gnxjdscjjdnm - Beautiful from beginning to end
This was an amazing read! Realistic fiction that really pushed the envelope around tradition in the modern world. I loved it!
Nchallenger - Excellent Book
His only wife is funny, refreshing, relatable( realistic )and a quick read; however, it does feel like it should be the first book in a series on Afi’s journey - her story feels incomplete and there are areas in the book that feel under developed. Overall great book and i’m hoping for more in this series.
this name is not taken biaaa - 100%
jahblessu - juicy story, wish there were more moments that made me drop my jaw
The plot is messy, wild and just plain juicy but the book is underwhelming. I wish it wasn’t so elementary, but definitely 3 stars for a debut.
Funke06 - 💔
I loved reading this book, but the ending felt like it was half finished. I felt like I was left with a half finished ending.
Phenomenial Diva - Beautifully Told Story of a Strong Woman
Loved the novel. The story takes you right to Ghana. I loved the cultural references. I could feel, taste, and see Ghana. Can’t wait to visit this beautiful country!!! Afi is a remarkable, strong woman who I can relate to all the way to fashion design. Her story is compelling.
good for computer non savy - Wonderful
Wonderful book. A gripping read. Also informative about contemporary life in Ghana. Meaning of family and marriage and the role of women
AsiaAlmar18 - His Only Wife
Just Beautiful. Amazing. Powerful. Inspiring.
Alexkaitlin - One of the best novels of 2020
I read this book in one night. It’s that good. So glad I read this and so mad I didn’t read it sooner! What a story.
BeccaJo14 - Heartbreaking, but powerful
Very well written, characters were portrayed beautifully, loved seeing Afi find her confidence and independence in the midst of turmoil
Lynsie 5 - Enjoyable Reading .
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The Author really brought the characters to life.
kipolkpolk - Escapism in Ghana
Loved this book, read essentially in one sitting
Nana A-Mensah - His Only Wife
This is a riveting story about the complexity of culture and family influences on expected behavior of men and women in some Ghanaian contexts. My heart goes out to the protagonist, Afi ,who is caught in the middle of one family’s attempt to meddle with human emotions. Afi emerges as a strong willed independent woman who holds her head up high and demands that she be respected in the relationship .
I look forward to reading more books by this author .
