“An exquisitely poignant tale of life, friendship and facing death . . . heart-breaking yet ultimately uplifting . . Everyone should read this book.” — Ruth Hogan, author of Queenie Malone’s Paradise Hotel
Infused with the emotional power of Me Before You and the irresistible charm of Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine and Be Frank with Me, a moving and joyous novel about an elderly woman ready to embrace death and the little girl who reminds her what it means to live.
It's never too late to start living.
Eudora Honeysett is done with this noisy, moronic world—all of it. She has witnessed the indignities and suffering of old age and has lived a full life. At eighty-five, she isn’t going to leave things to chance. Her end will be on her terms. With one call to a clinic in Switzerland, a plan is set in motion.
Then she meets ten-year-old Rose Trewidney, a whirling, pint-sized rainbow of sparkling cheer. All Eudora wants is to be left alone to set her affairs in order. Instead, she finds herself embarking on a series of adventures with the irrepressible Rose and their affable neighbor, the recently widowed Stanley—afternoon tea, shopping sprees, trips to the beach, birthday celebrations, pizza parties.
While the trio of unlikely BFFs grow closer and anxiously await the arrival of Rose’s new baby sister, Eudora is reminded of her own childhood—of losing her father during World War II and the devastating impact it had on her entire family. In reflecting on her past, Eudora realizes she must come to terms with what lies ahead.
But now that her joy for life has been rekindled, how can she possibly say goodbye?

A special look at dying. Loved this book about an 85 year old and death, heart warming and full of great characters.
Amazing. Loved this book…so many levels you can find yourself in many.
Sweet and delightful. Simply told with a lovely pace and enduring characters. I loved the back history set against the current day to help share the narration. Eudora is kind but brittle from life’s tough hits, but her young neighbor Rose sees the best in her. Enjoyable read that made me smile.
Beautiful tale of life and death. I read this after a friend died and it helped with my grief.
Great book. One of the best books I’ve read in a long time! Beautiful story
Just stop. Can anyone write a novel without shoving their political leanings down readers throats anymore? I read to get away from the news cycle.
Brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end!. Loved this book and the subject matter. The relationships between the characters and how they grew felt real and developed naturally.
The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett. I normally do not write reviews but I just loved this book! So heartwarming, sweet and funny! I will be reading more of this authors books. I will be thinking about Eudora, Rose and Stanley for many days to come!
The brilliant life of Eudora Honeysett. I fell in love with these characters. I didn’t want it to end
Best book Ina long while. At first I thought is was going to be boring. Not so. Very touching. Cried through the last third.
The best book I’ve read in a while.. A touching book about subjects too often taboo in modern life—aging and death. The characters spring to life as the compelling story unfolds. The best book I’ve read in a while.
Enchanting. Eudora and Rose, an unlikely friendship. Death and life, like bookends, meet and leave us with a feeling of completeness. One sweet story.
Loved the story. Excellent story from beginning to end.
Such a sweet story!. Enjoyed this book immensely!!
Lovely. This was a wonderful story that touched my soul. This book has so many positive messages that we all need remember about kindness, love and looking out for our neighbors.
Heavy duty. This subject matter was heavy and sad the life of not living one’s dreams, however the end left me satisfied and hopeful. Contained good info on topics we should be talking about more. Great book, memorable characters, 5 stars.
A beautiful story…….. With characters that will make you smile, laugh and cry! Most enjoyable!
