"In true Susan Mallery fashion, strong female characters, friendship, and family are at the center... You're sure to laugh and cry along the journey and delight in the happy ending."—Robyn Carr, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Virgin River

Step into the vineyard with Susan Mallery’s most irresistible novel yet, as one woman searches for the perfect blend of love, family and wine.

Mackenzie Dienes seems to have it all—a beautiful home, close friends and a successful career as an elite winemaker with the family winery. There’s just one problem—it’s not her family, it’s her husband’s. In fact, everything in her life is tied to him—his mother is the closest thing to a mom that she’s ever had, their home is on the family compound, his sister is her best friend. So when she and her husband admit their marriage is over, her pain goes beyond heartbreak. She’s on the brink of losing everything. Her job, her home, her friends and, worst of all, her family.

Staying is an option. She can continue to work at the winery, be friends with her mother-in-law, hug her nieces and nephews—but as an employee, nothing more. Or she can surrender every piece of her heart in order to build a legacy of her own. If she can dare to let go of the life she thought she wanted, she might discover something even more beautiful waiting for her beneath a painted moon.

Don't miss New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery's heartwarming summer novel, The Summer Book Club, where conversations over a glass of wine turns into something much more in this journey of motherhood, friendship and love.

Fantastic story. Even though I’ve purchased many of Susan Mallery’s books, this is the first book I’ve read of hers. I have a lot of catching up to do because I absolutely loved Mackenzie’s story. If anyone is debating reading this book, STOP! Grab this book and you’ll see why I fell in love with these wonderful characters. Sure, there’s a witch to really despise, but for the most part, you will be happily flipping the pages to see what happens next. As soon as times permits, I’ll definitely be reading more books from this author. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley and Harlequin and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Excellent. Add to your TBR list.. What happens when your 16 year marriage ends and your world changes. An excellent story about change, heartbreak, romance and coming home. This is an excellent read, with a little insight into the world of wine making (which I know nothing about other than drinking). Enjoy this one. Add to your TBR list.

I highly recommend. What happens when your whole life, your home, your career, your identity, is tied up in one person and his family and he decides it is time to set you free. Susan Mallery’s The Vineyard at Painted Moon is a story of just this scenario happening to one woman and how she navigates her new norm. This is a very good book that pulls at your heartstrings and gives you characters that you love and characters that you will dislike (one, for me) the dislike sneaks up on you and turns your initial impressions totally upside down). Besides the story you get a little insight into the winemaking industry. I highly recommend The Vineyard at Painted Moon

Don’t waste your time or money.... Cheesy, smarmy, snoozy drivel....totally unrealistic but at the same time totally predictable

Poor Barbara. I liked this book because I’m in the wine business and the author got a lot of things right. However, the mother in law character was poorly written and the book is finished with no resolve. Pretty disappointing.

Loyalty versus growth. As a whole, women’s fiction is not something I gravitate to, unless it’s written by an author I know will do it justice. Susan Mallery holds the number one stop on that list, and this book helps to showcase why. Family is always a delicate subject, especially those you are born or marry into, and Mackenzie learns that harsh truth when her marriage ends and the position she’s held in the family vineyard turns out to be just a job, in matriarch Barbara’s eyes. While her character added a bit of fire and someone to dislike, as times she came close to being a characature. That’s one person you wouldn’t mind losing in a divorce! Mackenzie’s relationship with her sisters-in-law showed that blood is not thicker than water to any of them, and family is who you chose to love. That was the highlight of the book for me by a long shot. There were points where the story dragged a bit for me, but again, I think that’s part of the nature of women’s fiction. But as always, I highly recommend Ms. Mallery’s attention to detail, character development and storyline. This will be a book I loan to quite a few friends and relatives.

Another great book!!. As with all Susan Mallery books, I need to have several hours available when I pick it up because I know I will love it and not want to put it down. Then I’ll be thinking about it until I can get back to finish it. This one is no exception. Her style of writing just flows so well for me and she always has great insight with her characters. While I love this book it seemed to wrap up to quickly at the end and had more focus on the mother-in-law with no real resolution with her or reasoning behind her behavior. That may be asking to much because she wasn’t the focus of the book but I kept wondering why she was like she was. Is this book worth reading know this. Absolutely! You can’t go wrong with Ms. Mallery so grab a copy and snuggle up for a great read!

beautiful story. The Vineyard at Painted Moon was yet another beautiful story crafted by Susan Mallery. The characters are strong, interesting, and perfectly imperfect. This book takes you on a journey through love, loss, and finding oneself. So so good. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Everyone can relate who has suffered a heartbreak. Anyone who has gone through a breakup can relate to Mackenzie’s heartache!! As she realizes her marriage is over she also realizes she is losing the only family she had left in this world. Thankfully two of her sister in laws supported her. Her other two and her mother in law were just mean! I’m glad she left them! The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was how her husband/ex-husband changed so much. He became a very mean and uncaring person. Which can happen in real life I just wasn’t expecting it in the book. But I love how Mackenzie grows throughout the book and takes charge of her own life and happiness. And builds her own, new, supportive family. As always Susan Malery helps you forget about your own troubles for a time and let’s you get lost in someone else’s world for a bit.

Winner!. Another great read by Susan Mallery! This book has many twists and turns, which keeps you turning the page. There is friendship, love, strength, courage and empowering strong women. I laughed and cried, which is a win-win... A winner of a book!

Abbyy22

Captivating. A captivating story filled with love, heartache, and the inner workings of familial relationships.

Great book, but.... This is a wonderful story with interesting characters. I greatly enjoyed it, but the ending was rushed and abrupt.

Xiaguan2014

What a read!. The worst part of Susan Mallery is the last page! I always love to be sucked into the worlds she creates. We see some old friends and make some new ones. One of the best things about Susan Mallery’s stories is how real they are. You know people like her characters or have gone through the same things. The Vineyard is an amazing addition to her books!

Yviybyiu

Susan Mallory The Vine. Very disappointed poor character development shallow unlikely plot - overall not worth the time.

Sunny St. Louis

Family. Captivating story of family’s love.

Not my favorite. It’s was something to read and occupy a few hours of my time I guess. But I feel I over paid for this book by $10 at least.
