Emotional in the best way!!. What an incredible read! There was so much emotion in this book that I wasn't sure my heart could hold it all. I felt like this was a different take on a Kristen Ashley book. I say that because it has a lot of what I have come to love about her books, but also there was jut more to it. It felt deeper. The best part is that Judge and Chloe are the kind of couple that I can expect from KA and why I love her books so much. Judge was incredible. I loved his stubborn, flirtatious pursuit of Chloe. He's the kind of man all woman dream about finding. Chloe is that fun, stylish woman the all woman want to be friends with. She also has a heart of gold while still having a bit of viciousness in her that she only aims at people who hurt her loved ones. I really enjoyed her character. Chloe did push away a lot in the start, which for me made the beginning a bit of a struggle. However, that also showed us Judge's persistent pursuit of her that I adored. Thankfully that pushing away didn't last long. Then we just got such a fabulous amount of couple time and seeing how they had each others backs against the world. That is my absolute favorite thing to see in a couple. And lastly, I felt like family was the biggest take from this book. The good and the bad you can find in family, and everything in between. To me, this was the emotional part of this book. Just seeing all the different ways these characters behaved, and how their family life shaped and molded them. Their was so much love and so much pain. It really pulled me into these peoples lives and made me care what was happening. By the time I got to the end, I was in love with all of them. I absolutely can not wait to see what more comes from this series.

Already love this series. Okay let’s start with the FABULOUS cocoroco! How can you not love her? Yes she pushes away the equally FABULOUS and also dashing Judge but it was so great to see his persistence of Chloe. You have to read after the climb to understand Corey Szabo and all he meant to the pierce family. So it was understandable why Chloe struggled with letting herself go to Judge at first. But after she does it’s all vintage KA! The dates, the amazing love scenes, the banter between the couple. I really loved the family dynamic in this book as well. Seeing how close Chloe is to her family and vice versa and seeing how Judge grew up so much differently than Chloe did. I CANNOT WAIT FOR RIX’s story!!!

Politics on the side….. First let me just say that I love KA! She has been my ride or die since Rock Chicks showed up on the free Indie sites way back at the beginning of her writing career. And I’ve purchased all her books once she went to publishing. But Chasing Serenity was not a “get lost in the romance fantasy world” of a true KA contemporary romance world. That’s the thing I love most about her worlds, they’re a place to escape too and sigh at the meet cute or sexy love scenes. This world was full of real world agendas or platforms that interrupted the flow of her actual romantic story line. It made the story disjointed and difficult to maintain a connection with the main characters. I could understand a small backstory intro but after that stick with the fantasy. Chloe and Judge have potential and I hope we get to see more of Chloe’s possible match making schemes along with Judge keeping her out of too much trouble. Unfortunately their story was lack luster and tiresome. I read contemporary romance for the fantasy. Please keep the political banter and agendas out of them. We get enough of that everywhere else. Sorry for the brutal but not sorry because I was sadly dissatisfied.

As Always my favorite author!. Another beautiful story by the talented Kristen Ashley! Great read!

Chasing Serenity. Not as good as After the Climb. Chloe’s a handful. Genny and Bowie’s story’s a lot deeper of course. But it has its place.

Loved it!. This is my first Kristen Ashley book. I know I know! Really not on purpose, but finally, I’ve broken that. I very much enjoyed Judge & Chloe’s story, their differences, their banter, their chemistry. Whew! Again, very much enjoyed this and can’t wait for the next!

The Kristen Ashley I loved is back!!!. Totally worth the time and money. Fully developed characters and relationships before the sex. Interesting secondary characters. All the fashion, interior decorating, and food, plus local color you can want. Loved the little peaks at the Burg and Colorado books. I think Rhys is already my favorite character.

This series is of to an amazing start. I honestly wasn’t sure about this book when I started it because the beginning seemed kinda boring but I should never have doubted Kristen Ashley. By halfway was I crying and couldn’t put the book down! She has so much talent for making the reader fall in love with the characters and their struggles. I can’t wait for the second book in the series. The little sneak peak at the end already has my heart breaking for Alex!
