been repeatedly advertised as an adult series. Next book, I’ll probably go to a bookstore and skim the first few chapters before deciding if it’s worth buying instead or pre-ordering like I did with this one.

So so good!. Still trying to figure out why so many people are hating on this book 🧐 It is so so good! I read it in a couple of days and it drew me in immediately. I forgot how much I missed this world. I feel like the people that probably don’t like it are the same people that didn’t read ASITE beforehand…which JLA said you should. This book gave us so many answers to questions I’ve had for a while. The banter was BACK and not just between two of my favorite people but some new faces as well. I can’t wait for BOTH of the next books (The Flesh and Fire series and From Blood and Ash series).

She has done it again 👍. Another wonder read. Thanks Jennifer I truly enjoy your books.

Not really grabbing my attention. This book is SO hard to get into. I have loved this series but I’m having to force myself to read this book.

Lost interest. Eh

Can’t wait for the next!. I live for cas and poppy’s relationship! I just can’t wait to continue following them! This is one of my favorite series and I can’t wait for the next one!!!

Becs245

Enthralling!!. This is my kind of spicy fantasy series! More spice than the others, and though the plot felt slow to me at times it kept a good pace overall. Cannot wait for the next one!!

Why…. Is everyone tripping about this book? It has a lot of information to pack in but it helped me understand and be drawn in more. I expected nothing, which is rare as an avid reader and left my jaw on the floor…. Where there was drool because we got what I really hoped we got (kierpoppycas). Intense and exciting and I am really frustrated and confused as to why people are pressed. I would 10/10 recommend every book in this series to readers. The world created by this author is so vivid in my mind. Thank you for this series.

Incredible from start to finish!. A stunning rollercoaster of a ride that kept me on the very edge of my seat from start to finish. Poppy has become one of my favorite female characters. I love how much she’s grown since the first book and the confidence she’s gained in herself and her abilities. I thought the addition of Casteel’s POV was incredible! And, as always, the banter between him, Kieran, and Poppy is everything. It was great to see Kieran and Poppy’s friendship grow, and seeing her get closer to other supporting characters. Speaking of support, Casteel’s endless supply of it for Poppy is as heartwarming as ever. The story itself continues seamlessly from where ACOGB left off and is the perfect mix of suspense, angst, and emotion while continuing to be all sorts of intriguing. I thought this book was amazing and loved every bit of it. *I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Only 214 pages!!!. I love the story! The rich detail keeps the reader focused and engrossed! My only complaint is that it’s only 214 pages! I felt rather cheated.

Chloechayes

Idk why it got so much hate.. loved it

Oldmillenial

😕. Stalling, stalling… it didn’t feel like the other books in the series…

From the one

My favorite!. Loved it so very much

😮‍💨. Not even half way through, skipped through a lot of pages and still seemed to be on the same scene. Super slow and hard to get into, it’s taken me 3 days now to get through a couple hundred pages.

Kam92693

Wow!. This was just a joy to read! A rollercoaster of emotions and intensities. I can’t wait to for the upcoming journey, thank you so much for this beautiful continuation!

Hannah41614

Disappointed. This book could’ve been 2/3 shorter. The joining was disappointing after all the build up, such a frenzy. The ending was rushed compared to how long I had to struggle through the first half of the book. I want to love these books but I had higher hopes she would take previous constructive criticism and make a come back. I was wrong.

_Sol_25

Amazing!!. Such an amazing book! Loved it from start to finish!

Misskyleeshae97

Amazing🖤. Could not put it down as soon as I could download ❤️ I hope this series continues 🖤❤️

Fantasy to Fanfic. Very disappointed. Characters felt off, storyline fell flat.

War of Two Queens. This was my favorite book in the entire series. I adored the relationships between characters in this book. Such a book about love and the willingness to sacrifice and whatever necessary for those you love. Epic battle scenes. Scenes that shock you. Scenes that make you laugh and cry. I just really enjoyed this book. It was one that was highly anticipated, and didn’t disappoint. It is the type of fun and exciting book you can expect from JLA.

Cbasmajian

Not good…. Cannot believe she did that. It’s like I was reading about completely different characters. Really disappointing.

Spayne196

JLA NEVER DISAPPOINTS. So glad to see Poppy continue going as a person and being able to come full circle since the beginning, being able to see her explore her curiosity and dive deeper into her and Casteel’s relationship. Love the Kieran Reaver relationship! This was probably my absolute favorite! This book was so real! Giving you all the emotions and showing how truly evil the blood queen was! Thank you JLA for yet another wonderful journey!
