Such a fun and delightful read!. 4.5-stars! Didn’t Expect You by Claudia Burgoa was such a fun and touching story with very light angst and I loved it. Nathaniel and Nyx’s story was a slow burn romance as they get to know each other and stand by each other. They go from being friends to more as their chemistry sizzles. Nyx is organized, determined and practical. Finding out she was pregnant threw her for a loop. Nate is not a relationship type of guy, then Nyx enters his life. He is strong, caring and unwavering. I loved their story so much. It was a delightful and captivating read! Happy reading!

abulously Captivating & Heartfelt! Great Story & Listen🎧. Nyx, an attorney who is looking to make partner, except her number one supporter in the firm left and it has been an uphill battle to stay afloat. Her being sick and turning off clients did not help matters either, and it did not take long for her boss to give her the boot. Luckily, her old boss has her back and will help her with an unlawful termination case. Nate, the social one of the two Chadwick brothers, Ford, is the brains behind the development and Nate is the deal maker. He likes to live life to the fullest but is a cynic for love and relationship and is a complete player with the ladies, a “love them and leave them” type of guy. Nate is drawn to Nyx, there is something about her that makes him want to get to know her better, but Nyx knows he is not relationship material and she does not want to complicate things for her sister and his brother, who already warned Nate to stay away from her. But when Nate finds out she is pregnant, he wants to be there for her and becomes her fiercest protector.I loved the layers and complexity to these characters, also loved how everything played out, watching Nate not only fall for Nyx, but show his caring side and then deal with his past and inner demons to help him grow as a person, knock down that wall he built around his heart. Nyx also grew as a person too, coming to grips with her nurturing behavior for her siblings. This wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, witty dialogue and humor, heartfelt emotions and a slow, but oh so sweet, romance. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another fabulously entertaining story and emotional rollercoaster ride. 🎧📚🎧 I listened to the audiobook edition and Claudia Burgoa had the perfect cast to bring her characters and story to life, a multi-cast and a fabulous lineup of talented narrators and versatile voice artists. Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose covered the roles of the two lead characters, with Brooke Bloomingdale and Jason Clarke returning as Persy and Chad, and Liam Sanderson and Connor Brown joins Teddy Hamilton covering the roles for secondary/support characters. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on, giving each a voice that fits their character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I picture the characters to sound. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhanced this wonderful story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Deserves more than 5 Stars. 5 + Stars ⭐️ Didn’t Expect You is heartfelt and captivating story. It was sweet , slow burn with fantastic characters which were both relatable and complexed. I loved both Nate and Nyx. Both of them are responsible and always there for their family. Even though there is a spark and attraction between these two they don’t act of it due to circumstances. It was a beautiful slow burn romance. The journey these two characters took and how their characters defines from the beginning to the end of story was so well written. Nate is a perfect book boyfriend. He was caring and so protective and I loved how patient he was not acting on his attraction to Nyx. The story also loosely connects with Aldridge Brothers. I was excited to see Pierce in this story. Claudia is a very talented writer she can weave magical stories and characters, you can’t help but fall in love with them. This story hooked me from the moment I started and I devoured this story. It was unputdownable, I read it in one sitting. Loved this story and would highly recommend this book.

Loved it.. I absolutely love it, to the characters, storyline, storytelling. I’ma sucker for a romantic novel, and I was definitely sucked in. If I didn’t have responsibilities, I’ll have definitely finished it one sitting!

So good. I love it more than I did Persy and Ford’s story. This has now become my favorite of the series. I wish there was a second epilogue several years down the road to see where they are at. Maybe we’ll get one with Eros story.

Great book!. Absolutely fell in love with Nate and Nyx. Man meets woman that is turning his life upside down type of book. Their characters completely changed from beginning to end of book and I am absolutely thrilled I was there for the ride. We met these characters in book 1. You don’t have to read book 1 to get fully invested in this one but it won’t hurt. Can’t wait to read more another the other characters in this story.

I really wanted to love it…. After reading the first book I the series, I was very much looking forward to this story. Unfortunately it just didn’t ring for me. A lot of the book just doesn’t line up and the early pregnancy mentions feel superficial and not realistic timing-wise.

