coffeegoddesstmk - Romantic comedy with plenty of heart
Okay, a lactose intolerant girl inherits half a dairy farm...it's only going to get better after such a great beginning. Per usual, Staci Hart writes with plenty of soul, infusing BET THE FARM with wit, whimsy, and all of the feels, and I just loved it.
Staci has plenty of tropes going with BET THE FARM...small town romance, opposites attract, resisting the attraction, city girl versus country boy, and they all meld together perfectly in this romantic comedy that had me from the very beginning. Even though Jake and Livi were fighting the very obvious pull between them, I couldn't wait for them to get it together and, well, get together.
BET THE FARM couldn't have come at a better time. This is the kind of book that just hits all of the marks, and is a pure pleasure to read. Book slump? Read this book. Need a book to lift you out of the winter doldrums? Read this book. Just love a good rom-com that will deliver all of the 'com,' but with plenty of emotion? Read this book. And when you do read it? Enjoy. ❤️
Hmitch76 - Super Cute Small Town Romance
Bet the Farm was a super cute, funny and emotional enemies to lovers story. I devoured this book as quickly as I could because I was always wanting to see what was going to happen next. Olivia Brent has been living in New York, but comes back to her family’s farm in a small California town when her grandfather passes away. He leaves her half of the farm. The other half is left to the broody farmhand, Jake. Olivia and Jake have different ideas on how the farm needs to be ran to make it more profitable. I enjoyed watching them butt heads and their witty banter. I laughed a lot while reading their story. This book was really well written and I think everyone will enjoy it.
itsgoindown_06 - A Hilarious Escape
After the past few months of seemingly constant negativity and heartache, Bet the Farm was a hilarious escape from the doom and gloom world we have been living in. Like a candle in the dark, this sweet romcom is coming at the exact time we needed it. 5 bright stars for Staci!

What's not to love about this book? Reading about Olivia's attempts
to become a farm girl were hilarious and totally worthy of a Hallmark movie.
Jake was frustrating in his attempts to keep things on the farm the way they've always been. He was moody, mean, and contradictory in his feelings towards Olivia. The two butted heads more than they needed to in the beginning, but when a bet comes out that she will leave at the end of the summer if she can't pull the farm around, the story picks up and gets so
much better. It's a fun, sweet, and emotional story with just a hint of angst.
LisanneH - City girl vs country boy
City girl vs country boy.
Olivia inherits half a dairy farm.
Jake inherited the other half.
He makes her a bet.
What could go wrong?
Fun, flirty, just what I needed to read.
Just say yes.
nycam327 - Farming their future
Rating closer to 3.5
This book is full of emotion and humor. Staci Hart really makes you feel what the characters are going through at times. My reduction in the rating is mostly for the feelings brought up when they talked or thought about Pop.
Olivia moved away from the farm at a young age to stay with her aunt in the city. Even though she has enjoyed her life there, as soon as she learns about her grandfather she moves back to try and make his family farm more successful.
Jake has become a grumpy old man set in his ways. The farm has been his whole life since Pop first made him apart of his life and family. He wants to make the farm a success but isn’t willing to take chances to get there.
Of course they butt heads on their journey, must learn to work together to obtain their goal as well as deal with lingering feelings from years prior.
Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
easwain - Emotional and Heart-wrenching! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Emotional and Heart-wrenching! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
So if Staci Hart set out to keep me emotional the entire story... she totally won. Olivia and Jake have to work together to turn the farm around. Each of them have their eyes set in how to do this, but they both have trouble seeing each other’s path to get to that goal. It causes a lot of head and heartaches. I enjoyed everything about this book and would love to see more farm stories from Staci Hart!
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Farm-girl Stars!
Virna Thompson - Fun and charming!
Bet the Farm by Staci Hart was such a fun and charming read. Olivia has inherited half of the family farm. The farm is struggling and she needs to turn it around to save it, however, the other half went to Jake. Olivia is happy and carefree to the broody and grumpy Jake. Jakes does not believe Olivia has what it takes, but she is determined to prove him wrong. They shared such great chemistry and just loved watching them interact. A small town romance that was light and sweet. A truly fun rom com with great characters and a captivating story.
sammyreads - Absolutely Adorable
Bet the Farm is everything and more I expect from Staci Hart . It’s absolutely adorable , fun and emotionally satisfying. From the mesmerizing writing to relatable characters this book was everything. I loved Olivia and Jake . Olivia moves back after her grandfather’s death to take care of the farm . She finds out her grandfather left the farm to both Jake and Olivia. Jake was the perfect grumpy hero . He was not expecting Olivia to stick around. It was such a fun read . I loved everything about this story. Don’t miss this fun and captivating story.
