1984 by George Orwell Book Summary

Among the seminal texts of the 20th century, Nineteen Eighty-Four is a rare work that grows more haunting as its futuristic purgatory becomes more real. Published in 1949, the book offers political satirist George Orwell's nightmarish vision of a totalitarian, bureaucratic world and one poor stiff's attempt to find individuality. The brilliance of the novel is Orwell's prescience of modern life—the ubiquity of television, the distortion of the language—and his ability to construct such a thorough version of hell. Required reading for students since it was published, it ranks among the most terrifying novels ever written.

I was expecting this to be much longet than only 2 chapters. However, I can see why this book is so popular. Very interesting read. Thought provoking.

The idea of what George Orwell thought of the year 1984 when he wrote the book back in the late forties is frightening, but it was exciting a interesting to read. Kevin

Orwell predicted, with great accuracy, the state of many world governments. Current leadership in Canada and the USA are living proof the Uber liberal elites feel Big Brother is the way.

This book is amazing definitely recommend. I like books that make me think about the message or implication of the book even after I’m done reading it and this book does that it also feels extremely relevant to what is happening in many parts of the world today.

Is a good book