5 Refreshing Stars. Didn’t Expect You was such a refreshingly different story. Nate Chadwick is the very wealthy twin brother of Ford. Nyx Brassard is the career driven sister of Persy. We meet all of the charters in the first Against All Odds Book, Wrong Text, Right Love. Nyx is an attorney who has her life planned out. That is until she has an unexpected surprise that throws her for a loop. Nate is insanely attracted to Nyx but because of her circumstances chooses to be a really good friend to her. I really enjoyed this story. It wasn’t your typical love story, but I loved it anyway. Nate and Nyx truly became the best of friends before acting on their attraction. I felt they handled things very maturely. I enjoyed they good natured ribbing they gave one another and I really enjoyed their families. I think everyone will really enjoy this friends to lovers story.

Sweet and Beautiful!. Didn’t Expect You is fun, sweet and charming in the all best ways possible!! I loved Nyx and Nate in Wrong Text Right Love with their flirty banter and I couldn’t wait to read their story. Given Nyx’s sassy and headstrong personality, Nate’s playboy ways and closed off heart and with a surprise pregnancy thrown in, I just knew this book was going to keep me entertained. Claudia Burgoa got creative with the storyline and didn’t disappoint in the least bit. Their dynamic and irresistible attraction is perfect and created a genuine and heartwarming romance. This book is exactly what I needed to laugh, relax and have a good time reading. Didn’t Expect You will definitely make your heart smile, especially the epilogue. I’m eagerly waiting to read the next book in this series!!

So so good!!. When I met the Brassard family in Wrong Text, Right Love, I knew I needed more. They are so crazy that they make the perfect fun escape in a wild world. I mean archeologist parents who name all their kids after Greek mythology and are all free love, hippy types? Yes, please. I thought I knew how Nyx and Nate's story was going to go. I was wrong in all the best ways. These two are complete opposites but exactly what the other needed. Nyx was the grounding that Nate needed; and Nate is the flight that Nyx needed. I almost couldn't handle how perfect they are. The Brassards are the best and I'm going to count the days until I can read all about Eros. Here's to hoping he can live up to that name!!

Love this series. I was so intrigued with the Chadwick Brothers when I first read about them.  And now we get Nate's story.  We get the fantastically slow burn of Nyx and Nate. I was absolutely swooning over Nathaniel! They way that he cared for Nyx when she didn't even realize she needed caring for.  The way that he didn't smother, but was able to embrace her quirks and her whole self. I also was so happy to see how both Nyx and Nate were able to keep their relationship as it should have been, they both had issues and scars to resolve and heal from, but they way they were able to do it platonically and honestly was beautiful to read.  The slow burn of their relationship was emotional and fabulous!  The secondary characters were amazing and brought even more to this story, they brought humor and heart and above all else a sense of family and belonging!  Get your hands on this wonderful story! I love the worlds that Ms. Burgoa has created and I cannot wait to see what's next!

LOVED. I loved the first book and thought it was toning to be hard to beat.... well I can say, I love the second book even more! It was amazing. Even cried while reading it.

Slightly Confusing. The story is okay. But, it makes references to things that happened in other books, both in this series and other series from the author. Having never read any of these books, parts of the story were confusing; the author does not do a good job of explaining the backstory of several characters, instead assuming the viewer has read previous books.

Love it—Do Opposites Attract!!. OMG! I LOVED this book—this is a MUST READ! Don’t Expect You, Book 2 of Against All Odds series is an unputdownable, fun, flirty, and yet sexy and emotional at the same time. It was a delightful slow-burn. This book had so many fantastic lines, witty banter, and inner dialogue—this was definitely a breath of fresh air. I laughed out loud more times than I could count, but I was also swooning over the handsome, tall, brooding, rich, arrogant, charismatic, and sexy as hell Nathaniel (Nate) Chadwick. Now, this is a man any woman would love to have! Nate is the twin brother of Ford, whose story was told in the first book, and Nyx is the sister of Persy. Nate and Nyx are complete opposites. Nyx is a career lawyer who is on top of everything as well as the one her family gets to bail them out of trouble, but she would like to be in a relationship to fall in love and get married/kids. Nate is the playboy billionaire who is powerful, could have any gorgeous woman, and he wants no part of a relationship/marriage/kids because of what happened in his previous relationship. Yet, you know what they say about opposites—sometimes they do more than attract—they consume each other. But everything in Nate’s life changes when a chance encounter crosses his path with Nyx. Nate finds that he is completely thunderstruck by the intensity of his attraction to Nyx when he meets her—being intelligent, independent, confident, and sexy. But most of all, it is her vulnerability, passion, and she is not afraid to criticize his actions that the jaded player finds utterly irresistible. The chemistry between them is irresistibly adorable and palpable. Their battle of wits is tremendously fun—acerbic and sexy and filled with tension. Will Nate be aching to break all his rules or will all good things come to an end? Their journey to love is intoxicatingly unusual, perfectly paced and all around fun. This is a book I can reread over and over again. Claudia Burgoa satisfies hearts longing for laughter in their love stories. Claudia’s eloquent, fluid writing style is flawless and addictive with an engaging love story of artfully developed main characters.

