Pretty good. Good read! Could definitely see this being made into a movie or tv show. Lots of turns and twists but also a little predictable. Overall good book though!

Blah. After recollecting numerous times that she saw her father with a shovel, it turns out it wasn’t him ?? And Daniel came into her life, knowing by his own admission, who she was, for what reason ?? And Tyler pretends to be with a major newspaper and hounds Chloe for an interview …why ?? What for ? And he just gets ‘talked into’ murdering girls by someone else?? What did he need Chloe for ? A lot of the story makes no sense to me. At all. And it’s NOT 368 pages as advertised here, more like 237.

A Flicker in the Dark. I loved that it was not predictable!!! You never knew what was happening next!!!!

Too many errors. I noticed too many errors, I guess from working in healthcare. After all it is a fictional book, but come on! The way the character calls in a prescription, a real doctor does not say “I recommend…” when calling in a prescription to a pharmacy. Then the character jumps from undergrad straight to Ph.D then Masters. It’s undergrad, masters and Ph.D. The author needed to conduct more research. It just a bunch word salad to me, It took me forever to read it because of that. It jumps to one story line and another.

Too obvious. I knew very early who the real killer was. Spoiler Alert: I am a parent, and I would never even consider doing what these parents did. Why on earth would you?

3 stars. Soo, I finally finished this book. However, the start, and literally up until somewhere between pages 230-250, I was just shocked at the similarities between the book “the Woman in the Window” (which was released a few years sooner) and a Flicker in the Dark. However, by the mid 200s - I felt that the book finally veered away from the former title mentioned and into its own, unique plot. I can honestly say that I was not expecting the two twists that happened at the end of the book, and because of that- and because it did finally switch to an original enough plot, though almost too far in the book- in my opinion, and so for that…. This book gets between an even 3 and 3.5 stars. If you HAVENT READ THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW, Then I think you would probably enjoy this book MUCH more than I did.

Wow. I’m not gonna lie it took months for me to finish this book, only because life got so hectic and crazy but after finishing this book I wish I had finished it sooner. Everything about this book is so good! The characters the character development the twists and turns not to mention the The imagery is immaculate, I felt like I can really picture every moment as if I was there. The author does a great job at telling this story and getting you to believe something until you find out it’s not true. I hope everyone gets a chance to Read this book ♥️✨

Predictable. I predicted who it was in I think chapter 3. By chapter 21 it was too repetitive and I found myself bored. Skipped to a random page at the end and confirmed I knew who did it and who was involved. Just gets too slow.

Good, but left me with questions.. I liked this book, it’s helped me get out of a lull in my reading. But I have more questions about Daniel, how did he get the necklace… where did he put the jewelry box.. why did they break up? I understand the lying. Idk, wanted more answers. But sometimes you don’t get them, and honestly it’s okay. A good read.

So twisty!. I really enjoyed this book! I had a hunch of the twist in the beginning, then I changed my mind, changed my mind again, and then once more was like “oohhh” I was right the whole time. It was a very interesting read!!!! A bit wordy at times, but none the less, extremely good.

MORE HOOKS THAN A TACKLEBOX. This story grabbed me from the first page and kept me on the hook until the end! Every time I thought I had figured it out, another road block or possibility arose.

You don’t wanna put it down.. Amazing debut. Very well written and she makes all the emotions so relatable..it’s so hard to put a feeling into words and she excelled at it over and over again. I can not wait for her next book to come out.

Trashy but riveting. I couldn’t put it down, but I wanted to. Well-drawn characters who are distinct from one another. Good selection of suspects. I guessed the real murderer halfway through the book, but then got skillfully led away.

Page Turner!. This book grabbed me by the shirt and pulled me into the mystery and had me working to solve the crimes like I was a character in the book. I couldn’t sleep until I finished the book. It’s that good!

Meh. The red herrings were to obviously red herrings, and that eliminated a lot of suspects. Then there were other glaring errors like, “I’m going to get my Ph.D., then hopefully my masters .” What??? Mistakes like that just makes what’s supposed to be a thriller, comedic. Overall the writing was often redundant, needed better editing, and certainly some fact checking, along with a more plausible plot. The entire Ethan college thing could have been/ should have been, edited out. I’ll take a hard pass on book #2 from this author. I don’t like to waste my time on careless writing.

Incredible!!. I believe I’ve read every popular mystery/thriller of the last ten years, and this is one of, if not, the best. Too good to put down, but at the same time you need a few moments at the end of chapters to process everything going on. I’m very excited for her future work!!
