More Murderbot. This was a nice twist on murderbot having him working with others in a place he’s growing to like, and helping people he’s beginning to think of as friends. I’m sad to have the stories ending I hope there’s more

Love MurderBot but too short!. I did realize this was a short story and expected a novel. Purchase last night and finished this morning and it simply wasn't enough MurderBot. Please please please write more!

Great Story, Inappropriate Pricing. “Fugitive Telemetry” is the sixth major installment in Martha Wells Murderbot Diaries series. Like the first four installments, this is a novella. Our favorite SecUnit has been living with its humans on the world of Preservation. Here, it is more than property. People keep acting as if it is either a potentially dangerous construct, or an actual person (both of these are true). Interacting with people cause it all kinds of emotions. Emotions aren’t its strong suit, but it is learning to deal with them. What hasn’t changed is its dry sense of humor, and its sarcastic internal monologue. In this novel, Murderbot and some the humans on Preservation Station have to deal with an unexpected problem, the murder of a visiting human. This mystery only deepens as the initial facts are discovered, could it be a Corporate plot? Is there someone else at work for unknown purposes? Murderbot needs to find out in order to insure the safety of his friends. This novella was sort of a self contained murder mystery, and a return to the shorter Murderbot stories. It wasn’t entirely clear to me how it interfaces with the events at the end of the novel “Network Effect” which preceded it. Regardless, the story was another great installment in the Murderbot Diaries. My only complaint regarding this novella, is the pricing. Tor continues to release these novellas at a price point of a novel. Paying $12 for a e-novella does not seem appropriate to me. Granted, they sometimes offer them on specials later on, but this initial pricing just seems to make a lot of readers unhappy. I had to subtract a star from my rating due to this ongoing issue.

Novella for the price of a novel. If you like the Murderbot series you’ll enjoy it, but the publisher has apparently taken a lesson from the Corporate Rim and started charging novel-length prices for shorter works.

Good Short Story - but where is the Novel?. Good short story disguised as a novel or novelette (novella?). I wish Ms Wells took the time to craft a more complex interwoven thematic structure and gave more thought and writing (and pages) to developing it. I like the Murderbot character in principle but I don't get a sense of much psychological or character development. Too much to ask for?

The human within the construct. SecUnit is extremely relatable. That awkwardness he experiences on a moment to moment basis when he’s around humans is completely endearing. He’s a protagonist I can follow for many stories to come.

Great books but novella and full sized books should be priced differently. If 1/3 of us are willing to pay full price for novella length then they can charge that all the time. :( Love the books but don’t like the pricing.

Disappointing length. OK, overall this was the best scifi I’ve read in many, many years. Only real disappointment was that with the exception of the 5th book in the series, they were pretty short. Which, I guess, overall, is a complement. I wanted more. The last seemed rushed to tie it all up, but it was a very satisfying ending.

Great sci-fi series!. I’ve really enjoyed the murderbot series and believe the author did a great job displaying the emotional aspects of being a humanized machine meant to kill. My biggest complaint is that I wish the books were longer, which is more a complement as I always dread the quickly approaching endings as I read the books in this series. Hopefully the next book in the series will be a full sized novel.

Great!. I have only recently discovered murder bot and have quickly read every book! They are so interesting, fast paced and I love how she is able to express her emotions and learning about dealing with her new situations

More Murderbot, Yay!. This is only a novella, but a very good story, and great to learn more are Murderbot gets more complex (more human?!) Dr. Mensah is only a minor character here, and our free wheeling SecUnit/Murderbot protagonist is mainly involved with a Port Authority crew as they try to solve a murder. Fast paced and fascinatingly always. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.

From $10 novels to this…. I get capitalism, but $12 for a novella is a bit extreme. Feels like a version of price gouging (“people are paying it so why not”). This is the first offering in the series that I won’t read… on principle.

Great... But Not Her Best. I’ve read all of the books in this series so far and this one is definitely my least favorite. The first part was just a glorified sci-fi murder mystery. It felt very rushed, if not forced, and Muderbot spent a majority of the first half in a pissing contest with another character. Once the story picked up, it was really good—it felt as gripping as the previous installments. But all the action fizzled out as quickly as it came because the book is very short. I could mention the ridiculous price for such a short read right now, but at six books into the series, it’s a moot point. Lastly, I love the Murderbot Diaries but I’m getting tired of seeing the same aspects of the series being used again and again. Each book we’re introduced to a new character who, unsurprisingly, doesn’t trust Murderbot. And we spend half of an already short book trying to convince them that he’s a good SecUnit. It’d be nice to see something different in the next book—or at least get over that I-don’t-trust-SecUnits-just-because hurdle a lot faster. Still looking forward to the next book, but I definitely didn’t enjoy this one as much as the previous ones.

Price increase, page count decrease. The story line is as good as ever. But the price to engagement decrease is significant. Quit reading warhammer novels for same reason.

Another good addition to a great series. The plot got a bit muddled at times but Murderbot remains the best written non-human, human character there is. Love this series.

dead human report. There's only so many times you can review episodes of Sanctuary Moon while waiting for a new installment of Murderbot to appear on the feed. I almost had an emotion when Murderbot Diary #6 appeared. Luckily my visor was opaque and my expression was not apparent to those humans around me. I immediately stood in the corner, went into lockdown and unpacked the data transmission. i then applied all input resources to the transmission. It was as I expected - full immersion in content despite lack of video feed information. The only anomaly is that the episode was over too soon. Threat assessment has been reduced by the announcement that more Murderbot episodes are planned for the future. I may have to use hibernate function to reduce uptime waiting for next installment.

I love murderbot. I won’t précis the book but will say I have been waiting for this for about a year. I reread the series often and now have a new one to mix it up a bit. I do prefer her rogue status to this new slightly domesticated role but hopefully she will go off world in the next book.

Didn’t like the start, but then it delivered. Took me two goes to get over the start, which I felt was weirdly cumbersome. Glad I persisted though — shortly after if clicked into good old Murderbot mode. I really enjoyable read.

Fugitive Telemetry. Fugitive Telemetry is a wonderfully engaging read. Fast paced and with well rounded characters that bring the clever story to life, Martha Wells has really chivvied the Murderbot Diaries along in this sixth instalment. The murderbot character is a wonderfully human personality, without being all human, that anyone can relate to and which makes the stories set in this well-realised world such a fun read. In the latest instalment, murderbot, or SecUnit, is seconded to Station Security to help solve a murder mystery and although we were not given the usual level of excellently conceived tactical action for which I certainly, have come to love about these stories, the plot moves along, the characters are relatable and the world is a fun place to live for a few days. It’s not a long story - the Muderbot Diaries aren’t - but its protein rich and I would easily recommend it to anyone looking for a space adventure with a wonderfully layered main character and written with a light touch. Bravo, Martha Wells: an excellent series. You set the standard.
