Great. I liked it but it was a little lengthy in places that didn’t need it in my opinion.
Read!. Even the acknowledgements were fantastic. Making a mark in your lifetime is a purpose. Sometimes we don't see it. Sometimes we want to quit. Sometimes we want to surrender. If we could only wait one more piece of time, we would find it. Great read and it will be a great discussion.
Long but worth it!. An ending can make or break a book, and this ending was worth all of the character building that led up to it!
Wow. Just, wow.. What an absolutely beautiful book from start to finish.
Read this!!!. Must read!!! The writing is enthralling and worth every second. Do not think about reading any other book before this one.
Terrible. I’m supposed to believe the literal devil, a thing that has haunted the Earth since its existence, couldn’t stop himself from falling in love with a random white lady from 17th century France?
Very well written.. I am very impressed. I didn’t know this author before this book, and now I’m going to read more from her without question. The story has so much depth. Definitely recommend it!
The Invisible life Addie LaRue. I really enjoyed Addie LaRue. It caught my within the first few pages. And at times i thought it to be borderline young adult genra but it had a great ending it I over all enjoyed this read very much!!!
Very blah. I really wanted to like this book but it wasn’t very enthralling
Living while losing.. I am grateful for the explanation of emotions and consequences that were revealed. When you have lost someone the range and depth can be so great that it overwhelms and slips past. Addie helps me relive that time and delve into feelings and fears and joy that I did not comprehend at that horrible, numb wasteland of unexpected tragic loss. I am grateful. barb
The devil. Credit for the big imagination and story telling however this book was dark and disturbing. Disappointing the author thought this would be a welcomed escape…. The devil?????
Just ok. All in all a good book. I feel like so many chunks could have been left out. It felt like it dragged at times. I don’t typically read fantasy but I would recommend this book to a friend. 3.5/5 stars. This is one of those times that I think a movie portrayal would be awesome. I think I could see the movie being 5 stars.
Enchanting but long. I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down. Granted, it’s probably twice as long as it needs to be as it starts to get a bit drawn out and predictable about halfway through. But it’s such a beautiful, fantastical story. You really get lost on the magic of it all! Definitely recommend and would read again.
Loved every page of it.. So beautifully written.
Terrific read!. Beautifully written. Interesting and effective organization of chapters. Deserves a large audience. V.E. has a new fan!
Interesting concept, but I got a little bored.. Not bad, but not great.
Magical story of love and triumph. I loved everything about this book. From the characters who were connected across time to the shadows that tempt the light. This book was a beautiful escape and a tangible reminder to live life past the edges.
It’s worth the wait!. I started this book and 1/3 of the way in put it down because I wasn’t sure I was really into it. I decided to pick it back up a few nights ago and I’m so glad I did. What an ending. Love this one so much.
Loved it. Amazing. I loved every page. It ended perfectly.
It’s a good book. Perfect summer read, it has everything. Love, hate, evil, passion, history, comedy. It’s nothing super cathartic or groundbreaking. Just a good easy read.
Amazing. This book really makes you think, makes you ask yourself some hard questions. I loved everything about it!
3 stars / unpopular opinion. I’m irritated that Goodreads always shuts down the app whenever I am doing a long review for a book. So for now, I’ll keep it to the point. I give this book 3.5 to 3.75 stars. I would have given it 4, because by the end of the book, I was smitten and I did love all the characters, even the villain of the story. However, it’s not getting 4 stars only because I almost gave up reading the book. I just wasn’t that pulled into the novel until the last 100 pages. If I had put the book down before that, I still wouldn’t have even been able to give it too low of a score because it is written in such a way I can envision all of the characters and the scenery and even the difficult parts to pull off, like when it was time for Luc to take his souls - I was able to imagine the entire thing. Anyways, because it took me about 320 pages to get into the book, I can’t give it a solid 4 stars. However, by the end I was leaning towards a higher score. I have two more of her books in my pile of unread books thus far. Not sure if I’m excited to start the other ones, or feeling a bit of worry that I might not be entranced on that interested until the final act. I will say - I did love the villain by the end. And I think that because the author was exploring that character arc/development a bit more, I found the book more entertaining and interested at that point. Until then, even Henry was pretty forgettable, similar to the first few lovers that Addie had.
