If you like cleaning…. Not much a mystery book, I barely finished it. Maybe written for young adults, too primitive and boring. A lot about cleaning.

Quick read! Loved Molly!. Really enjoy reading this book! finished is less than 2 days I couldn’t put it down!! I loved the mystery and had no idea who it was until the very end! Such good storytelling and the way the Author set the scenes it’s like I’m there. 10/10 would recommend

Great. Great book! The narration drew me in and I found the main character funny yet frustrating at times. The side characters were really great too and I could see this being a great movie. Definitely didn’t see the twist coming either. Would recommend to mystery fans!

The Maid by Nita Prose. Excellent storytelling and you truly develop an understanding of how the FMC views the world around her. A little slow in the beginning, but unique to the fact that the reader will notice things that the main character doesn’t. You almost want to shout out to her what’s she’s missing. Plot twist are crazy!

Couldn’t put it down. Great read, read in a day. I really enjoyed reading from the perspective of Molly, who is socially awkward and seemingly so innocent.

The Maid. WOW! Quite a story about a twenty-five year old woman that appears to be autistic and loves to clean. I can’t imagine! She becomes embroiled in crime without realizing it. I look forward to reading another book by this author.

A Perfect Story. As far as Summer reads go, this is a fantastic book. Its story lulls along at a perfect pace, and my, what a story! The characters are perfect, especially Molly, the main character, who is by far one of the best written characters I’ve seen in a while. The way the story ties back into her Gran with her euphemisms is fantastic and pushes the story forward to an amazing twist at the end. The friendships are key in the story, and the mystery is waiting to be unfolded!

Meh. Was really hoping to get into this book but never really did - writing was very simple (like the main character) who i found a bit annoying — with her literalness of everything. Her naïveté to life around her was hard to believe. But it was an easy read while on vacation which was why i gave it 3 stars.

Are you joking. I finished this in five hours and my jaw is on the floor. There are twists and turns down to the very last page. This is by far the best book I’ve read in a very long time. 10000/10 recommend

So engaging!. I usually take a month to read a book. I read a few chapters before bed. I was so riveted by this book, I read it in 2 days. Molly is a character I will remember.

Huh.. An interesting book with many a twist and turn. Molly was a fascinating character who was far more intelligent than those in her world gave her credit for being. But there’s elements of this story that didn’t sit well with me. That might be why I put it down for so long. I wanted to love this book, but it just wasn’t in the cards for me.

FUN, LIGHT READ. Loved the character development of Molly and her exquisitely charming, socially challenged persona. The author aptly portrays the truth that there is a place for all those who appear to be misfits in life to instead be the ones who may in fact be the more sane of us all.

Engaging. Told from 1st person. While never stated, the maid appears mildly autistic but grows with the story. Through the trauma of finding a guest dead and the help of true friends she grows out of herself. Closes with a twist of two.

Great book. I read the last chapters very slowly because I did not want the book to end. I did not want to say good bye to the characters. This is always the sign of a good book.

Characters with tons of character. From the first person narrative you learn to see the world through a very unique pair of eyes.

Molly’s Truth. I love Molly. Molly’s character was polite and sweet. She always told the truth the way she sees it. I really enjoyed the mystery.

IT TOOK JUST A DAY -. - to read this fabulous, entertaining, and interesting book and to put it away - up on my virtual bookcase for this years books read from cover to cover. This is the first novel that i have read in quite some time - as I usually read TRIUE CRIME, NON FICTION BOOKS on NATURE and ADVENTURE, etc. - that a see reviewed from my favorite authors in the many magazines I read - as well as books on HUMAN NATURE, PSYCHOLOGY, and on REAL and FASCINATING PEOPLE - from many years ago - up until today. I HIGHLY recommend this quick - can’t put down until you get to the end read - to anyone who has the time to truly enjoy it - as I have done - reclining in my bed - on a cold, windy, and rainy winter’s day - or at anytime at all. A 10 STAR read in my expert opinion - but as the raring stars only go up to FIVE - that is what it got from me. EFHJR.

Thoroughly Enjoyed. Very hard for one to not only enjoy but root for Molly, the Maid. I enjoyed how this book all came together in its conclusion. The protagonist was likable and the plot was not long and drawn out. I was fortunate enough to finish this book in just a couple of days but this mystery novel gripped me the minute i finished the first chapter.

Disappointing read. I was super excited to read the book but to my surprise the book was not good at all. It had a very slow pace for the first half and only started to get interesting towards the end. Molly maid was supposed to be a normal awkward quirky maid in this hotel and the first half of the book (which was really slow ) made it seem she was also very oblivious to her surroundings. Which is exactly why the ending did not make sense at all because they were too many holes in the book. The details were put in the wrong places.

Very disappointing. The pace is very slow with so many unnecessary details which take up half the book which is 200 pages. Molly was so annoying and she brought up her grandma on every which got repetitive. The ending made little to no sense when you line it to Mollys action from the beginning. Basically nothing happens except from 10 pages out of 400. The killer reveal was cool but at then end anticlimactic. Honestly it’s just a waste of time

Its Ok. The book is ok, i did enjoy it. However it had a slow start. The ending is a shock but also a disappointment. They build a character and then turned it into a twisted person. Read it

Excellent. I will read this again one day because it is one of these books that you will find something new every time. It rates up there with “Where The Crawdad Sings” in my top five. The characters are well written, and the little surprises that pop up every once in a while pertaining to them are unexpected and “delightful”.

couldn’t put it down!. This book unfolded in a way that I did not expect it to. The scene was set beautifully, and I found myself feeling bad for the main character. I, in fact, also found myself underestimating her like the rest of the characters. Like every good mystery, there was a twist at the end and everything turned out alright. Great story!