Didn’t Expect You. First time reading this author. For the most part I enjoyed the story. But there were too many things that struck me as being unbelievable or unrealistic. More like a fairytale. Also unnecessary, the F word and others.

Amazing book!. I don’t normally review books but this one was amazing ! If I didn’t have a 6month old baby I would of read this in 1 day xo amazing feed I liked how the characters told there side of the story an it wasn’t the author telling it ! Amazing book ! I highly recommend it ! It’s a must read :)

Didn’t expect you. It was amazing read Love this book. Friends do lovers, playboy to sensible man and career oriented lawyer to single mom in making. Crazy and supportive family. If you love dogs we have one ,too. Wonderful characters, emotional rollercoaster,very entertaining and enjoyable story. Have fun reading and laugh out loud. I did.

Didn’t Expect You. Nyx is the most normal person in her family. Her life as a lawyer has been all work and no play and she is starting to get bored with it. Nate is a billionaire playboy and Nyx's sister's future brother-in-law who, no matter how many times he is told to stay away, is attracted to Nyx and tries to get her to agree to a no strings attached relationship. After avoiding Nate, a one-night stand with another guy and a positive pregnancy later, Nate is adamant about helping Nyx with her pregnancy and the baby. Didn't Expect You is a friends to lovers billionaire romance. This was my first book by Claudia Burgoa, and sadly it was a struggle for me. It is an extremely slow burn romance. Nate and Nyx started as friends and grew from there, but I just felt no chemistry between them. The banter between them was cute and entertaining, but that was really the only thing that kept me going through this book.

Loved it. This is probably one of my favourite books from Ms.Burgoa. Didn't Expect You is an entertaining read and I was invested in this story from the first to the last chapter. Nate and Nyx are so opposite it is hard to believe that they could blend together, however, they really do. They are both so focused and determined but the banter and bond that they share was to hard to ignore. Their chemistry sizzled and I enjoyed the humour and the obvious camaraderie between Nate and Nyx; this added an additional layer to my enjoyment whilst reading. The journey that Nate and Nyx embark on and the emotions and feelings that they go through was heart warming and the love they discovered made this an emotional and romantic story. The characters were entertaining, the story well written and I was left me with a smile on my face.

A beautiful easy to read romance!. Didn’t expect You is a really beautiful easy to read romance. The hero in this story, Nate, is the quintessential knight in shining armour. He is caring and thoughtful in that way that will cause you to swoon. Nyx Brassard is one tough woman. She loves her family and will do anything for them, to a point. She does however, get caught up in her head alot. Needless to say the path these two characters go on is eye opening and you can definitely see a budding friendship happening. Family and work drama combined make Nyx think differently on how she wants to live her life especially now. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, characters and the direction everything went. It was a wonderful book to get lost in. Can’t wait to see what the author writes next!

If you are looking for a fun, entertaining, emotional read look no further that Didn’t Expect You ( Against All Odds #2), it’s a wonderful, fun story with characters you will love and a plot that will captivate you from the first page to the last line. Nate and Nyx are complete opposites and at times you wonder if this couple actually have anything in common but as the saying goes “Opposites attract “ but the witty banter they share seems to pull them together to form an unbreakable bond. This is a journey about two people who are strong and independent as individuals but together they become stronger as they embark on the bumpy road to true love. This lighthearted fun read is one of my favourite books by Ms Burgoa, it ticked all my boxes and touched me on so many levels, It’s emotional, it’s funny , I loved Nate and Nyx and I was engrossed in their romance. I can’t wait for more in this series and more from this very talented author. Great addition to the series.
