Ok. Reads like a dry police procedural. Not any crisis, so nothing to anchor the story to anything. Won’t bother to read anything else by this author, but I did finish, so there is that. Figured it out less than half way through the book.

What happened to Sylvia’s husband??. Decent read but was disappointed to not get any details of what happened to Sylvia’s husband.

Exciting read. It was a bit slow at first but as the story unfolded I couldn’t put the book down!

Plots and Twists. It was engaging and kept me guessing. Great ending. I liked how there were no lagging non-significant wording just filling up space. Each word and chapter took you on a purposeful ride through the story.

Great First Read !. I haven’t picked up a book for quite some time so when I saw this book was free, I decide to give it a shot. Came in not knowing what to expect but was surprised over how invested I got into the story. Ended up finishing the book in about 3 days and couldn’t wait to see how it would end. Who She Was: A Sylvia Wilcox Mystery. Wow! This is one of the best mysteries I’ve ever read! I truly couldn’t figure it out until almost the end. Lots of twists and turns from beginning to end. My only concern was the killer wasn’t punished or exposed for the crime. It doesn’t take away from the expertise the writer showed in plot or character development. Skilled writing is a pleasure to read!

I’m hooked. This was a great surprise. I wasn’t expecting much to be honest, I was just looking for a quick detective story to read before bed BUT now I’m hooked. Love the main character and I’ll be buying the sequel the minute I finish this review. If you like detective/crime stories and if you are a Peter James/Roy Grace fan, you’ll love this.

Okay. The premise of the story is good, I’m not sure if it’s the authors telling of the story I just felt it was all over the place. Conclusions were reached within a paragraph and then discarded the next. I did not get to know any of the characters and I felt there were too many characters that the ending was rushed to get a sense of finality. There is an amazing book within this story though!
