Just what I was looking for. While stuck in bed sick with Covid I was desperately looking for a good book and this did not disappoint. I read it in one afternoon. On the edge of my seat the entire time.

Quick, twisty and engaging read!. Loved it!

Good read. I dislike novels where the story bounces back-and-forth between periods of time unless absolutely necessary. However, for certain novels it’s necessary to make the story interesting and compelling. This is one such novel. The overall story arc was very good, however, without revealing any spoilers, the length of time, 22 years, for someone to be held against their will just seem to be too unrealistic and I don’t Feel the story demanded that length of time for any reason. A shorter period would’ve been much more realistic. My only other criticism is the antagonist of the story, when revealed, doesn’t make much sense and the character, which had not been developed, was not believable. Nevertheless , it was an interesting read, a solid 3 1/2 stars and the storylines interwove quite well through to the end.

Great winter thriller!!. 4.5 Stars!!!! The style of story telling is compelling and when it all comes together, it’s a beautiful story with a satisfying ending. It was a bit confusing at parts trying to piece some small details together, but overall very well done. This is a great read for the wintertime if your a thriller lover!

WOW!!. One of the best books I’ve read in a while!!

Nail Biter!. Super exciting. Fun to guess the identity of the unnamed characters. I figured them out but it was a slowly building realization.

The Overnight Guest. This book is not my normal cup of tea, but midway thru, I could not put it down. Not sure if I am brave enough to read another, but she is a great storyteller.

The Overnight Guest. This thrilling book was the first book in quite some time that I could not put down. There was always something exciting happening that I wanted to read more about. Heather strategically placed ideas and circumstances that kept changing my opinion of the characters. I loved this book!

Alright. Nothing special about this book. It was an alright read, maybe something for people getting into thrillers?

Intense!. It was very intense and riveting. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and I feel as if it’s motivated me to be a man that loves and cherishes and protects his family as opposed to taking advantage of others. A powerful lesson of selflessness and redemption, this book is. My only critique is that I wish she would have not used profanity or at least not as much, but the story itself was stellar.

One of her best. Gudenkauf has an innate gift for creating gripping characters that are as layered as onion skins. She use a sense of place to create atmosphere and tension