A look into a surprising kaleidoscope. I was sort of put off when I began reading. The style and VOICE of the character was a bit to digest. I found it plodding until the plot revealed the nefarious undercurrent. I read the whole thing and am happy I saw it through.

She immediately becomes the number 1 suspect in Mr. Black's murder, though she maintains her innocence and naivety to the situation. Molly finds friendship in the most unlikely of situations and surprises you with her ability to avenge others' wrongdoings while sticking to her and Gran's moral code. REVIEW: 3 stars! This was overall a heartwarming journey, but it did take quite a while for me to get into it. The story picks up about halfway through, but even still I ultimately wasn't very attached to any of the characters or motivated to keep reading. I did finish it though, and there's a plot twist at the end. This book reads like a Wes Anderson film, of whom I'm not a fan.

AWESOME!. The Maid, Molly Gray, is a memorable character. An awesome page turner and great ending!! Loved it.

The Maid. This book might have been marketed as a Young Adult choice. It has some charm, but is otherwise predictable, and not particularly clever. I think the author means to suggest that the main character is on the spectrum, and bright but oblivious to social clues. The author doesn’t stay consistent to that theme though, allowing the main character to be both mailable and keen enough to maneuver the ending.

Disappointing ending. I loved this book and couldn’t put it down. Until the last 50 pages or so. I was so disappointed in the ending, especially with what happened with Gran. If the Gran chapter were in the beginning of the book, it at least would have added to the suspense factor. It just seemed to not really make sense or add to the story at that point. In the end a really great, sweet, likeable character was disappointing and it didn’t have to end that way. Oh well! Still an enjoyable read.

Cozy whodunnit mystery. The beginning started off very interesting and held my attention but then it began to get very slow and boring. The main character, Molly, is sweet and a hard worker but she was quiet annoying at times. Molly was raised by her grandmother. She adored her gran so much and held onto every word she said. Mollly repeats her gran's cheesy, cliché sayings so often that it became very annoying. I do appreciate having a main character who is on the spectrum however I feel like the character was often inconsistent with her actions and choices and slightly unreliable, especially in the end. She is completely relatable when it comes to how awkward she is but it just wasn't consistent and at times was a bit too much. The ending had some heartwarming moments a huge plot twist that really caught my attention as I wasn't expecting it. The ending held a faster pace than most of the book which was almost disappointing because I wanted more detail. I feel like details were given in the wrong areas. The ending was when I really realized that Molly was an unreliable character and it felt like things were just thrown together at the end.

Loved the main character!. This is the first book I’ve truly loved in quite a while. Beautifully written and moved quickly. I read it all in less than 24 hours. Highly recommend.

Unexpected Gem. What I Enjoyed What an unexpected gem of a domestic thriller. The story has teeth, it explores morally gray areas with both shock and clarity, and it touched my heart in the most profound and unexpected ways. Part of the strength of this novel is for the reader to go in blind and discover for themselves all it has to offer, so I’m going to tread lightly so as not to ruin it for you. You must read The Maid and experience it as I did. First, there are many twists and turns up until the very end. I’m just DIZZY from spinning round and round. Just when you think you have the story all figured out, woosh, the rug is pulled from right under your feet and your left trying to make sense of what just happened. I like nothing better than shocking twists that leave me breathless, and this story has plenty. So, just wait for it and don’t assume (because Molly, the main character, will explain to you all about what happens when you assume). I also love the themes the story explores, as they add meat and meaning to the story. Themes like the invisibility of the working class and the marginalization of people with a noticeable disorder that impacts how they process information and/or relate to other people. These are all handled with sincerity and empathy and left no doubt to the injustices that are done regularly. The characters are all so finely developed that it feels like you can turn around in your seat, and they will be right there ready to have a conversation with you – all of them through the most minor of support characters. And it’s through just little things, this is achieved – like the mention of one minor character – another maid – who would wipe the bathroom down with the same rag she used to clean the toilet on purpose. (I know I just heard a collective “eewww.”) Characters Molly Gray is the main character. She loves being a maid and knows that Molly the Maid sounds just too made up. Molly loves it so much that I wanted to be a maid for a minute even though I have severe dust mite allergies. She is delightful and sincere and loves what she’s doing and where she is doing it. If you don’t just fall in love with her as I did, I will be surprised. Reminds Me Of I can’t think of anything else out there like this story. It has all the thrills, chills, and surprises as any good domestic thriller, but it also has a story that will touch your heart and lift you up in the most profound ways. What I Wish I wish some readers wouldn’t make the mistake of calling this a cozy mystery, for it is definitely not. It is a domestic thriller through and through. I also wish that the popular Netflix show Maid had not come out so recently or been so popular because the two can easily get confused and are absolutely nothing alike. Each deserves to stand on their own. To Read or Not to Read This is one of my favorite books this year. I highly recommend it to all readers whether or not thrillers are a genre you usually pick up, as this has so much more to offer than the wonderfully shocking thrills.

The maid want what I thought it was.. A page turner with lots of twists and turns. The author does a terrific job!

Goodness. An engaging, suspenseful portrait of otherness unlike anything I’ve ever read. The willing reader enters the day-to-day life of a fully drawn character from another world (mine at least) in her daily work, her relationships with others, her intimate and spiritual life, her struggle to understand the motivations of others. Sound like a goody-goody social justice treatise? Well, there’s a thriller-type mystery at the heart of the story with ethical quandaries and serious threats of danger. The Maid is wonderful.

So good I couldn’t put it down.. Refreshingly unusual lead character, wonderful writing. Too good to stop until finished.
