Adele returns to the Europe of her childhood, where familiar Parisian streets, old friends from the DGSI and her estranged father reignite her dormant obsession with solving her own mother’s murder. All the while she must hunt down the diabolical killer, must enter the dark canals of his psychotic mind to know where he will strike next—and save the next victim before it’s too late.
An action-packed mystery series of international intrigue and riveting suspense, LEFT TO DIE will have you turning pages late into the night.

Another could not put down read. Excellent story line with satisfying ending. Well done!!!
An Excellent read! Well written and very engaging. I think I’ve found a new author!
Books where a loved one always seems to get in the way are disappointing. To be so security conscious, Agent Sharp’s father should have known something was amiss when no one was at the door.
Good quick read that keeps the reader engaged and wanting more.
Great thriller. Loved the characters!
Probably one of the best mysteries I’ve read in a very long time!!!! Excellent
Very detailed and explained without unnecessary information. I was expecting more plot twists. It was rather predictable towards the end, but very enjoyable. I'd recommend it.
Could not put this one down! On to Book 2!!!
A very good read. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Father’s description and relationship was identical to my family.
Loved this book
I enjoyed the characters and adventures. I could not put the book down. It was a nice get away for me.
Haven’t read a book in years, downloaded this one and read it in 5 days! Loved it!
I am a big fan of Blake Pierce but I won’t bother with this series. Too much blah, blah, blah. I flipped through pages of mundane blather that had nothing to do with solving the murders. It took forever to get to the grit of the story. I suppose the writer was introducing his new characters. I didn’t like any of them actually. I didn’t warm up to them. And the bouncing back and forth between languages was annoying.
A woman detective with ghosts in her past chases a serial killer across countries. Professionally and personally involved with the killer she desperately hopes she can stop him.
Wow I could not stop reading and wondering what happens next!
Kept one’s attention and didn’t disappoint!
Is death spooky I think it is bc u die forever and peopl are sad bc u cant see them anymore now I’m sad do u like dogs they r cute dogs never die I like them
Really enjoyed this book. Couldn’t put it down. Good characters and a good story. Recommend it to everyone.
Except for some swearing, an excellent cozy mystery. I look forward to upcoming books by this author!
Loved the book. You never disappoint. I have read many of your books they keep you in suspense till the end. As a book nut and at this time in life. I Thank You!
Another fast paced thriller from Pierce. I wish some aspects of the story would have wrapped up better, since I’m sure they won’t be revisited in a future book. Overall, it’s a great unpredictable read!
This was a great suspenseful thriller. This is book 1 of An Adele Sharp Mystery series. This is a very well written book with well-developed characters. The story pulled me in from the start and kept me hooked to the end. Blake Pierce is a great author and I’m looking forward to reading the next book. I recommend reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another unique suspenseful read from Blake! Adele is an FBI agent with a unique background as she holds citizenship in the US, France, and Germany. As she tracks a killer in the US, she finds out that he has actually fled the country after her getting close to finding him and since she has citizenship in France, she follows him there. In France, she reconnects with her old employer and the life she abruptly left back there, and joins forces with them to take the killer down. Then, as she closes in on him again, he flees to Germany, where Adele again has the advantage of having citizenship, and follows him again. The premise and execution of this was a little strange to me, but overall I followed along the storyline. Something I wish that we had gotten more information on though is what happened to Adele’s mother and the reason for her abrupt and unpleasant departure from France. Hoping to find out in the coming books! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Book fun
Silly beyond measure
The book is riveting and different from his normal stories that author Blake has written. The storyline is based on an International killer and it requires a FBI agent who can speak fluently the required languages to solve the murders. Adele must face her past in order to solve the mystery. I certainly look forward to the sequels to this first book based o. Adele Sharp. I received the book free and the review is of my own thoughts and reactions.
Finding it a bit confusing. Very different to Blake’s other work. Figuring out the different French police systems is one thing but it’s made so much harder when calling one of the characters 3 different names; John, Renee and Agent Renee. And I’m still unsure as to why the other French agent lady was in the cafe during the interview with Marions friends? I couldn’t follow that either. I have read and adored every other series from Blake, i recommend all of her work to anyone I meet that enjoys reading, and I was so looking forward to this new series. Hopefully book 2 is easier to follow.
