In New York Times bestseller Steve Berry’s next Cotton Malone adventure, a secret dossier from a World War II-era Soviet spy comes to light containing information that, if proven true, would not only rewrite history — it could impact Germany's upcoming national elections and forever alter the political landscape of Europe.

Two candidates are vying to become Chancellor of Germany. One is a patriot having served for the past sixteen years, the other a usurper, stoking the flames of nationalistic hate. Both harbor secrets, but only one knows the truth about the other. They are on a collision course, all turning on the events of one fateful day — April 30, 1945 — and what happened deep beneath Berlin in the Fürherbunker. Did Adolph Hitler and Eva Braun die there? Did Martin Bormann, Hitler’s close confidant, manage to escape? And, even more important, where did billions in Nazi wealth disappear to in the waning days of World War II? The answers to these questions will determine who becomes the next Chancellor of Germany.

From the mysterious Chilean lake district, to the dangerous mesas of South Africa, and finally into the secret vaults of Switzerland, former-Justice Department agent Cotton Malone discovers the truth about the fates of Hitler, Braun, and Bormann. Revelations that could not only transform Europe, but finally expose a mystery known as the Kaiser’s web.

Very interesting premise. Overall, not one of Mr. Berry’s best novels. Well the premise is very interesting and entertaining, it seems like the story was drawn out too much with a lot of extraneous verbiage and background that we’re not really pertinent. Some of the situations were a little hard to believe.

The Kaiser’s Web. May be the best, and I’ve read them all.

One of the best in the series!. Great read!

Dragonflygirl02

Absolutely repulsive ending.. While typically a fan of Steve Berry, this book was insulting to me. I did not expect him to first take a political stance which he clearly did in this book. His own ideology seems to clearly be coming through and his choice of ending for Marie is absolutely inappropriate. Suicide should never be justified as a means to an end, written about or glamorized in this way. The fact the main characters handed her a loaded gun and allows this ending is repulsive. I won’t be reading another book by Steve Berry and I have read them all until now.

Another great one!. 👍👍

Thanks. Was a good tale well told. Intriguing and fast but in some ways an unbelievable fantasy- well worth the time. Danny didn’t really fit well into the picture. Reynolds

Sloppy editing. Don’t use German phrases if you don’t speak the language or don’t know anybody to proof read it. Some of the errors were almost comical like using female names for male characters but in the end it just very annoying. Besides that the story was entertaining although a bit far fetched.

Could be better.. Not one of his most interesting stories. A little dry, and I’m a fan!

Proofreading for German terms. Adlerflug instead of Aderflung, Hausfrauen instead of Hausfrau, Schloss instead of schlöss, And others.....

Engrossing but not from the start. Ordinarily I find from the first chapter of his novels that I can’t put them down. This one only captivated me after about a quarter though. However after that slow start his storytelling was again superb