BagginOut - You’ll be dreaming of your own farm by chapter 3
I love farm books. Maybe it’s my own upbringing and current lifestyle that makes these types fun to read, that there can be romance in a conventional setting that makes it so perfect.
These characters are EVERYTHING. I love Livi’s optimism, her spirit and joy for life was infection and wonderful to watch. Jake was the perfect grouchy farm turned soft with love and I swooned for him so hard.
Staci Hart has a gift and it’s one that—thank goodness— keeps on giving.
meggle50 - Loved this book
I laughed, I cried and I fully enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Olivia is heading home after the passing of her grandfather. She is hoping to be able to take over the farm and make it profitable again. Jake has lived on the farm for years and was like a son the Olivia’s grandfather. He is pretty closed off and doesn’t trust easily. He is mad at Olivia for not coming home sooner for her grandfather as he loved him like his own. The two definitely but heads a lot. They slowly start to build a relationship and work together. Of course you can’t have a good love story without some drama as well. These two have a lot to face and things that the need to say to each other in order to get their happy ending. I really liked this read a lot and look forward to more from this author.
edithleal - Could not put it down.
Bet the Farm by Staci Hart
First of all I love love books with both points of view and I love Staci Hart books. With that said
I absolutely loved Bet The Farm.
This is a story about Livi and Jake 😍.
It’s a story of two enemies who eventually become so much more. It is full of light hearted banter and comical situations that will have you laughing yet it has all of the heart break and situations that will make you cry. I swear this author knows how to pack a punch and captivate you. Jake is just so handsomely brooding and oh so guarded due to his past. He has had to work extra hard in his life to be where he is and he isn’t about to let some city girl take what he loves and has worked to the bone to keep it from failing. He thinks Olivia is going to get there and then give up on the first signs of it being hard. Olivia had returned from from her city to her child hood home to find that the farm had not been left fully to her but to Jake as well. She also finds out that the farm she loves is in financial trouble and that she is going to have to work alongside Jake the grumpy farm hand.
I loved the chemistry and comical banter between the both while trying to get accustomed to each other and do what’s right for the farm.
I loved this book so much it had me enthralled from beginning to the very end.
mpatane5 - Absolutely fantastic!
What a fantastic read! My favorite Staci Hart read to date. It had the right balance of funny and quirky moments as well as emotional ones. Olivia and Jake have chemistry in spades and in this enemies to lovers storyline, there’s a fine line between love and hate. This one is absolutely worth reading!
Writer11123456 - It will make you smile!
I am always anticipating a new read from Staci Hart and this one was just what i needed as a February pick me up. As a city girl who lives not far from the country, it was easy to put myself in the book and enjoy it! The banter was excellent, and Staci’s writing is amazing. This is another 5 star from Staci Hart and anyone would enjoy this romantic read.

namenotsignified - 6 Out of 5 Baby Cows
This was my first book by Staci Hart and I am not disappointed. With the constant teasers and scenarios on Bet the Farm, I was so glad when I actually got to read it. I was screaming with excitement and giddy with anticipation of how this book would play out.
There was so much tension, angst, and frustration between the characters; Staci Hart managed to write these little details so well I could actually feel each emotion with every turn of the page.
The book was actually really good and well written. I would feel myself getting angry at one character, but upon reading their POV, I would switch and get angry at the other character. I was literally going back in forth with these emotions, I’m surprised I didn’t get whiplash.
I’ve fallen in love with Olivia and Jake so much, I don’t want their story to end.
Please, please, please; if you’re doing something right now, drop what you’re doing and pick up this book. You won’t regret it.
5 out of 6 stars for this “ranchy” story.
Love2Read2020 - Coming home
4.5*’s What a fun play on grumpy cute country boy vs sweet petite pink loving city girl! There were so many smirk worthy moments (and very fun phrases) as Olivia gets back in touch with her farm girl side. With different perspectives on dealing with the farm debt, Jake and Olivia clashed more often than not. When they finally “connected”, some of their conversations made me laugh out loud. I think my absolute favourite was provocative banter using innocent farming/machinery terms and phrases. 😆 Threats from both past and present led the characters and me through a rollercoaster of emotions and suspicions. I must say, I actually shed a few tears when things resolved finally in the end. Doing what is best for those you love and not yourself was a very heart warming message of selflessness. A very satisfying read with a great HEA.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.
