Deadly Cross by James Patterson
Deadly Cross by James Patterson Book Summary
The murder of a glamorous DC socialite becomes Alex Cross’s deadliest case since Along Came a Spider.
Kay Willingham led a life as glamorous as it was public—she was a gorgeous Georgetown socialite, philanthropist, and the ex-wife of the vice president. So why was she parked in a Bentley convertible idling behind a DC private school, in the middle of the night, with the man who was the head of that school? Who shot them both, point blank, and why? The shocking double homicide is blazed across the internet, TV, newspapers—and across Alex Cross's mind. Kay had been his patient once. And maybe more.
While John Sampson of DC Metro Police investigates the last movements of Christopher Randall, the educator killed along with Kay Willingham, detective Alex Cross and FBI special agent Ned Mahoney find unanswered questions from Willingham's past, before she arrived in DC and became known in DC society as someone who could make things happen. They travel to Alabama to investigate Kay's early years. There they find a world of trouble, corruption, and secrets, all of them closed to outsiders like Cross and Mahoney.
Kay had many enemies, but all of them seemed to need her alive. The harder the investigators push, the more resistance they find when they leave behind the polite law offices and doctors' quarters of the state capital. Alex Cross will need to use all his skills as a doctor, a detective, and a family man to prevent that resistance from turning lethal . . . again.

Deadly Cross. Great book! Classic Alex Cross!
Very poor for JP. Request a credit, as possible? Tippy914. Very poor - not like other JP. Request a credit, as possible. Alan Pearce
Emotional. Without giving anything away, if you know the characters, you will be brought to tears. So many stories, really hit it out of the park!
One of his best.. Could not put it down as always.
Deadly Cross. Best Alex Cross ever!
Disappointing end but still enjoyed reading about Alex’s newest adventures. I Love all of the Alex Cross stories but the last couple books have had disappointing endings. This one as well. The story goes along, interesting and has my attention and then as the ending comes, it seems like it’s hurriedly done. Has James got too much on his plate these days to finish his story as it started, strong??? The ending was flat and I was disappointed but still a huge fan!
Loved it!. The story was just as good as previous books in the series!
Deadly Cross. I have greatly enjoyed all the Alex Cross novels but this one’s a huge disappointment. Save your money until Mr Patterson is back on his game.
A great read. Awesome!
Good read. Good read.
Only fair. Patterson is a great writer and I have enjoyed most of his books. However, this one is slow and has a weak story. There are far too many pages devoted to the hero’s not-too-interesting family life.
Deadly Cross. Loved the time with the kids.l
Thrilling. James Patterson never disappoints when it comes to the character Alex Cross. The story built upon previous stories and never let me rest from beginning to end. Lots of detail and mystery is the hallmark of James Patterson’s Alex Cross books.
Excellent story, as always!. I feel as if I just watched a movie in my head…Patterson never disappoints!
Chaotic. James Patterson’s latest Alex Cross novel is all over the place. The story line jumped around so much, I found it difficult to follow. The story was complicated, convoluted, and confusing. Patterson wraps the multiple story lines toward the end but I was left feeling that the ending was rushed and not up to Patterson’s caliber of writing. I’ve read every Alex Cross novel. This one was not my favorite.
Kept Mel in suspense. It was as always a well told story which included their personal stories as well. James Patterson has made me feel as if I’d met the characters in person.
Great read. This was my first James Patterson book. I loved it. A real page turner.
Fast read. Was nice to read a good book again
Deadly Cross. I’ve read a lot of James Patterson books and would put this one about average or a little above. I didn’t not like the book....just a good read.
Deadly Cross. Excellent it,s the best Alex Cross book in a long time!