Fantastic Read. I could hardly put this book down. A fantastic and moving adventure.
You MUST read! Life changing!. This book is one of the best books or at least one of the most intense & thoughtful books. I honestly could not put down and I’ve re-read this three times. It’s really that good. I’ve been waiting and hoping that V.I. LaRue will write a sequel.
Great read. Very good
Loved it!. This book was so good!!
Well written. This was a great read! I really enjoyed the strong female lead character.
Fantastic!. I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was well written and the story kept me captivated. I would recommend.
Felt super long but so worth it.. It took me a while to get through this cause I kept picking it up and putting it back down. But honestly can say this is one of the most uniquely written books I’ve ever read. The last 100 pages were the most interesting I would say. Definitely a slow burn but worth it in the end. Love that this author left the potential for a sequel and I would definitely revisit these characters if they do return! Chills at the end.
A breath of fresh air. This book will make you feel so many things all at once. My heart hasn’t been fluttering of happiness in awhile but this book made me feel more than just sadness that I been feeling lately. This book filled me with hope that life is more than the bubble I created for myself. Highly recommend to read this masterpiece 🌷
I’ve lost so much sleep.. I got this book a few days ago, because I have always been a fan of V.E Schwab’s work. But this story is so unique and so captivating that I have spent the last few days devouring each word on every page of this book. Now, after reading the final chapters, I can finally sleep. And I couldn’t be happier. Sweet dreams my fellow insomniacs.
Read it all in one sitting. Haven’t read a book this good in a long time. Very well done
i want to die. BEST BOOK EVER I CANT
Monotone. When I read the summary of this book, it gripped me and pulled me in. Sadly, it was all I could do to finish it. It is beautifully written but painfully boring and dull. I expected more intrigue, more adventure, and I definitely had high hopes for it being able to make me feel a wide range of emotions. It was a super neat storyline and a cool idea, but this book was extremely monotone.
good premise boring execution. The author writes well. A few of her lines read like poetry. And I understand the choice of a third person limited, present tense perspective. But it reads all the more hollow for it. Even as it’s likely supposed to, it feels like a cop-out. Don’t get me wrong, the author is certainly clever. But the story remains flat and weak.
Loved it. couldn't put it down A+
The invisible life of Addie large. Excellent.
Stick with it. Gets a little tedious with the details in the middle of the book, but the ending is perfection.
amazing. i loved this book
So unique. Addie’s story is so cool to lose yourself for a few hours in. I just kept wanting to read more about what she got up to and the relationship with her dark friend…it was strange to root for it but not know if I should…
wow. i really super enjoyed it a lot. idk why but i liked the thought of luc and addie together?? idk anyways i’m glad the book ended how it ended. i loved it.
The Invisible lol Life of Addis LaRue. Loved it. It was mysterious and had a strong woman as the main character. I loved that she could live forever and not be a vampire.
5/5. Very good!
WOW. I laughed. I cried. I loved. Just.. Wow. I think that’s the best book I’ve ever read.
I will never forget.. I could tell you all the wonderful things that make this book magical or you could do yourself a favor and read it. I’ve never felt such longing for two people to meet again and yet, this is such a fitting way to go. Thank you for Addie’s (and Henry’s) story.
I love Addie La Rue!!. She was so courageous from beginning to end! A tough, smart female character.
My favorite novel!. This book made me feel like I was part of the story. I felt like I was transported to a different world.
Interesting. One of the best books I’ve ever read!
A read to be treasured.. An exceptional work of art filled with beauty and heartbreak and hope.

The invisible life of Addie Larue. Mesmerizing.
Addie Larue is. Unforgettable.
Couldn’t Put it Down. This isn’t going to be the most helpful review, because I don’t have the words to describe how this book touched my soul. If I could give it 7 stars (one for each freckle) I would. I will keep coming back to this story again and again.
