Sooooo Good!. Such a different plot, which really drew me in. I loved the characters and adventure!
Lairds promise. Very satisfying. Nice plot, easy reading but with suspense and of course romance.
Stale romance. I liked the characters but the feeling wasn't there for me. I couldn't get excited about the romance. There was excitement but it didn't give me anything in the romance department to excite me or make me want to be part of the story.
Not super Scottish. Okay. So this story was just meh for me. Good enough to finish but not super enthralling. There were just things missing. Like a timeline. Historical fiction without a little time header at the beginning is frustrating imo. So I had to use context clues to figure it out (1200s Scotland). Then the dialogue lacked in Scottish inflection whatsoever. Everything was written far to English like. Ex. “Haven’t” instead of “havvna”. Not a single “ye kin” to to be found. Only the occasional “och”. Plus there was a lot of random geographical detail, but character and relationship development was lacking. And the way the plot wrapped up with Ceanna didn’t seem very worked out either. Idk. This story has potential. But needs work and editing imo.

Laid’s promise. A exhilarating story..
a laird’s promise. I liked it overall as I prefer strong women despite their situation and of course Sarah being a healer was a new experience so I enjoyed the information she provided. Philip is an honourable man and does the unthinkable in an effort to save his brother’s life by kidnapping Sarah to heal Jake. It’s stressful and fairly fast-paced throughout the book so you don’t get bored and the poisoning uncovered by Sarah and then her disappearance shortly afterwards keep you reading longer than intended many a night. That’s my take on this book. 😊
Page turner!. Finished it in 3 days because I could not put it down!
Laird’s Promise. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and found myself imagining Scottish Highlands and lakes. The conflict had me holding my breath at times. The conclusion satisfied my romantic streak!
A Lairds Promise. Loved this book! Strong characters forced into dire circumstances beyond their control. Adventures that challenge their thinking and tests their mettle but which ultimately helps them to move beyond their fears and prejudices to find the love and understanding they crave. Short but wonderfully written ❤️
