The Great Catsby by B.K. Baxter
The Great Catsby by B.K. Baxter Book Summary
Watch what you wish for… Some inheritances are literally death.
My life has been turned upside down by my inheritance, but my only complaint is the cat that came along with the new house.
I swear he's judging me as I settle in and try to make new friends in my new small-town Louisiana neighborhood.
And just when I start to settle into my new job and get back to reading my classic novels, I'm pulled chapters deep into a mystery.
The Beauty Queen in the town has been offed. Someone has killed the darling.
Wouldn't you know it? An innocent man has been framed.
I shouldn't get involved, but somehow, my cat seems to have a way with finding clues in some of my favorite stories. Not that any of that makes sense.
Why would it?
The cat is the sleuth, I'm the amateur, and we have alligators in the backyard.
Throw in a dead body, a book club that's filled with suspicious characters, and you have my new life.
And I thought being a librarian in Louisiana was going to be dull.

This was a fun who-done-it story !. Enjoyed reading this from beginning to end. Chonks (the cat) was a hoot !
Light Read. This was quite fun to read! I would say if you’re looking for a quick, light, mystery piece to pass the time, this book is for you!
Such an amazing mystery, and I don’t generally read that jaunts. I loved this book! The fact that parts of it were told from the cats point of view tickled me. I literally couldn’t put the book down. I loved it and can’t wait to read the next one!
Just read it. Read this book in one day! Seriously addictive, the perfect mix of serious and funny.
Really fun. Choose for a school essay. Lots of fun.
Catsby. Loved it. The fact that it was written from the perspective of a cat made it even better.
Amazing book!. This book really kept me on my toes! It was amazing to see that even Chonks the cat played a role in this, and a big one too 🤣. I’m so glad that Chonks saved Jade’s life!
The great catsby. Super fun mystery and an easy read! Storyline flowed nicely and had some twists and turns
Only good when the cat is narrator. Incredibly boring story with a main character who comes off self absorbed and looks at everything and everybody around her as a stereotype.
Pleasantly surprised. I finished this book in 2 days. It was a fun read. Simple and perfect for a cozy mystery book.
5/5. Give it a try if you like murder mysteries!
Awesome!. I love the different point of views! Sheer genius 🐱
Good read. Really good read I enjoyed every minute of it and the Chonks has some of the best parts. Kinda cheesy but in a cute way, it’s lighthearted enough to be enjoyable but still a murder mystery that had me wondering who is was the whole time!
The great catsby. Fun. Not hokey like some other cat books. Really enjoyed reading this book.
The Great Catsby. This was such a fun read. A little humor, a little mystery, and a great cat named Chonk. I’ll be readin the next book in the series.
Good book. Although the reason for the murder was dumb the book was still good. She wasn’t a very strong person but she got the job done.
LOVED IT. oh my god! i literally finished this book so quickly i loved it so much! the way the writer tells the story is amazing. its def not a children’s book.
The Great Catsby. Great book from start to finish. Keeps you glued to the page with bated breath.
Easy read, good murder mystery, and love Chonks!. Interesting characters and love the perspective of Chonks, the cat. The murderers motive was a little iffy, but I won’t nit pick about that. My only issue is that the doctor took the heroine’s blood pressure putting a stethoscope on her wrist. After 50 years as a nurse, I can tell you that’s not how you take a blood pressure!
Fun, cute, captivating. I really enjoyed this book, it’s probably the first novel i’ve read in years. It was definitely an easy read and as i mentioned a fun story. I was definitely hooked in and just as curious as the main character in solving the mystery. I will say I do wish that there were a bit more suspense elements potentially but I still really enjoyed the storytelling
The Great Gatsby. I love the book, people just like people we know or heard about. I could not figure out who it was till the end. It wasn’t filled with cuss words or nudity. It was a good book to relax with and laugh a little.
The great catsby. This book is amazing and the author is truly blessed with words. Just the opposite of my usual reading. Can’t wait for the next episode. Ole grandma
Look forward to reading more. Some of the red herrings were obvious, but the main character was predictably inexperienced in solving mysteries & so some of her behaviors could make sense. It will be interesting to see how the author develops the characters from here.