Couldn’t put it down. Written so well! Can’t wait for another
Ending makes it worth it. The ending was brilliant and poignant, and talks about what it means to be human, and the beauty of impermanence. How life is worth living, for its joys, despite its pains. It’s important to note, however, middle part drags on and there are many repetitive cycles that as a reader, I started to lose interest. However, I will give it the benefit of the doubt in the sense that it illustrated Addie’s life, an interesting one but without much substance. The writing is very flowery, for those who enjoys that. I found it too flowery at times

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. INCREDIBLE story-telling. The kind that makes you re-read line after line trying to soak up the beauty of the words and hold onto them like precious tokens. Immediately after finishing Addie LaRue, I began searching for more books by V.E. Schwab because I couldn’t bare the thought of not having her words to occupy me. Couldn’t suggest this book highly enough!
wow.. amazing. read this book. you won’t regret it.
So beautifully written. You don’t realize until you come across a book like this how much you’ve been missing out on truly good writing. The grammar, sentence structures, descriptions are all so very rich. And to mix this with a wonderful story is quite the treat. So a big thank you to the author. It’s been a pleasure to read your book.
Intriguing Read. It took me some time to get into the story, but once I was in I never wanted the story to end. I truly enjoyed it and do hope there’s a sequel.
WOW. this book is so beautifully written. A whole masterpiece. The twist at the end “I remember you” made my heart ache.
Great book, different, unpredictable, a great love story !. Great book ! It takes you through times of the past, historical moments but is a love story. Love the author’s way of keeping the story flowing !
So Unexpectedly Beautiful. I am not normally one for suspense or darker themes, but there is something weirdly lovely about this book. I only hate that I cannot read it for the first time again!
All the feels. This book was one of those that is more engrossed in feelings than actions—beautifully written. And weirdly incredibly relatable. Yet, I felt perhaps it was a tad longer than it needed to be. And yet again, I highly recommend it.
Nope!. A lot of build up for nothing.
Falls flat several times. I wanted to like this book. The premise is great but the story fell stagnant several times. By the conclusion I felt uninvested in the story.
Don’t believe the reviews. I forced myself to read half od of this book only because of the number of positive reviews. I am baffled. There seems to be no point to the story, assuming you can find a story. Don’t waste your money!!
Good but too long. I liked this book a lot, but it was too long and repetitive for me. That style makes sense with the premise though.
Love. I couldn’t put it down!
The Invisible Life Of Addie Larue. Can not believe good reviews for this book. Too long and repetitive. I wish I did not waste my time.
One of the best books I’ve read in years. I could not put this book down!! I am not one to write reviews, but this book struck me in a way that I haven’t felt in so long. Beautiful, heartbreaking, lovely, and unique. I never wanted it to end!
Excellent Read. Such a unique premise with conflicted and flawed characters. An excellent read!
The Invisible Life of Addie Larue. Just WOW! A fantastic read.
Slow Simmer. You’ll find a slow start, but simmering always blends flavors better than a roiling boil.
Geniusly written. Really enjoyed this story and the different timelines. Different plot than normal books and so endearing. Made me root for Addie and want her to succeed.
Loved it. This is not my typical genre but I really enjoyed this book. Probably one of my favorites for the year
Persistence. Fascinating story. And it feels so real. The emotional levels of this novel hit highs and lows with me. It was recommended to me by a book group and I’m very happy I have read it. Very clever weaving of a magical tale.
Riveting. Amazing book
Wonderfully written and engaging. I truly loved this book. What a story! I loved all of the different time periods, the characters Addie meets and interacts with…I honestly couldn’t put the book down. I kind of want to go back and reread it- I’m sure I missed parts. I loved all of the intricate details. One of my new favorite books.!!!
Absolutely amazing. Would have been five stars but honestly the last two pages ruined it for me cause I didn’t get the ending I wanted but we don’t always get what we want, but it was still a really good book i definitely recommend.
Excellent. The story was beautiful and the writing superb. Really loved the character development.
totally worth it!. What a great read!
wow.. This book started of quite slow but once you pass those chapters it’ll be a worthwhile. Beautifully written.
