Remove politically motivated reviews.. HAVEN’T read the book yet, but i suspect neither have some of the reviewers, who are attacking the author for her political stand, rather than for the book’s merits (or lack thereof). iBooks should do better.

Supreme Court thriller. Much like Grisham’s Pelican Brief, the reader is taken on a wild ride complete with bio genetics, the corrupting effects of power, and the tests of loyalty and justice. A very good read.

While Justice Sleeps. Stacey Abrams once again shows us how talented she is, but this time as a legal thriller author. This book introduces us to the remarkable Avery Keene, a law clerk at the U.S. Supreme Court for Justice Howard Wynn. Abrams does a marvelous job engulfing Keene with intrigue, espionage, assassinations, and family trauma. She also does a fantastic job writing an enticing cast of characters to round out Keene's storyline. Abrams ability to use her legal and political expertise is reminiscent of author Richard North Patterson and John Grisham. Abrams continues to demonstrate her gifts in many areas.

While justice sleeps. I loved it . Don’t take this as an insult but as a little girl who devoured Nancy Drew books I can say this is absolutely the best adult Nancy Drew book ever!! The heroine vanquishes evil with her smarts and daring !!! Best ever !

Perfect. Not an easy page turner since I was holding my breath and was worried about what was on the next page. Didn’t want to turn the page. But I did. Damn… I really got caught up in the story. Brava. It’s a GREAT book.

Simply the Best Thriller on the Market!. I have literally read hundreds of thriller novels over my lifetime and only a few have come close to the brilliance Ms. Abrams displays in the intricately woven plot she unfolds in “When Justice Sleeps”. I remained spellbound throughout the entire novel, only to experience a sense of loss, similar to losing a good friend when no more words were left on the pages from which to read. Most authors muck up the ending by wrapping it up too quickly. After sticking with a book for 500 pages, we readers want the climax of the story and its conclusion to be satisfying: to last a good while that equally matches the lead-up time in order to savor the ending. Ms. Abrams doesn’t let you down, taking her time by winding it down, slowly bringing the story to a close as the reader is given time to absorb and process all the threads as they cogently and completely come together. This book, in my humble estimation, will exceed every expectation and rival the works of Dan Brown, Brad Meltzer, John Grisham, and Scott Turow. As I write this review, I can’t help my mystification over the 29 reviews before me which eked a 2.5 star overall rating. Certainly these folks can’t possibly have taken the time to read it prior to their review, or possibly they couldn’t understand some of the big words she so eloquently weaves into the prose. Hopefully my rating of 5 Stars will offset this mystifying conundrum. To those of us who enjoy thrillers, intrigue, twists and turns with a smattering of romance sprinkled in for entertainment, I highly recommend this book. When Justice Sleeps. Overall I really loved the book. It kept my interested & I found myself reading as often as I could get it in. I found some of the legal terminology unknown to me & had to constantly look up a lot of the words. Afterwards I was still a bit confused as to the what & why’s of the situations they were used in. While I liked the ending, I was hoping to know if the judge ever woke up, was he able to reunite with his son, did Avery get with the son and I was hoping Avery was finally able to speak to the judge even if it were briefly. Lastly I really wanted to know whatever happened to Vance’s character. Where did he go.? Why did he drug Avery? Hopefully Vance will appear in future books as I see Stacy already has a part 2 that I can’t wait to read. Overall this was a page turner. I hope the other book is longer

To all the bibliophiles. After reading some of the earlier reviews, I am convinced those that derided this book have not read it. While this is a work of fiction, Ms. Abrams' knowledgeable offering meets the demands of all bibliophiles - to be educated and entertained. This book does both. Thank you for such a compelling read and please, give us more. Brava.

While Justice sleeps. I really looked forward to an exception read because I like and support Ms.Abrams and everything for which she stands. Unfortunately, her story didn’t ring true to me and feel so far short of my expectations that I won’t invest in another of her novels. The story was truly unrealistic, the heroine, supernatural and the plot too contrived. Ms. Abrams is entirely cerebral and this mindset bled into the storyline and unfortunately, hemorrhaged.

Hands down one of the best political conspiracy thrillers ever written.. Stacey Abrams writes a fast paced, thrilling novel in “While Justice Sleeps” that demands your attention and is addictively difficult to put down once you start. Never lulling or plodding along, the plot moves at breakneck speed with actual twists and turns that leave you gasping at their revelations. The resolution and end were meaningful and well done, leaving you with many “what ifs” when you compare the fiction in this novel to real life. Stacey Abrams is now THE gold standard for political thrillers and puts everyone else to shame. We can only hope that Avery and friends come back soon with another intriguing tale of political conspiracy at the highest levels of our government.

On the Edge of My Imagination. While Justice Sleeps is a real action, mystery mind read. I love the play on words for the title. It is full of drama and suspense. I’m looking forward to the movie or series and the next chapters as Justice Wynn regains consciousness and Avery and Jared’s romance begins. Thank you Stacey Abrams for this delightful read. 🙏🏽🙌🏽📖

Enjoyable, even though a bit contrived. The storyline is well thought out and masterfully articulated. Stacy Abram’s talents are reflected in this work. I’ve enjoyed reading this story. The middle was a bit slow and lacked realism; but that’s fiction. Looking forward to the next one!

Limited Realism. The main character is developed within a good story line, but then goes overboard with too many plots and side stories that limits the realism of the main story line.

While Justice Sleeps. Wow, what an intriguing story. I loved that you were never sure how it would turn out. Totally surprised with the ending.

Thrilling! A must read for anyone who likes a great mystery. I loved this book so much! I’m an avid reader and this is the best book I’ve read in some time. The depth of plot, characters, & subject matter are all amazing. It kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning on the edge of my seat! Ms. Abrams is an incredible writer and her love for the justice system comes through. I look forward to reading more of her books. Please make this a series!
