The Wish List. Loved it. Fun. Happy. Escapist. Simple, but complicated in uncomplicated ways. Enjoyable characters. After 2020, we could use some of this.
The wish List. I so enjoy English writers. They just know how to tell a story with feeling, believable characters, and great humor. I will be reading more by this author.

Cowabunga haha. The Wish List has some funny moments. I loved the main character Florence. I wish I’d read more about Zach. But the Cowabunga, OMG too funny.
Easy weekend read. I love everything this lady writes, and this was no exception. Cool twists to mix up the traditional rom-com characters. Binge-read it.

Synopsis: Be careful what you wish for… Florence Fairfax isn’t lonely. She loves her job at the little bookshop in Chelsea and her cat, Marmalade, keeps her company at night. But everything changes when her stepsister, Mia, announces that she’s engaged to her boring golf-playing boyfriend. That’s when Florence meets Irish love coach, Gwendolyn. …because you just might get it! When Gwendolyn makes Florence write a wish list describing her perfect man, Florence refuses to take it seriously. Finding someone who likes cats, doesn’t wear pointy shoes and can overlook her ‘counting habit’? Impossible! Until, later that week, a handsome blond man asks for help in the bookshop… But is Rory the one, or is he simply too good to be true? Florence is about to find out that her criteria for finding Mr Right aren’t as important as she thought – and that perhaps her perfect man has been right there all along… My thoughts: I enjoyed this romantic fiction book – a much needed break from anxiety inducing news and some darker novels I’ve read recently. The story is set partly in a bookshop, one which needs to move forward into the modern day and encourage people to visit it more. Florence also needs to move forward with her life – or so her family insist. The wish list is what she creates after being sent to see a ‘love coach’ and then Rory arrives, who seems to tick many of the boxes – or does he? This is fun romantic book with some sad topics covered and some laugh out loud moments. An uplifting read for the summer of 2020.

Crispin James Alan Nevill Money-Coutts, 9th Baron Latymer (born 8 March 1955), is a British peer who is a descendant of both the well-known Irish nationalist Thomas Addis Emmet and the banker Thomas Coutts. In 2003, he inherited the title Baron Latymer from his father, the 8th Baron Latymer (1926–2003). He was educated at Eton and Keble College, Oxford. He rowed in the World Rowing Junior Championships in 1972 (in the eight) and in 1973 (in the eight and the coxless pair, winning a silver medal in the latter), then he represented Oxford in the University Boat Race in 1975 and 1977, winning the latter. In 2005, Lord Latymer sailed single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean, on the identical journey his father had taken some decades previously.