Great read. Loved it!
This book is literal magic ✨. July 29th, 1714: Addie LaRue makes a bargain with the darkness to become immortal and save herself from a loveless marriage that will force her to stay in her small French hometown for the rest of her life. But Addie doesn’t quite understand the consequences of her actions. She can still feel pain and get injured, but she heals quickly. She stays young forever and doesn’t age. But with everything good comes consequence: No one can remember her for more than one night. Not her family, her friends or those she meets along the way. She sees the darkness in the form of what she imagined her soulmate would look like - long dark hair and piercing green eyes, or Luc, as she names him. Luc is the only one who can remember her and though he wants her to give in and give up her immortal life, they’re strangely drawn to each other. 2014: Enter Henry. Also of dark hair and green eyes. And 300 years since the day she was cursed she finds someone who can remember her too. As they get to know each other they fall in love. And while Henry does age and grow older, there’s something else he’s keeping from Addie. We get dual timelines from the past as well as “present day” 2014. I found it fascinating to watch Addie navigate her new life and it’s limitations. Throughout the years Addie finds new ways to leave her mark on history. Her relationship with both Henry and Luc absolutely broke me in the most beautiful way. While there is a bit of slow start with world building, Schwab’s writing was beautiful and kept me going. I could see and feel the story as if I were there. I loved getting to read how Addie found herself, love and how to leave her mark along the way. She is an amazing strong, female lead!
couldnt love it more. before reading addie larue, i didnt like reading at all. but once i started getting into the book more i could not put it down. i love the way the book is set up, and flips between addies current life (2014) and her years past. im OBSESSED.
it breaks you. heartbreakingly beautiful.
One of my favorite books. The ending was hard to except but was still amazing, the entire story is just overall great.
The Invisible Life of Addie Larue. This book is absolutely amazing! Loved traveling through Addie’s adventures. Wonderful escape read. Definitely reminds you to pause and enjoy life!
Loved the suspense, period drama, historical fiction, and romance. 10/10
Please fix iPhone formatting. When reading on iPhone, this book limits its line length too much. This causes an awkward amount of white space and fails to utilize the screen effectively. This problem seems to be unique to this book, so maybe an update could resolve the issue.
What a great book.. I mean, I don’t even know what to say. The plot twists and ending are the best part. Stop what you are doing and starting reading this masterpiece. Thank you, V.E Schwab.
Excellent!. A must read!
okay. it was pretty boring at first and only got interesting in the last 75 pages. i wouldnt read it again but it was an okay book
Genuinely the best book I’ve ever read.. Just read the title, that should be enough.
a work of art ong. i love this book and will never stop recommending it. it’s beautifully written and i love books that move slowly. it’s okay to be a little bored in the first parts, when you get to part four your interest will be piqued.
Amazing! Hung onto every word.. I didn’t expect to enjoy this book at first. I couldn’t stop reading and just fell in love with it. Highly recommend.
Must read. Amazing. Keep me guessing until the end. Sad that Addie traded herself to give Henry his life back. Bitter sweet – are you got to continue living immortally with Luke
Complete waste of time!. Bought this book because of the high ratings, what a total letdown. So sorry I wasted my money
Must Read. Painting a beautiful life with words.. This is the first time I read Schwab and when I say I literally never write reviews I NEVER write reviews. But I absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend it- such a poignant way to capture the beauty of life
The thing about Addie LaRue…. …is that you could have met her. I could have met her. Spent months with her as a lover, a friend, a stranger who took me away, love at first sight. And because of the nature of her curse I would never remember. Thank for this story, this story was beautiful and it has a way of making you feel part of it.
What’s next?. What do I read after something so... well put together? So well thought out? This book is amazingly hard to put down.
A timeless escape. A pure fairy tale; but one that almost feels real ...
Adeline. Held my interest from beginning to end. Great historical references and character development. Believe the hype…highly recommend.
Great book!!. Great story!! I couldn’t put it down!!
Loved this book. Good from beginning to end.
